This is a beautiful historic home set among lush landscaping, a block from Duval Street action. Nothing beats complimentary happy hour with live music, hot (although mediocre) breakfast, and zero resort fees! Seriously, aside from taxes, the price you see is the price you pay -- the number one reason we chose Curry Mansion!! The rooms are quaint and clean, but the water pressure in the shower left much to be desired. Then again this isn't your typical modern hotel. Overall, a super stay. Very friendly staff. Despite being solely responsible, Kelly rocked the front desk AND the happiest 2 hours of every evening as bartender. Rusty, the resident cat, despite aloofness enjoys mingling with guests too. I loved chatting with other couples in/near the small centralized pool or the front porch rocking chairs. We learned a lot about the local scene from the frequent flyers who have enjoyed their stays at Curry Mansion for years, even decades. Management, don't change a single awesome amenity (except for bringing back pre-pandemic quality) and we'll return as well!

We are long time guests of The Amsterdam Curry Mansion, over 15 years, and have always been happy to recommend staying here to friends and anyone who asked. HOWEVER, upon our recent visit, June 2022, we were horrified to see what the new management has turned The Mansion into. The love and care previously exhibited by Edith Amsterdam for her guests and her Mansion are no longer in existence. The new management has turned The Mansion into an overpriced economy hotel/motel, benefiting purely from its former reputation, location and parking. Points to note: Reception by Staff: In the past, several people in the front desk area, formerly Edith herself and then her daughter and other staff, were there to greet you with smiles and welcoming conversation. This time (arriving at 4pm) one indifferent person was there to check you in as well as being the only person on property to handle happy hour (5-7pm) and any other issues that arose then. During the rest of our stay we experienced a non-caring and, at times surly, male individual at the front desk, who was unprofessional at the very least. Room: Never have we paid so much for such a trashy room. Please see the pictures and note: 1} No canopy bed, but there is the broken headboard from one; 2) The bed was a mattress on top of a metal box; 3} The bedding didn’t fit the bed; 4) The minimal furniture didn’t match. There was a white wicker small table with two chairs accompanied by a beaten up brown wicker dresser, the broken headboard (previously mentioned and pictured) and a dirty wobbly ceiling fan that was not adjustable. Most important, note this is not what is pictured on their website and what we have personally experienced in the past. Pool: Is small but was adequate for an adult only facility which it used to be. Now there are kids in the pool with water guns, jumping and splashing, and dogs allowed to run around the pool deck and harass Rusty (the cat). AND this is going on during Happy Hour which takes place in the same area. In addition, the pool needs some major TLC. Pool Signs and Noise: Pool sign clearly states pool hours are dawn to dusk. However, a couple of nights there were loud people in the pool and surrounds partying at 1:30 am! Upon mentioning this very politely to the man in the office the next day, well….need we say more. He really didn’t care. Breakfast: Total flop. What we used to get for breakfast and what is available now are not even comparable; no fresh fruit, no multiple cereal choices, no bacon (which is listed on their order sheet but crossed out) but you do get stale bread with a poorly operating toaster, dry eggs and frozen hash brown patties. Seriously, you get better breakfasts at economy hotels/motels. Happy Hour: Again, there used to be a nice assortment of small fresh appetizers, i.e., fresh veggies, cubed cheese, dips (with a spoon to serve onto your small plate), crackers and a snack mix (again served with a spoon). Now, you get a bag of chips or pretzels until they run out and don’t get replenished. The Mansion: It is billed as an historic Victorian Mansion and open for tours, but they have cleared out the majority of the interesting antique furnishings in the front 3-4 rooms. The Final Straw: A guest came down with COVID or some other highly contagious disease as the wife and daughter in the family moved to another room and wore face masks constantly during the rest of their stay. However, we as guests were never notified of any potential problem. We say this very sadly, but SAVE YOUR MONEY and stay somewhere else. We will never return nor recommend The Mansion to anyone else.

The room was clean and the location is perfect. Right near Duval Street. But… this is no luxury B&B. Breakfast was OK. I enjoyed cereal each morning . On the 4th day they ran out of Frosted Flakes and I asked if they had more and was told NO. The fruit was not fresh but it was single serving plastic containers of fruit. I don’t eat eggs but they did offer omelets .. The Inn itself needs a lot of sprucing up, badly needs a paint job and the pool needs love and care as well. Staff was adequate but no one overly friendly at all. If you are used to staying at the Holiday Inn you would love it here. I guess I am just used to Innkeepers who go above and beyond.

This was my first time staying here. Very nice rooms, wonderful air conditioning, and Rusty the cat living there! It is right off Duval St. so everything is walkable. Made to order breakfast was the same each morning but that's ok. Free happy hour every night. Staff was wonderful.

My wife and I travel worldwide, have stayed in B&Bs all over the United States for over 30 years, reside in Fort Myers, FL which has high-speed direct ferry service to Key West and have visited this town by cruise ship, car, ferry and air. We have come, therefore, to expect a certain level of service when staying at a B&B. Key West has never been a cheap place to stay, but at $700/night for what turned out to be just an ordinary room with bare furnishings and the decor of a cheap motel it was hard not to be disappointed. Their happy hour consisted of booze and bags of Doritos and breakfast was a poorly cooked two eggs, previously frozen hash brown wedge, toast and 2 sausages. All in all, this "mansion" spends about $10 per day on amenities. You do get convenient access to Duval St. and nearby restaurants but what a sad disappointment and waste of money.

We spent 2 nights at the wonderful, historic Amsterdam’s Curry Mansion. We arrived on the Key West Express Ferry and easily walked to the Mansion. The Mansion lets you check in at 2:00 which is great. We traveled with another couple, we stayed in the main house, they stayed near the pool. Both rooms were perfect. Kelly checked us in and was friendly and informative. The decor is so historic, we are so glad we did not stay in a modern hotel…so boring. The location is wonderful, you can walk to most Key West sites. We did hear noise from Duval late at night, but we knew this might happen, so we brought ear plugs. The hotel offers cook to order eggs in the morning, also providing, toast, muffins fruit and juice. There is a 2-hour manager happy hour each night! We had drinks, sat on the front porch played games and enjoyed the Mansion. On our last day the ferry did not leave until later so the Mansion stored our luggage and allowed us to use the shower near the pool to freshen up. Overall, it was a most excellent stay!!

I just came across the advert for the Curry Mansion Inn and had to say what memories it brought back of our stay over 20 years ago. We received a wonderful welcome and once the owners discovered we were British, they insisted on us having one of the canopied bed rooms. During the daytime we had to leave our door open and a chain across so visitors could still look inside. It sounds as if its all the same with a charming breakfast and an even better Happy Hour with Billy Nine Fingers playing the piano. Happy memories.

The Curry Mansion Inn is an historic bed and breakfast in a wonderful central location of the Historic District of Key West. It is around the corner from the famous Duval Street with its many shops and restaurants, yet far enough from the noise and crowds. It is about a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and other points of Interest. There are several types of accommodations available; 4 rooms in the historic mansion with its beautiful antiques, several rooms in the guest wing out by the pool, and in a vintage home across the street. They all are different, so be sure to select what you want. Price includes a cooked to order breakfast each day, offering eggs, cereal, fruit, muffins, juice and coffee, and an afternoon wine/cocktail reception with a guest musician at the pool area. Staff and guests were all friendly. I understand there are new owners and a remodel will take place in the future. However, I would mention that we originally booked room 211 in the mansion and were advised that it is one of the smallest, “Cozy Queen” rooms. We requested an upgrade if one became available; that did not happen so the first night we spent in that room and it was not satisfactory. Very small, 1 uncomfortable chair for seating and a noisy air conditioner right next to the bed which blew directly on you. The next morning, we were happy to find that we could move to a much larger room on the same floor which had 2 bathrooms, comfortable seating, a totally different experience. The staff was more than willing to accommodate us as well as help with sightseeing, dinner, etc. The location, staff and amenities made this a terrific stay, and ai look forward to seeing what the renovated future looks like at Curry Mansion!

We stayed here last year on our stay to Key West and just fell in love with it. It has sold and they have new owners and some things are a little different. They advertise that you can get your boarding passes printed there.....they no longer have a PC for public use and they would not do it for us and didn't really seem to want to help with that. The suggestions they had for us didn't work. Thank goodness the airport is really small and we got our boarding passes there. The hash browns at breakfast are just frozen ones they fix and they are not very tasty. We ended up eating some of our breakfasts out. The evening wine and entertainment is nice....we met some fun guests there. We were told that they will be shutting down for a while in order to do some updates, they didn't no how long that's going to take. Our room was nice and large and well maintained and always clean. The location is the best ever.

The bed was fairly comfortable, breakfast good, the front porch was nice...the happy hour was cheap wine and chips...we expected better for the price we paid The furniture in the room was old (and not antique)...front rooms filled with boxes. Rugs were old in the room and the balcony looked over the air conditioning next door so was very noisy and unusable. Reception was a bit surly - not customer focused at all. We will not be back!
