We’ve stayed at this hotel 3 times and loved it every time! It’s a great location, the pool is usually warm, the staff is extremely pleasant, rooms are clean, and it’s right on the beach! I would highly recommend this hotel.
The location is nice, and from the moment you walk in you can tell and smell that they are following protocol. The room was so clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. There is restaurant on the property and the food was amazing. We didn't get a chance to enjoy much we had to leave for a family emergency. Breakfast is HOT!
We stayed here for 5 nights from April 3-8th and our stay was anything but positive. I will address all issues chronologically. We checked in at 7:30 pm after a long drive from Charlotte by Bleu and she didn’t let us know any details timings or location of the facilities and pool although it was our first visit here. The other thing I noticed that Laura the other front desk person never wore her mask over her mouth snd nose as per the CDC guidelines but her mask was hanging on her neck. Also the afternoon shift were not enforcing mask requirements to guests coming in, and only Steve on the morning shift was enforcing the mask requirements. So it was disappointing first impression. The room which was oceanfront with balcony had a nice view but as I have shown from these pictures is in urgent need of refurbishment rusty lamp shades, door paint chipped off, towel hook in the bathroom got loose from the wall when we Kept the towel on it and there were stains all over the Capet. Breakfast was another major issue for us as there were two stations one for hot options Which only had meat and egg options - Sausage, scrambled eggs, etc but no waffles, pancakes or steel cut oatmeal. I understand the menu is limited but how can you not have basic breakfast items like sliced bread or bagels ? So we could only take Potatoes from the hot option which had too much salt every time we had it. Also the arrangement did not make sense as the Coffee and Condiments are in the hot breakfast station managed by a server which had a long line so if you need a coffee refill or forgot a condiment you again have to stand in line. This is not how the arrangement was in other Hampton Inn we stayed in 2020 after the pandemic. Why the coffee was not kept outside as a self serve station along with all the condiments ?? Overall we were never greeted by anyone except Steve by the front desk staff so nobody was friendly or at least appear to give that impression. So not at all impressed by the worn out room, not so good Healthy Breakfast options and overall lack of mask mandate enforcement especially by the 2nd shift front desk. Also we do not recommend Jax Beach or the city to anyone looking for upscale retreat. It doesn’t give you safe vibes as you walk around the hotel. We visited Naples, FL, Hilton Head Island and Jekyll island and all of those places are much nicer than Jacksonville which has a very worn out appearance to the streets near the beach, no nice boardwalk or landscaping and also the kind of people who walk around as a family we did not feel safe. Will not return and absolutely do not recommend this city or hotel to anyone who is looking for an upscale quality place to relax. If a family is on a budget and want to enjoy the crowded pool and ocean than this is your go to place.…
Staff friendly and accommodating. Steve in the front especially, made you feel welcome . Would definitely stay there again. Need to get that ice maker fixed on the 3rd floor but otherwise pretty easy to access amenities. Rooms not super fancy but nice ... the view.... phenomenal! 👍
The hotel management has absolutely gone above and beyond to make us feel save and protected from COVID-19. The rooms feel clean and sanitized. Everyone is asked to respectful of others by masking up and the breakfast service gets 5 stars! The staff serve and are most kind! You keep this up we’ll always be coming here.
