What a unique adventure. We had a great time. Everyone there was super friendly and took great care of us. We dove down to the lodge around lunch time and they had lunch waiting for us when we arrived. There were diving classes happening that same day so once we made it to the lodge we stayed because it was too murky to see anything if we ventured out again. Inside there was a kitchen/sitting area with a couch tables and TV. We watched TV all night. The team delivered pizza and salads to us that night by diving them down to us. Two bedrooms were on the opposite side with two bunk beds. Bottom bunk is big enough for 2. They can and helped us get ready to dive out the next morning around 8:00 am. No safety stop necessary. You just can't fly or dive again for 24 hours. It was 70 degrees inside the lodge. Some of the scuba class students swam past our bubble window while we were watching TV so that was cool. There is also a shower down there you can rinse off for the night.

Spending the night at Jules Undersea Lodge has been on my husband’s bucket list for a very long time. This adventure was everything we hoped for and more. We had excellent communication with the staff before we even arrived. They are all extremely friendly, organized and detail oriented. Daniel and Robert helped us with all of our equipment and were very patient. The lodge was well stocked with fruit, bagels, muffins and various snacks. The pizza/sub delivery was just too cool. We loved sleeping with the fish, but the highlight was seeing all the fish on our exit dive. We definitely recommend.

I'm a professional technical and cave diving instructor who served as the training director for 2 certification agencies, and I'm a recipient of the SSI Platinum Pro 5000 Award for making over 5,000 lifetime dives in a 38 year career. I did two missions in Jules' Undersea Lodge: Mission #4005 in 2009, where my girlfriend and I completed the PADI Underwater Habitat Diver specialty course, and Mission #4109 in 2011, where we received the PADI Aquanaut Recognition for a dive that lasted longer than 24 hours. I couldn't believe how much fun we had! I had made many pop-ups into the wet room when working as a SCUBA instructor in Key Largo and teaching classes in the lagoon. There is nothing like the experience of living underwater! Making a nocturnal excursion with lots of bioluminescence, returning to the glow of the moon pool, getting out of our gear, changing into my favorite jeans and T-shirt, and watching the video, "Hello, Down There!" about living in an underwater habitat while living in an underwater habitat was beyond cool. When I was 4 years old, I used to watch the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, "Sealab 2020," on Saturday mornings. I can honestly say, that if you could only ever do 1 scuba diving experience, this would take the cake! I became as excited as a kid at Christmas! During our second mission, the landline phone had been installed and we received a wrong number call. The woman on the other end hung up in disbelief that she reached two divers 5 fathoms below the surface in Key Largo, FL. I would totally recommend this experience for a romantic getaway unlike any other, for grown-ups who are kids at heart, for families who really want to share a relaxing yet extraordinary experience together, or for students, boy scouts, or girl scouts who want to learn about life underwater. Jules' offers something for everyone. You can just be a slam-clicker and shut yourself off from the world with the quiet hum of the habitat for company, or you can take certification courses and enrich yourself with a knowledge of habitat operations and play outside during multiple excursions. Completely amazing! Just don't expect pretty blue water in the lagoon. Enjoy the greenish mystery and live the dream. We booked the place for ourselves and enjoyed it to the fullest.

My wife discovered this hidden gem for my son's 14th Birthday. From booking to check-in Sebrina and Teresa answered every question quickly and courteously to prepare us for our visit. Once on-site we attended a safety briefing, changed into our gear, gathered our overnight belongings, and descended into the lagoon. I felt like an 8 year old coming up from the moon-pool and emerging into the undersea pressurized habitat complete with WiFi. For 3 people it was very roomy and the bunks, atmosphere and snacks were perfect. After an hour diving around the habitat and exploring the lagoon we came back to the habitat just in time for the underwater pizza delivery experience which was a very special moment. Our pizza was delicious and filling and my wife loved her salad. After a night dive came movie-night complete with popcorn, candy and sodas. The habitat came very well-stocked. Our pet fish "Fred" stayed circling around the moon pool waiting for us to feed him. The next morning came way to soon, with one last lagoon dive and a re-emergence to the shore where we said goodbye to the aquatic world. I can't say enough about how special this place is and am very thankful for the group that maintains and runs it. It is a real national treasure.

I am a professional diver and this was one of the coolest things I have done. My dive computer was showing depth of 6.7 meters the whole night. It's really cool experience!! Bring warm clothes. It's very cold inside.

We found out about Jules lodge online. The concept of a lodge you scuba to enter is so unique, we knew we wanted to try it. Some people have made comments about rude personnel but I found she was more blunt than rude. She told me before I even booked that visibility could be a concern. We decided to book anyhow. Once we arrived she does like to make sure that all bases are covered. She’s not rude, she is thorough. And for that, all divers should be appreciative. The visibility wasn’t great but we still saw a school of parrot fish, a stone crab, and several other fishes. The real experience is knowing you are inside an underwater structure and being able to watch fish out the large windows. Riky was our dive master and was very personable. He helped us with our equipment and was an enjoyable person to visit with. He was calm and assured and made you feel comfortable. He told you exactly what to do and pointed out interesting sites. Anyone wanting a unique experience should definitely go. It’s a little pricey but you can’t do this anywhere else. Well worth the money!

Hello, Thank you for your review:) I like for anyone who is curious about our facility to know exactly what they will encounter diving in our lagoon or staying the night in our lodge. We are not inexpensive and we want you to get the best for your money. My Father is a Marine and I guess it just rubbed off on me:).

What a surreal way to spend a night! If you are the adventurous type, this is a must-do. We dove down into the lagoon with the use of hooka lines (we weren’t divers yet), swam under the lodge and swam up into the moon pool to enter. The beds and all the amenities were nice and adequate for our needs, but we actually spent most of our time in the kitchen area looking out at the fishes who were looking in at us as they swam by. Highly recommend this amazing place.

This place is amazing. I'm a stud3nt from the UK and I had Daniel as my instructor today. He is so patient and calming. I had a wonderful day today as he helped me through a slight anxiety which meant I was able to complete the dive today. The hotel is just incredible and so is the underwater garden, this will definately take your breath away, very much into the future. The aquatic life was eye mesmerizing as I've never seen aquatic life like this on the South coast, UK. There are 3 cannons, an anchor and lots of upside down jelly fish, very gentle species. Thank you Daniel x

I am shocked that anyone would give a negative review, we came here for the first time two years ago when the weather in key Largo was horrible and this was the only place to dive. People here were very friendly, great dry sense of humor, and very welcoming. So much so that we decided we had to come back one day to experience the undersea Lodge. That day is today! My daughter is now certified and to celebrate we booked a night in the lodge. The experience could not have been better. People are friendly, helpful, the pizza delivery ensured a warm and tasty pizza and meatball sub. And having the lagoon to ourselves for a night dive made for a fantastic experience, what a treat! Tremendous amounts of life multiple different crab species from quarter inch long to 6 inch crabs, tons of fish including grouper and many smaller fish, upside down jellies, tons of macroscopic life, tons of soft corals, fantastic artifacts on the bottom, just a fun great place to dive AND STAY. While this is probably the most expensive hotel I’ve ever stayed in, it is absolutely Worth every penny!

My wife and I are celebrating 11 years of marriage and decided to stay in the hotel while we were in the Keys. My wife was a little bit nervous as she is not a very experienced diver. I want to break this down so hopefully this helps others. The greatest parts for us had to be the pizza delivery. Our mission director was on Megyn Kelly's "strangest jobs" segment of the Today's Show. He was very knowledgeable and even came up to our window when he delivered the pizza. This was at our request. It definitely makes for better photos. The pizza is from a local pizzeria and was still hot when we got it. You also get a stocked fridge and lots of snacks. Another highlight was the log book. This is a fantastic idea and kills some time if you get bored. You will have a lot of time on your hands once you enter the hotel. Reading previous visitor comments made us realize how awesome this experience really is. The final highlight for me was the manatee. I realize Jules doesn't control wildlife but this was quite a treat, especially in July. I read other visitors talking about them but I thought they were pulling our legs. The bad. The cost is a little high but remember this is a bucket lister for divers. Another bad thing is the visibility. It is horrible. You have the opportunity to night dive but I would suggest you stay close to the hotel. You won't see much. By the night's end my wife was all smiles and really started to enjoy herself. She began to realize how unique this experience is. For me, it is definitely something to cross off the bucket list. I may have to add it back to the bucket list and do it all over again.
