First of all when we got to Key West to check in we had to go to a sister hotel to check in and get our keys. If you’ve ever been to Key West you know the parking is horrible. We literally had to pay for parking to check in ($20.00). Our room wasn’t quite ready (we were a little early though) so we went and parked our car at An Island Oasis and had to walk back to the sister hotel to get our keys about a half hour later. All of the golf carts and scooters were already rented on Saturday so it was a long walk in the blazing heat. We couldn’t wait to jump in the pool at our hotel after the scorching walk only to find out that it wasn’t really a pool. It was an unheated hot tub. Very small. A lot of family rented in this hotel. We couldn’t all even fit in the unheated hot tub. Don’t be deceived by the photos on their website. There is NO POOL. The pool pictured in their ads belongs to the sister hotel. You can use that one if you can find any parking. We were in room 303. Do not let anyone rent you this room. It is so small that you can’t even pass each other in the room. I’m not kidding. One person must climb on the bed for the other to pass. (Even if you’re very thin). The bathroom was tiny too. The pocket door doesn’t even close all the way on the bathroom. Hope you’re not embarrassed to go to the bathroom with your spouse. We were in Key West for a wedding. We couldn’t even get dressed in our tiny room. We had to dress in another family members room which was much bigger. The property is full of leaves and debris. The rooms are adequately clean but not great. Good luck getting any more towels even if you’re staying more than one day such as we did. The shampoo and conditioner smells like decaying seaweed. Good thing we didn’t forget ours. Make sure to bring your own coffee and filters. Their coffee is awful and you won’t be able to get more. My recommendation is Don’t stay at An Island Oasis. It is not an oasis. The pictures on their site are deceptive.

Hotel looked like a historic house. Loved the feel of that. Only blocks from Duval street, super close to the beach. Decent parking. Wished they would have come in daily to clean room but only came every 3 days. They said was due to COVID. The hot tub certainly could have been hotter, it was set at pool temperature instead of hot tub temp. Would highly recommend this place.

The location was great - 2 blocks off of Duval, relatively quiet street, and nearby plenty of grassy areas (and dumpsters) for our pups to do their business. One block away from a dog "beach" (really a patch of sand). The room was comfortable. The bathroom was rather tiny with virtually no counter space - though the cabinet over the toilet sufficed. However, the shower didn't even have a spot to hold a bar of soap. Our room was next to the patio/jacuzzi area, which attracted folks at 2 am for nearly an hour one night playing music excessively loudly. The room though is a little overpriced. While we did have a fridge, microwave, and small dining table, the year prior we stayed at a location ON Duval and with a real kitchenette (sink, dishes, cutlery, etc. in addition to microwave and fridge) for less.

We had the pleasure of staying here for 2 nights in October, 2019 and the place was really nice. We were a bit nervous after we read some of the prior reviews as they said that the beds were terrible and that the place was dirty; that was not our experience. An Island Oasis is in an old house or inn, about 2 blocks away from the monument marking the southernmost point in the continental US. We had room 303 on the first floor on the right and it was excellent. The king bed was fine, in fact it might have been new, and everything was spotless. The room was small, but it was fine. Other than the king sized bed there was a dresser, two end tables, a small refrigerator and a microwave. The bathroom was nice, with a shower (no tub) and was connected to the bedroom via a pocket door. Soap and shampoo and a hair dryer were provided, and there were even fresh beach towels on each day. The location was good; it was two blocks off of Duval Street, Key West’s main street, on the quiet side of town. We walked to the center of town, and across town for the sunset and the ferry with no issues several times a day. I would only “ding” An Island Oasis for a couple of minor things: you check in in the middle of downtown on Duval Street, where it is difficult to park; there is no parking lot at the inn so you park on the street; and the air conditioner ran continually and was pretty loud. We had a good time and would stay here again.
