I've been coming here for 12 years. I bring friends and family as well. This trip we were 17, next year it was going to be upwards of 24. But, now, we are looking elsewhere. OK, first, when we checked out LAST JULY we booked an ocean front room for last week (week of July 8). I confirmed in June, 2019 and all was good. We arrive and they say I'm in room 12?!?! I tell them i reserved an ocean front room a YEAR ago and was told a different management company handles those rooms and to call this number. They show me my paperwork and there it is, room 40 crossed out and 12 added. I ask why I was notified of the change, or of ANYTHING and all I got was shrugged shoulders and I'm sorry. I called the number and no ocean front rooms were open so, after a year of looking forward to the nicer room we get 12. Our friends had 8 in their party and when they arrived, the staff had lost the second room and told them they'd have to switch rooms every couple days to stay! We were there 7 days, never saw housekeeping. No sweeping, no towels...NOTHING. The grounds are not being taken care of like they used to be. Many places needed painting terribly and there was something sticky on the steps for days...sticky to the point of if you stepped in it...it would take your flip flop off! They apparently don't pay the guy with the quad to pull all the seaweed to the edges anymore so, one has to wade through 20 feet of it to use the ocean. Then there's the pool and the groundskeeper. The pool rules say SUNRISE to SUNSET. At 7:42 he come by while all our kids are enjoying themselves and say the pool is closing! When we question it saying sunset isn't until 8:17 he replies, "It's close enough" Seriously???? What kind of attitude is that?!? I have so enjoyed staying there over the years, my friends and family have and ALL come back. Sadly, This was most likely our last time. You had a real treasure there Continental Inn. I'm not sure who is responsible for how it's run now...but they have ruined it!

Love this place - back for our 3rd time. We love the property. The beach is so close and we discovered another place to go out - Havana Joes! And the new Sparky's was great (still missed the old one, though!). Easy access to Key West - we did a great day trip there. #27 - LOVE it!

This was our 3rd time staying at the Continental Inn and it never disappoints! We’ve stayed in Units 9 and 27 which are steps from spectacular views! Treat yourself to classic Keys experience staying here! Bonus was meeting some really nice people and snapping sunset pics just 1 min walk to park next door!

Terrible experience here. For starters no music is allowed on the beach!! They want guests to wear head phones on the beach. This is ridiculous for the amount of money we are paying to stay here. No music was allowed on this property and their loooong list of rules was never stated during booking. Will NEVER return.

We chose one of the limited 2 bedroom units, which was comfortable and quite roomy. Not sure if there's a way to add a 2nd bathroom, which would have been very useful. Each bedroom had a balcony, nice for an early cup of coffee with the sunrise. Great to use the BBQ on the beach but a wash up area would be useful. The man-made part of the beach is very clean and plenty of chairs/loungers. The natural beach suffers badly with sea grass, which apparently is seasonal and dealt with by a local contractor. The pool was nice for a cool-off. We like to try different places when we visit The Keys, this one has been on my to-do list for a while, but probably wouldn't return.
