Detailed Reviews
My husband and I and our 2 dogs stayed in a cabin for 2 nights. The cabins are very clean and cozy and have everything you need for vacation pots, pans, dishes, silverware,ect... We have stayed in many cabins in campgrounds and this is definitely one of the cleanest. The owners are very hospitable and friendly. They told us we could take out a kayak or canoe if we wanted to .This place is also 15 -20 minutes away from stores and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was our very first trip with our Class C RV. I think that most new folks are nervous and thinking of a million different things that they should be doing. That said, when we called Riverside, one of the owners helped us pick the best spot for our RV. He made sure that we had the most beautiful spot facing the river. As we checked in, the other owner and their son met us at the check in desk. They were super friendly and helpful. The son pointed out some areas to look out for as we pulled our rig in which we appreciated. We backed in and hooked up with no problems. Our view was beautiful. Overall, the campsite was quiet. Our neighbors were nice and the owner came by with her golf cart on Day 2 and sat and talked with us. We were in a spot that was the furthest from the office; yet we had good Wi-Fi...mainly we use it for streaming music. The only heads up I would give and it is not anything that the owners can really mitigate is the airboats on the river. They were few and far between, but they were loud when they did come through. Only a few came by at night, and honestly we run a white noise machine when we sleep at night and could barely hear them and they were right outside the door. Overall, it was a wonderful first trip, the owners were super friendly, and we will definitely be going back for a longer period. They have cabins and primitive camping as well and their grounds and cabins were well maintained. For us, we are not looking for huge resorts, but for beautiful nature, peace, and for friendly experiences, and they hit all of these. I would highly recommend them. Cheers!

This place was terrific. Tent camping on a Friday and Saturday with my 21 year old daughter to bike the Withlacoochee State Trail, which is about 10 minutes west by car. The owner offered us a choice of two tent sites and we picked the one nearby the RVs right on the river. It is also right next to the fire pit and the fish cleaning station but neither were a problem. Beautiful view, brand new picnic tables, a pair of bathrooms virtually to ourselves. We typically stay at state parks but they were closed for camping so this was our first private campground. A little more expensive but good value.

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin and it was very nice. The girl at the office at check in saw very nice (the owner not so much) The grounds were not very well maintained.
The main road was full of pot holes and needed repaved. the walk path needs more stone it was all mud. The fire pit area looked like a dump for old construction junk.
Our first night there the septic system backed up. The note we got on our door to use very little water and NOT flush the toilet unless needed., use paper plates and plastic ware was not what I paid $130.00 per night for.
WE LILL NOT RETURN!!!

I rented a cabin with an enclosed screen porch for the small dog we brought plus for sitting on porch at night to keep bugs away. We showed up and they changed our cabin to a shared cabin with an open air porch. We were eaten by bugs and we really couldn't let dog out much. They never told us they were changing our cabin and when I asked the answer was that someone that is staying longer they gave it to because a long term rental is more important than our short term rental even though I placed the deposit on a specific cabin. Who does that? Very poor management I must say. If they kept our cabin as rented without changing it we would have enjoyed it more.

Response from Heinz van Niersen, Owner at Riverside Lodge Resort

we are sorry that we were unable to give you a certain cabin number, since only have 22 cabins we can not guarantee a certain lot or cabin number as we state on our website and in the confirmation email. sometimes a guest has to stay another month while maybe waiting for a closing on a house or other reasons, which can not be planned in advance, that's why we have this policy in place.

Absolutely beautiful and very relaxing! The cabin was perfect and the you can tell that maintenance works very hard to keep everything in order. We loved the unlimited access to kayak/canoes with the cabin rental. We will definitely be back again.

My wife and I spent four weeks in a camper at this “resort.” A smallish campground—a few sites with a nice view of the Withlacoochee River. We had one of these water-view sites and loved where we were. All sites were quite tight, and the ones without water view would not attract me. The loop road near the water was a bit rough and hard to navigate. I thought the monthly fee was very fair. One thing I had not experienced while camping was having to pay extra to use the bathroom/shower. The charge was $100 and I was willing to pay that for a month so I didn’t have to shower in my camper. We received a key to gain access to the shower/bathroom, so I assumed the facility would be clean and equipped, but that was rarely the case. More than one occasion found the toilet paper empty, as well as the paper towel dispenser. It also appeared that several days might go by before general cleaning of the floor, etc. Positives: the clubhouse was very nice and the group of fellow campers was very friendly. Several gatherings/potlucks were organized by a number of campers who enjoyed overseeing such events. A nice seafood restaurant was a five-minute walk from the campground, so we took advantage of that. I would consider staying here again if I could get a water-view site, so I’d say the negatives did not outweigh the positives.

Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay there. The clubhouse was a outdated, but the cabins were comfortable and well equipped. Unfortunately the location of the campsite is too close to the main road and you can hear trucks and cars drive by. We enjoyed canoeing, riding the boat and driving around in the golf cart.

We had a great time! The office manager, Angel, was so sweet, attentive and a real people person. Very genuine. We rented an RV spot while 2 other friends rented a cabin. The cabin was super clean and had everything you need for your stay. The RV spot was perfect. The shower were very clean with hot water, soap and toilet paper. It wasn’t super expensive and well worth it. We rented the canoes. The river is right there so you launch the canoe and find yourself on a 2 mile trip which was beautiful and peaceful. There are air boat rentals and a lot of things to do near by. Come visit this spot. It’s great!

We had stayed for the first time in October 2019 and it was great, so when we needed to stay a week later in April of 2020 we made our reservations and looked forward to our visit. Unfortunately the Covid-19 virus took hold across the nation and we had to cancel our reservation. Once things get back to normal we will be reserving our favorite cabin and enjoying the area once again!

It's a very small property, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
No, just a week over spring break. For the week, I think it was around $800 for the week.
