The Perry Hotel Key West garners mixed reviews, with guests lauding its vibrant atmosphere, replete with live music, and modern decor. Many guests appreciate the tranquil location and marina views, although some find it a bit remote. The hotel's amenities, including pristine pools, varied dining options, and shuttle services, receive high praise for enhancing guest relaxation. However, opinions on service and room quality vary, with some guests encountering issues like noise and maintenance. Although cleanliness is consistently applauded, the added fees have led some to question the hotel's overall value.

We went to Key West for an OutStandingintheField.com event on Stock island, The Perry looked great and convient to the event and allowed us to visit Key West easily without all the crazy traffic.
We received a call prior to our arrival from one of the concierge on staff and they asked if we had any special needs or requests (nice touch) on arrival we were upgraded to a better room.
the greet staff is exceptional, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel sits right on the harbor and marina so there are boats and water for viewing and charters.
Our room was on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the marina and one of the pools at the resort, it came with comfortable chairs for relaxing and a table. The room itself is nicely appointed and the hotel has embraced the idea of recycling by putting liquids in permanent containers for bath etc. Bathrobes are provided, as well as a coffee machine, safe and plenty of storage. The shower comes with two heads, one is a wand and they worked perfectly.
Unfortunately the weather was really cool and windy so we didn't go down to the pool (pools) but they are beautifully maintained and staffed and there are outdoor restaurants near by to each.
We did eat at the main restaurant one night and unfortunately we were not impressed, my wife grouper was over cooked and we waited far to long to get out food. The staff was accommodating and brought her another dish but that kind of set the mood. Parts of the meal were very innovative and I certainly would try the restaurant again possibly and off night. the wine selection is decent although a bit pricey, but you do have to get everything to Key West on a one lane road.

We recently came back from our first trip to Key West staying at the Perry Hotel on Stock Island for a whole week. Being aware of the COIVD-19 pandemic we booked a suite with a large balcony/terrace. The latter was a very good choice because we spent a lot of time on our private terrace. The suite was nice with a separate bedroom and actually a full and a half bathroom. Some minor touch ups or cleaning in the room for example on the outdoor furniture or replacing from sun shades they might consider before high season start again for them in Key West. The first or second night the guests one floor below had quite a party on their balcony which went past midnight – we did not complain about it but wondered when/if the hotel management will intervene and make them tune it down.

The hotel staff was very friendly and tried to help as much as they can during this difficult time where room and restaurant services were very limited. For example, to get food from the pool bar or coffee in the morning, we actually had to go there to order and/or pick it up. And the masks caused some confusion where I ordered for example ‘two hot milks’ (for the coffee) but ended up getting ‘two (hot) oat meals’. The two pools are of decent size and kept clean. The hotel staff followed safety measures such as wearing masks and adhering to social distancing, however, some of the hotel guests seems not to believe that COVID is real. And as soon as there was no enforcing person around, we saw people take off their masks, for example in the hourly shuttle to downtown Key West. While we liked the hotel and the staff, the fact that many people in Florida seem to approach COVID differently than us (with one of us working in health care in a large medical center), put a real damper on our trip and made us for example not go to restaurants as much or even book any sailing or boat tours. The silver lining for us: we spent less money on this vacation than we usually would do.

Dear TDM-Travel, Thank you for choosing The Perry Hotel at Stock Island Marina and taking the time to write your review! Our guest’s safety and experience are always our top priorities and we truly appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to host you at our one-of-a-kind destination. We’re so happy you enjoyed your suite, private terrace, and service from our team members, and thank you for recognizing our property-wide commitment to cleanliness. We’re sorry to learn about the noise from the room below you and that it impacted your stay – please know our management team is always available 24/7 and if we had the opportunity to learn about this feedback during your stay we would have addressed immediately! Your vacation is important to us and we’re always here to assist in any way possible. In regards to the pandemic, we respect everyone’s opinion and approach to safety but can only speak for our property. As you experienced during your stay, we take the safety and wellbeing of our guest’s very seriously, which is why we have a property-wide policy enforcing masks indoors (including our shuttle service), as well as outdoors (when 6-feet of social distancing is not possible). We are very lucky to be the only property in the Florida Keys providing over 40 acres of open air island experiences including restaurants, waterfront pools, water activities, and world-class amenities – each lending itself to social distancing. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback and for choosing to stay with us at The Perry Hotel. Stay safe and healthy, and we hope to welcome you back in the future!

If you just want the wildness of Key West then don’t stay here BUT if you want the flexibility of having a chill atmosphere only minutes from Duval street this is the place for you

Located on up and coming Stock Island , the Perry showcases 3 restaurants, non stop happy hours from 4-8 and wonderful views of a bet marina. Granted some of the room views can be of a parking lot so be careful of your choices
A dog park, hammock stations and a new distillery round out your choices of fun .
We found service to be prompt, drinks great and food overall very tasty (albeit a bit pricey)
My only complaints were minimal, literally the walls in the hallway are bare and I felt some decoration would give the hotel a less dorm style feel. Otherwise a beautiful lobby and grounds await you.
Our room was a king size bed overlooking the water. Very nice and beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Look for deals online for room discounts or credits
The shuttle to downtown runs hourly until 9pm. A nice service and always on time . After that it’s about a $20 Uber back to the hotel

No complaints from me about this but some folks may want later service

My pet peace , the resort fee is in play at the Perry like most luxury hotels these days . It covers ridiculous things like WiFi and shuttle service which shot be included anyway but don’t stress over it. It’s part of the hotel environment these days. I hate it but there is not much u can do

All in all we loved the Perry and would love to see what it looks like next year when that part of Stock Island is complete .

We came to Key West for the Key West Half Marathon. We chose The Perry Hotel because it was listed on the race website and that it provided a shuttle to downtown Key West.

On race day, the hotel did not provide multiple runners transportation to downtown Key West, as their usual shuttle does not start running until 9am. However, all runners and hotel guests were counting on the shuttle back to the hotel after 9am.

When we arrived to the shuttle pick up point at 10:25am, there were several other hotel guests already waiting. Other guests also came by after 10:30, to find still no shuttle, and they said they also had no 9:30am, first shuttle.

We called the hotel, that stated they couldn’t get to the usual pick up point because of the race. (This was not likely true, since we saw uber and other cars at the pick up point). The hotel asked us to walk to “The Ferry Terminal” where the shuttle could get to. So all runners had to walk approx 0.9 miles to this other location...after we just completed a race. Halfway there, the hotel calls and states the shuttle could make it to the original location. That they were going to send another shuttle from the hotel now. Would get there 20 mins from now.

We continued to wait, now almost 35 mins after shuttle was due. Other guests gave up and ordered an uber, which arrived to the location within 1 min.

We basically wasted almost an hour waiting for the shuttle to get us back to the hotel. The hotel manager seemed surprised at the entire issue. But then gave us the same excuses of “there was a race”, and “shuttle couldn’t get through”.

I am a frequent destination racer and stay at the sponsor hotels because they usually take extra good care of their runner hotel guests.

The Perry Hotel treated us like we were such an inconvenience to them. They acted like they never had this race experience before, even though it was the races 22nd year.

The hotel was well designed, but the staff and their service left much to be desired. This is not a hotel I would stay if I were to ever visit Key West again.

Be warned, you won’t feel special staying at this hotel.

We booked The Perry Hotel thinking it would be a relaxing place to stay. The room/balcony/service is great, but I cannot figure out why they just let people mosey on into the pool area. One guy even came up and asked if he could "use our towel because his was on his boat!" We had a great room facing the pool, but the Saturday we were here there were over 40 people just "hanging IN the pool." There is a loud vibe - and it's fine, I guess. BUT if you're spending $700 per night for a room, you expect to have the pool be a place of refuge, not a party for outsiders. I'm sorry, but get some security and make people swipe their card to get into the pool area. And, if you're looking for a quiet vacation avoid The Perry Hotel. The rooms are cool and the vibe is cool - but, it's overpriced for what it is.

We traveled here with great expectations but were met with a Miami-esque hotel in a shady part of town. Coming off the highway onto the connecting streets we immediately questioned our choice of hotel.
Pulling up to the hotel, it’s a good looking hotel but definitely fits in Miami rather than The Keys. When we walked in and up to the front desk we were met with less than a warm welcome by the lackluster front desk staff. However, upon checkout the gentleman at the front desk was polite, happy and welcoming.
The rooms are modern and updated and housekeeping does a very good job at ensuring rooms were clean. We had a street/tree racing view which did provide a great view for the setting sun.
What we didn’t like was the fact that the hotel front doors lock down at 9pm, and while there is a hotel shuttle, it only departs on the hour heading to Duval Street so you need to be downstairs, in the driveway and at the pick up point 20-30 mins before departure to ensure you get on. The driver we had multiple times seemed nice but is in no hurry to get you there so expect a 30 minute ride. The last shuttle picks up from Duval Street at around 9pm which is basically useless for anyone who wants to actually spend some time on Duval Street at night. Make sure you have your Uber and Lyft apps on your phone as they were our rides back to the hotel every night.
The pool is ok and provides a view of the marina. There is a shortage of chairs so make sure to get down there early. Towels are only provided by an employee and they mark down how many you take. On the plus side, they do have staff readily available for drink and food orders and they are always asking and making sure guests are ok.
On one day we walked out of the elevators to a wet floor being mopped and no signs warning us. Both of us nearly took a fall.
Oh, if you expect to eat or drink, get it done before 10pm because that’s the closing time for the bars and restaurants. While it may be a great place for some, for us, it was OK but we won’t be back.
Read the reviews, scroll thru the guests pictures and make your decision.

I really wanted this to be a 5 star review and trust me, had I reviewed the first time I stayed 3 years ago, it would have been. Unfortunately, this time I can’t say the same is true.

First, let’s talk about COVID precautions. I was super impressed that hand sanitizer pumps are readily available, just about everywhere. Additionally there’s signage posted to elaborate on extra cleaning procedures and elevators are limited to one party. The pool area has signage telling everyone to wipe down their chair before and after use. This is where it goes down hill. I sat out on my porch for 4 hours one day and not a single person took the time to wipe down their chair. Additionally not a single staff member walked through the area, meaning absolutely no upped cleaning procedures as noted throughout the hotel. When later going down to the pool, we realized there were no wipes to actually clean with as also posted. I went and asked for assistance and a bottle of disinfectant and paper towels were brought. Though with no hand sanitizer in the pool area, you’ve now created a high touch point with the bottle and have no way to properly cleanse your hands after handling.

Let’s move on to our room. We were assigned room 218. If you get assigned this room in the future immediately ask for another! It’s right next to housekeeping and/or an employee break space. We had to have heard that damn door slam over 100 times and at all hours of the night. It was CONSTANT. By our 3rd day after being rudely awoken for the umpteenth time I called the front desk and asked for a new room. Natalie, at the front desk, was incredibly patient and promptly assigned us a new room.

I should also note they decided to test the fire alarms on our last day but we weren’t notified until returning back to our room the night before. A little bit more notice would have been appreciated as to appropriately plan our days better.

All in all, we love The Perry and will be back, but they seem a little discombobulated right now. Definitely bring your own Clorox wipes!

First I would like to say that the best thing about this resort was the shuttle service to downtown. The following are my major complaints about this hotel:

Check in was 30 minutes late even though I emailed the resort to let them know when we were arriving. Another couple were waiting for their room as well.

The pool areas were small, but the biggest issue was that the chairs, umbrellas and shade covering all had various stages of mold and mildew on them as well a splinters in the loungers.

The hours for the restaurant, bar and convenience store not very convenient. If you wanted to have something to eat after 9PM, you are out of luck. There aren’t even any vending machines on the property.

The cleanliness of the resort was not up to the standards of the previous to resorts we have stayed in. Due to COVID-19 we expected there would be some changes; like, there was no daily maid service unless specifically requested. Willing to adapt we asked for towels daily and the room cleaned every other day. That request was ignored until I went to the front desk to ask about our room. The cleaning staff seemed to be more interested by their phones rather than doing their jobs. Just one example, a piece of gum was on the top step in the stairwell was there on the day we arrived and was still their on the day we left.

The final insult was while checking out the resort tried to charge us for meal at one of their restaurants that we had never even ate at. The resort did apologize for the mixup, but the whole situation was the watery icing on top of a stale cake.

I would not recommend this resort for people who like I do, want a clean place to spend our vacation.

We appreciate your feedback regarding your recent stay with us and take your comments very seriously. We're happy you enjoyed the shuttle service but saddened to hear we did not deliver on the typical guest experience and 5-star reputation we are known for for the rest of your stay. We do our best to honor special requests for early check-in, however, unfortunately we cannot make any guarantees until check-in at 4pm. This is sometimes due to the prior guest's time of departure, to ensure our housekeeping team has enough time to clean and sanitize, maintenance requests, and more. Due to COVID-19, we do request permission from each of our guests for housekeeping service to enter rooms and apologize if our team was late or missed service and appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we could remedy immediately. We have also shared your feedback regarding the attentiveness of our team with management which has already been addressed with each individual department to ensure the dedication and commitment we are known for always stays top of mind. Our onsite bars and restaurants close at 10pm which we understand may be early for some, but with an intimate boutique property we never want our bars or restaurants to interfere with other guest experiences. We did just open a village market (The Stock Shop) that is open from 7am-7pm as well which is ideal for picking up any provisions for your stay or even just an early morning cup of coffee. We are also in the process of adding a 24-hour pantry in our lobby for any late night bites and our team is always happy to assist with recommendations for local restaurant delivery. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and we hope we've helped address any concerns. We invite you to reach out to our Guest Experience Manager, Adelheid, at asalas@stockislandmarina.com with any additional feedback or questions. We would love the opportunity to host you again and show you a typical Perry experience. We look forward to hearing from you!

Don’t get me wrong, the hotel is pretty and all. The staff greeted us with a glass of champagne. We had let them know on our reservation we were celebrating our honeymoon. The friendly front desk staff congratulated us and told us that because we were celebrating, they would like to offer us an upgraded room overlooking the water rather than the “garden view” aka the parking lot and dumpsters out back (the photo I’ve uploaded). We got all excited and thanked him and then he hit us with the “it’s typically a $200 per night upgrade but I will give it to you for only $100 per night.” What a let down-don’t say you’re going to upgrade us and THEN say we would have to pay an extra $200? No way. Also- the resort fee was just as expensive as a much nicer resort we had stayed at. The other resort had TONS of amenities (snorkeling, kayaks, hammocks, multiple pools, etc). Perry’s amenities were basically the champagne ($12 champagne), a shuttle to key west, and two cocktail vouchers. While the shuttle was great, this was not worth paying an extra $100 in “resort fees”. This is not a resort. It’s a hotel.

We did use our drink vouchers at the Salty Oyster. We ended up paying for a second round because they were so good. The poolside area had a fire pit and nice seating to enjoy your drinks. The room was nice and clean, however the functional design was really strange. The shower curtain was ridiculously close to the wall and you can’t shower without the cold curtain getting stuck on you. There was also barely a tiny rubber barrier to stop the water in the shower-ours ended up getting water ALL over the bathroom floor (i’m guessing they knew that would happen since there was another drain on the bathroom floor). Overall, we would not stay here again or recommend.

This was our first time visit to Key West and we could not have been happier. The Perry Hotel had an amazing and helpful staff of managers, reception people, chef (Paul) & restaurant waitstaff, house cleaners, and bartenders. Whoever hires staffing at The Perry deserves an award. The property is amazing on a gorgeous marina, grounds with 2 pools and a beautiful gym. The privacy is wonderful too. And if you want to go to the bars and other restaurants in Key West, you’re only a 3 mile drive away. The Perry is the best!
