We stayed here for 2 nights. The owner was nice, but not very present. We were lucky to find a parking spot right out front and never moved! We were in room 2 at the top of the stairs. Room is small. Small bathroom and very small tile shower; good water pressure. I did like the bath products a lot! No tissues. Comfy bed, walls a little thin. The room was clean but really could have used a "deep clean". No coffee available unless during breakfast hours. Ice machine and hot tea though with an honor system for sodas. Breakfast was fine; mini quiches, pastry, yogurt, cereal. Great location; quiet and able to walk everywhere. Very close to the terminal for the Yankee Freedom Ferry to the Dry Tortugas. Price point is high overall, but considering it's Key West; it's on the lower side. I would stay here again.

We checked in late afternoon, all seemed ok but when we returned to the room in early evening discovered termites all over the bed. We called the emergency number and got an apology and assurance that we would be refunded in full. That was great but now we were stuck on a Friday/Sat nite to find other accommodations in Key West. Most shocking was that when we spoke in the morning to get the refund processed (after letting my husband know we were inconveniencing him as he was boiling eggs!), he was well aware of the issue and said he needed to get the room ready to re rent! Said some people don’t notice or care and he just continues to rent out the room as is! We did get the refund, but he did not care one bit how inconvenienced we were by the whole ordeal, and clearly doesn’t care if it happens again. I’d suggest you keep looking unless you don’t mind sharing your bed with termites!

We booked for a Friday and Saturday night. I expected a B&B feel in a older building. The 110 window a/c unit was having trouble keeping up with the 100+ heat index, but it was also not on until we checked in. It was extremely hot in our room until well into the evening. The room is a fine size, quaint. The flat screen is a dated 22 inch. But we weren’t there to watch tv. We were there to sleep. Which was painful! A queen broken down mattress. Springs making noise and sunken in the middle. A cheap topper was added but that didn’t help the metal mattress frame and roll to the middle. The pillows are nonexistent. The shower needs a good de-mold and regrout. We left after one night. No way we could take the heat and that mattress for another night! The ice machine is moldy. The staff was super nice!

Let me start by saying I really wish Trip Advisor offered half ratings (I would give this Inn a solid 3.5). The good: very comfortable bed & pillows, convenient location, extremely friendly staff/owners, clean room with ample space for luggage, etc, and they let us use the community fridge for our perishables. The okay: room was a decent size, depending upon when you arrive there is parking right on the street in front of the Inn, and there was a fair amount of breakfast options. Disclaimer: I am gluten intolerant - my only options were hard boiled eggs (which I do not enjoy eating) and yogurt. My husband however was able to enjoy a hearty breakfast each morning so if you can consume gluten this would be in the good category rather than the okay. The Not-So-Good: okay here’s the thing, I understand a lot of the buildings are older and it’s Key West (in July) but the room we were in would NOT stay cool for anything! We got maybe 3 hours of sleep each night because it was too hot to sleep no matter how hard we tried. There is no central air, only window units and so the middle of the building stays hot and the cool air from our room/window a/c was likely being pulled into the hallway under our door. It would probably not be an issue in say February when it’s not summer sun and 100° outside. The Bad: that window a/c unit? Covered in mildew & mold. It’s not so bad that the room smells bad, but for someone who’s highly allergic to every mold out there so for me this means by the time our two nights in Key West were over with I couldn’t hardly breathe. It’s been a few days and I’m still fighting my allergies and asthma. Also, and this was my fault for not reading the description well enough when booking (I looked at a LOT of places and things got mixed up in my head), if visiting in the summer keep in mind this Inn does not have a pool. Unfortunately I probably would not stay again. However, this adorable little Inn has a lot of charm so while it might not be a good fit for us, it might be perfect for you! Like I said, still a solid 3.5 out of 5 in my book.

I made last minute reservations for over the Christmas Holiday, but our plans changed and had to cancel. I feared being charged for the whole week's stay, however, we were given a complete refund with only a $20 surcharge. I can't wait to be able to visit this lovely Inn and enjoy the special accommodations so close to Duval Street and all the wonderful activities in Key West.
