From the moment I met Heidi at check in I was delighted with this resort. The genuine warm reception, the spacious rooms, gorgeous views, peaceful surrounds, fabulous pool, cute lizards, great holiday advice - Kona Kai has it all. A quiet location close to restaurants and attractions yet also a destination on its own. Wow!

We stayed here for two nights and were the only guests! September is a quiet time in Key Largo and we had the place all to ourselves. We stayed in the Mango room. The room was nicely decorated and furnished. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was vintage but perfectly functional and the shower had great water pressure.... More

Spent two quiet, peaceful days at the Kona Kai during the slow season in the Keys. This small resort, maybe 10 or 12 units has beautiful, lush landscaping, and bright, higher end rooms. Nice pool area includes a hot tub, 5 1/2 foot pool and a small cooler with free bottled water and fruit. There is a sandy "beach" area... More

This was one of the most beautiful places I've stayed in Key Largo. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Your stay includes Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Ping Pong playing, hammocks, a beautiful pool with hot tub looking at the night sky and much more.. I proposed to my partner on this trip and it was the perfect location with the... More

The Kona Kai is still the most beautiful grounds of any resort in key largo of which I am aware. Their recent upgrades have made it even nicer and more convenient. From their full coverage WiFi (professional 802.11{b,g,n,ac}, not some home made patchwork) with no signal competition (no interference) to the brand new kayaks, paddle boat, and paddle boards; the... My husband and I had a relaxing and refreshing vacation at Koni Kai. We enjoyed the quiet adult only atmosphere. The mornings were silent as we slept in, and the afternoons were refreshing while swimming in the pool, those evenings were magical as we watched the beautiful sunsets. Our dinner choice was Ballyhoos, and it was a wonderful combination with... More

We decided to head to Key LARGO for my birthday at the end of July. Not a lot of vacancy in Key LARGO due to "mini lobster season". However, we have wanted to try Kona Kai Resort for awhile and they had some rooms available. We love Key LARGO as it us (usually) an easy 2 1/2 hour drive from... More

The setting could not be more idyllic. There are only 13 units and you almost never see another soul except in some distant chair gazing out to the bay. The garden's trees and plants surround each separate unit and the birds and insects are all that you hear. The beach is immaculate, tended and raked daily. The kayaks and paddle... More

I have stayed at Kona Kai two times in the past year, once with my husband for our 20th anniversary and then again on a girl's trip. The property is magnificent with a beautiful view of the water from the property and the fabulous pier. Both rooms were spacious, clean, well appointed and the BEST pillows ever. Felt like I... We went with another Florida couple for a 3 day getaway. We rented a 2 br suite (king and queen beds. It was clean quiet and very comfortable. Room amenities were some that we had never seen in comparable places. Extra hooks, towel racks and even portable reading lights by the bed. Kona Kai is on the bay side. We... More
