This resort is immaculate, tropical and well run. The staff was professional and willing to do anything to make my stay comfortable. I felt like this was “old Florida “ at its finest. The sunsets were priceless, there are dozens of restaurants nearby, the best review I can give is to say I’ll be back, in fact, I’ve already made a reservation for next year.
Very impressed by this location. Beautiful location, close to literally anything you need. The paddle boards and kayaks were included and so much fun! Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a lovely and not resort type fun!
My husband and I visited Kona Kai while Key hopping for our 25th wedding anniversary in May. This is the cutest little resort ever and the staff is the friendliest we've encountered. They are so kind and gave us lots of suggestions for restaurants and made our reservations for us. The resort is quiet and tranquil. The garden is beautiful and beach is private. The pool is small, but nice and there are shady areas to relax in. Grab a book and read in the hammock on the beach. Rooms are like small apartments with a living area and full kitchen. This worked great for us as he's a morning person and I'm a night owl. Highly recommend doing a jet sky tour while you're there. The island is beautiful and by water is a great way to take it all in. If you are looking for a quaint little resort with super friendly staff, Kona Kai is the place for you.…
Ballyhoos across the street is just delicious, service with kindness. I was staying in Pomelo. smallest room in the house but just perfect for me and my boyfriend. PS: make sure you ask to see Hope. she’s the furry desk associate. 🐶
What a fabulous experience, form guest services to the comfort of the room. Walking distance to Ballyhoos with amazing fresh fish and salads, we ate there everyday after watching the stunning sunsets from the private pier. A much do can’t wait to go back the spot for me in the keys!
From the moment I booked our trip with Kathryn, we were treated like royalty! She even called me later with recommendations for hotels at our other destinations in the Keys (we stayed at both and were very happy!) We had to reschedule due to Covid, but they remembered us like it was yesterday. From our "welcome home" at Reception with Zee to our check out, we loved Kona Kai. The accommdations were beautiful and you could tell they maintained everything carefully (not so at many other places after Covid) and the property overall was pristine. Cannot say enough about the pool, shaded lounge chairs and the VIEW--sunsets to die for from the private dock every evening. We never travel like this and were just so pleased with everything Kathryn, Zee and DeeDee offered to us.
My husband and I just returned from a blissful week spent at the Kona Kai. Everything on this resort property fits us perfectly. We love that it’s mostly couples staying here. The peace and relaxation offered, the beauty, the location, the kind and dedicated staff, and so much else are so amazing. Kathryn and Dee Dee were so welcoming and accommodating for all our needs. The staff kept the grounds well cared for and were delightful while being careful to not intrude. It’s clear that there are high standards for every aspect of your guest experience. Our suite was like a small house with every conceivable amenity available. It was so incredibly spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. There was a lovely reading chair in front of the windows so I could alternately read and enjoy the changing colors across the bay. We loved being able to alternate swims in the bay with dips in the pool and jacuzzi. The body’s relaxation deepens with each day spent at the Kona Kai. There is a remarkable sense of time slowing while every lasting iota of stress simply melts away. Bravo, Kona Kai! As you know, we are coming back next year for more of your charm and elegance, and we cannot wait!…
Well very Disappointed from costumer service. To expensive plus overrated. Save that money and book at the holiday Inn. Overall for excitement you have a Dennys egh..always feels like you are being watched. Weird...easy pass for me!!! Shame on you guys!
This was the perfect spot for a getaway in the keys. Grounds are stunning, rooms are immaculate, the whole property is full of lush character. Kona Kai provides a real boutique experience that is unmatched in the Keys. The ladies who hosted us were warm and welcoming… and our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!
From the second that we stepped foot onto this gorgeous property, we immediately relaxed into the beautiful environment. After spending two days in Miami, this was the exact medicine that the doctor ordered. Our accommodations were lovely and beautifully decorated with wonderful amenities and we really appreciated having a kitchen, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and oven. There is also an awesome water and ice dispenser in the middle of the property so that you can fill up your water bottle whenever you choose. The owner and staff were extremely gracious and accommodating and went out of their way to make recommendations and find out any information that we needed. Finally, the grounds and resort are stunning. Every inch of this property is just beautiful and you can really create your own unique experience depending on whether you want to relax or partake in activities. We cannot wait to come back!!!…
