We had a highway facing room. Road nose wasn’t an issue. The room was very clean and had a fridge and microwave. Small table there as well. The best part was beachfront so a very short walk past the pool was a beach. There were plenty of lounge chairs a small covered area with picnic tables. It was very relaxing. There were small cottages that are closer to the water but none are far. Would stay here in a minute! Oh forgot the night blooming cactus was amazing! The landscaping here is list and well cared for!
Our family of four (kids aged 5 and 7) traveled with our friends (kids aged 6 and 8) at the end of February and had a truly wonderful experience. We felt welcomed by the friendly staff from the start, and they were quick to help with local recommendations. Fishing and watching sunsets from the docks and pier were highlights, as were finding the iguanas of different sizes and colors that roam the property. The pool was always warm enough that even the tiniest member of our group could play in it for hours without getting cold. Everything you could need is provided by the resort--taking the kayaks and paddleboat out are a must-do! We even saw a group of gentle manatees while we were on the water about a foot away from us! I think the kids would have happily lived here if that was an option. Great value for the price, ideal and idyllic location (hooray for the bay side with its calm waters and stunning sunsets), and lovely hosts. Don't waste time and money at "fancy" resorts....book here! …
A nice quiet and peaceful place. We love the common area near the water. Beautiful sunset from the dock. Good location near town but not in the congested part of Key largo. Well worth the money that is charged. This would be a good place to take a family.
My husband and I stayed here in March for two nights. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. It's a nice property with a small beach, very nice pool, and a great deck to watch the sunset. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we ever go back to Key Largo.
We were visiting Key Largo for scuba diving so we decided to stay at Rock Reef Resort which is less than 3-miles south of the scuba charter docks, making it the perfect base for a few days of diving and to explore the area. The hotel is the quintessential Florida Keys resort — small, locally owned and with a friendly staff. Choose between stand-alone cottages or standard hotel rooms, some with complete kitchens. While the interior decor was slightly dated, our room was clean and very comfortable. Because the resort is on the bayside of the island means this is an excellent place to watch the sunset and their pier, complete with cabana, has the primo vantage-point. One of the highlights of the resort are the free kayaks which you can launch right from their small beach to explore the shallow waters surrounding Key Largo — go just before dusk and watch the sunset from your kayak. A small pool, hammocks, boat slips for rent and a quirky bonsai garden round out the other amenities worth mentioning. The prices were very fair for the quality of the resort so I would highly-recommended.…
