Liked the staff everywhere at the hotel - they were very helpful. Really a 3 star hotel due to dated rooms, loud air conditioner. Bar staff very pleasant. Complimentary water everyday would have been nice, especially during the water outage. Ran out of towels at pool. But overall, you do not spend time in the rooms other than sleeping - you are paying for location and comfortable sleeping quarters.
Everything you could ask for in the heart of Old Town. Consistent outstanding Hyatt amenities and service. Beautiful water views from your balcony. Lovely little private beach and pool area. Location can't be beat.
beautiful location and awesome staff...Thanks so much Sabran for our incredible views of the Gulf.....was a perfect anniversary celebration .....far enough away yet close enough for all the energies and excitement of Duvall......Near great restaurants...Pool and the bar fun and very relaxing
If not for the location, this gets a lower rating. Hotel is beyond tired and needs a facelift, lobby is poor reflection, elevators and are old and dirty, rooms were clean but furniture was nicked up, floors had cracks and walls were dirty. The AC units are old and loud and don’t allow for comfortable sleep. Staff is friendly.
This hotel in Key west was a fantastic stay for us as Globalists. We were given a room upgrade to a slightly larger room with a nice view. The hotel is small but beautiful and my kids especially loved the little butterfly garden and all the turtles and chickens/roosters everywhere! The pool and nearby lounge area was small but nice and we enjoyed it. Lounge chairs were always available. Breakfast was great and seating outdoors was great, with a fantastic view. Staff was exceptional and my husband and daughter loved the jet ski excursion they booked and we loved the commotion on the ocean sunset cruise which was fun for the whole family. It was easy to get an uber or cab from the lobby area. They gave us reusable water bottles and had plenty of filling stations and some with flavored and sparkling water options. Overall would recommend and would stay here again.…
Very disappointed in the quality of the guest room when the cost was considered. The decor and furnishings are what would be expected in a budget hotel/motel. I expected much better based on the costs of the stay. The location of the hotel was great. Convenient to many sites. We enjoyed the use of the bikes (which was an additional cost).
We love staying here! The rooms are beautiful and ours had a great view of the sea! We swam in the pool and the temperature was good. I hate cold pools, lol.Drinks and dessert at the bar were yummy. You are only 1 block from Duval and the seaside harbor. Lots to do nearby.
My husband and I stayed at Hyatt Centric Key West for a quick babymoon the first weekend of March. While the staff was very kind and accommodating we found the hotel itself to be underwhelming. We stayed in a king room and didn't pay to upgrade our view so we ended up with a balcony that faced the parking lot, bc when they say "city view" they mean the parking lot. The room was clean but had a cold feeling with tile floors and bright white lights like a dentist office. It had zero ambiance, which again- isn't the worst? But given the price we paid for the room (almost $1,000 a night) I'd expect it to be slightly more luxurious. The bathroom had a sliding barn-style door which made it feel not all that private. We didn't eat at the restaurant but did eat at the bar a couple of times. The food wasn't great but the service was kind and quick. All in all, I wouldn't stay here again just because of the price. If the room had been between $200-300 a night? Maybe. But at close to a grand, I wanted it to be more comfy and stylish. …
Our arrival was great. The room was disappointing with a noisy AC but we got moved when we brought it up to the staff. Staff here is always gracious and very nice. The room manager (from Switzerland, I can’t recall his name but he saved the day) followed up to make sure all was taken care of.Pool is a bit small but service was really good and the food and drinks are very good as well. Rooms were nicely cleaned. We liked the metal water bottles that were provide and the many refill stations as well. We come to Key west at least once a year (used to stay at casa marina) and it looks like this will be our place to stay. Close to Mallory but not noisy, easy walk to bars, shops and restaurants.
We ate at the hotel's restaurant which we thought would be very nice - it wasn't. We ordered the $58 ribeye (each of us). First hint should have been when we ordered that they didn't ask us how we would like that cooked. I instead asked the waitress if she would like to know. There was a bit of a language barrier, but she was very nice. I can't even compare what this steak looked or tasted like. It was terrible. It was so terrible that when the waitress came back to check on us, I literally said "this is terrible". Overcooked, so fatty, terrible. We are from the northeast so ordering a $58 steak meal isn't so uncommon. But this might have been the worst restaurant meal I have ever been served. They did give us a complimentary dessert and the staff was very nice, but the food was terrible and a waste of $116!!! Upon our departure we stopped at the restroom and that was awful too. Dirty, rusty paint near the baseboard, appeared to be painted over dirty walls. I'm really not that picky, but this was so gross I needed to leave a review. We ultimately stayed at the Opal but I was deciding between this hotel and the Opal and thank god we picked the Opal!…
