Fantastic stay at Bay Harbor. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The location is great, the staff is very helpful. Can't figure out why it is a 3-star level hotel: I think it should be rated higher. Scones were great, and Peg is a delight. We will stay again, for sure.
wonderful stay for a peaceful.relaxing week on beautiful grounds. The scones were a nice treat in the morning. the staff were super friendly and polite. the cottages were just what we were looking for, and the sunsets over the bay were breathtaking. We can't wait to return. Thank you Jonathan and staff for everything you did to make our stay memorable.
Great stay and friendly staff! And the scones and coffee in the morning are great! Room and grounds were clean and beautiful. My only complaint is the $20 a day charge for children over 13, being that my children didn’t eat or do anything more than what a younger child would.
ideal location for a quiet getaway. the grounds are stunning, the rooms are surrounded by meticulously manicured tropical gardens with cabana sitting areas nestled in the lush greenery. The lodge is located on Florida Bay which offers a spectacular view of sunset, has its own private beach with kayaks and paddleboards available. There is also a pool on the grounds that is surrounded by coconut palm trees. My wife and I both agree that the peaceful, quiet, tranquil atmosphere here at the bay harbor lodge is hard to find anywhere and worth every penny. Have to give a shout out to Jonathan, the owners son, who was attentive to our every need and always willing to engage in great conversation.
This was the perfect hotel. Not too expensive. Central. Easy access to the other Keys and the Everglades. The landscaping was incredible and I loved all the tropical plants and fruit trees. It was like staying in a beautiful jungle :)
Bay Harbor Lodge is nestled in a canopy of beautiful and majestic flowers and plants. The location is situated off a busy road, but still maintains the quiet and serenity typically found in a more remote setting. The buildings of the property are reminiscent of a 1950's era, however, the rooms have been renovated. Our room (number 8) was small, equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. Unfortunately, our bed was not comfortable due to the extremely soft mattress provided. Overall, this property is beautiful with a dock overlooking gorgeous sunsets in the evening. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Coffee and delicious scones are a welcome surprise for guests to enjoy. We also enjoyed swimming and lounging in the pool . I would very much recommend Bay Harbor Lodge when vacationing in Key Largo. …
We stayed for a week in room 8. I'm out minds the positives are the well maintained, beautiful, lush grounds, convenient location, the pool, the coffee & scones, the sunsets from the beach, and the very friendly and kind staff. The only negatives were the mattress was too soft(lacking support) and the wall sound penetration. Overall a good experience and I would recommend.
Absolutely wonderful. The garden is amazing, lovely beach, delicious scones freshly baked every morning. Friendly and very helpful staff. We loved our stay here! Will definitely be back again and send some friends over as they too need to experience a little bit of paradise
My partner and I had a short getaway and stayed here. It is a peaceful property and we were able to snorkel right off of their beach. Guests can also use the kayaks and SUPs provided by the resort, but we didn't have enough time for that. The beach area has shallow water that extends far off from shore, and lots of adults and children seemed to enjoy wading. Lots of nice beach chairs and loungers for a beautiful view of the sunset, and palm trees provided ample shade for lots of the day. There are also plenty of areas for sunbathers if that's your fancy. We stayed in room 8, which is a comfortable little efficiency hotel room. It includes a microwave, drip coffee maker, and a fridge, and a nice big bathroom. It had everything we needed, including beach towels. Do be aware that our room, which was on the ground floor, did get a decent amount of noise from our upstairs neighbors walking around and talking at a normal volume, so note that the soundproofing is not great. We generally did fine with it but if you are a person who needs a lot of quiet it may be a consideration when you choose a room. The scones and coffee in the mornings were super! There is no bar or restaurant on the property itself, but we were able to store some beverages and snacks by visiting the Publix up the road. Sal's Ballyhoo's is within an easy walking distance across the road, and we had two fabulous dinners there - highly recommend for excellent seafood and friendly service. This hotel is also really convenient to John Pennekamp State Park. We would stay here again.…
Nice cozy resort property. Lush greenery creates a variety of intimate areas for relaxing, conversation, reading. Boats are included at no extra fee. Owner bakes scones daily in a variety of flavors and serves coffee/tea. Friendly staff eager to help. Room was small but spotlessly clean; bathroom had custom beach stonework.
