Families & pets are always welcome! We want you to relax and enjoy your stay with us. Weddings, renewal of vows and memorials on our beach are welcome. We have had more than one happy event here and, in fact, the owners renewed their vows after over 30 years of marriage. Sun Burst Inn is located in Indian Shores, Florida directly on the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Our hotel is within easy reach of shops, restaurants and all you need for a wonderful vacation experience with a regular bus service at your door step if you need it. Our inn has eleven units, all with either kitchenettes or full kitchens, so it's your choice depending on what you feel you need. All units in our two story beachfront facility are either directly facing the world famous Gulf beaches, or a few steps from the beach. Enjoy Florida at its best the way it used to be: quaint hotels, friendly owners AND with all the modern conveniences. That's what you'll get when you visit The Sun Burst Inn. Pristine white beaches, splashing Gulf waters, and spectacular sunsets. All just steps out your room. Visit us soon and find out what the "real" and "friendly" Florida is all about! Lounge chairs, beach umbrellas, coolers, beach towels & beach toys all supplied with NO RESORT FEE. The Gulf Beach area provides many fun things to do because we are within easy driving range of attractions like Busch Gardens, Clearwater Aquarium (Home of Winter the Dolphin), The Salvador Dali Museum, Lowry Park Zoo and for shopping there's John's Pass Village and the Ellenton Outlet Center.

Beach front rooms just steps away from your own slice of sand that is reserved for those that are staying at the inn, complete with natural gas fire pit, gas grill, and large deck patios with plenty of seating to enjoy the sunsets without a care, away from all that hustle and bustle! The staff are friendly! The site is a cozy beach shack feel and has a little more “do it yourself” flavor which we actually enjoyed and also seems to help keep the costs of this cozy inn a lot lower than the average stay at another beach hotel on this mostly secluded strip. It was no problem to exchange bath towels and just bring a few cleaning basics, extra paper towels/napkins! Absolutely loved being left alone to explore and keep the place tidy ourselves over our 4 day stay with family. Complimentary WiFi worked great and many meals prepared In Kitchen with dining out on the patio areas under the umbrellas 🌅 Highly recommend if looking for a beach get away from busy Tampa Bay Area

We just arrived and we are totally in love!! Room #20 is upstairs and oh my goodness so worth it! The view is spectacular and the beach is just down the stairs from a wonderful deck! The room is cozy and absolutely 5-0 clean!! We just kept looking at each other and grinning! There is a full size refrigerator, stove and loaded with utensils, pots, pans and did I say clean??!! I check every hotel shower with scrutiny and this shower is spotless!! I can’t say enough about the attention to detail with this unit! An open closet space perfect for storing suitcases and cubbies for other items! We want to cancel the next leg of our journey to Key West and stay here!! Applause, applause SunBurst Inn!!!

The property is okay, which we knew this going into our stay. We knew there were not a lot of amenities. We were okay with the property, however I would make a few suggestions. There needs to be a bath mat/towel for getting out of the shower. There needs to be a mirror outside of the bathroom for additional guest to use when the bathroom is in use. The locks need to be more secure. You can open the locks with a screwdriver/credit card which does not leave the guest feeling secure when not in the room. What IS an issue is the owner. She has a BAD attitude. When we asked about locking our room more securely, she was quite rude in announcing that she was not giving us a master key. (We didn’t ask for one). She did say they have new locks waiting in the back to be put in. Well they have been closed fo 2 months due to COVID, why couldn’t they be installed then? All rooms are nonsmoking. We came in to a room full of smoke and marijuana one night. When I asked the owner if she could ask the guests not to smoke marijuana in the room she shrugged her shoulders, rolled her eyes and said if they have a medical card, there was nothing she could do. She could have asked them not to smoke in the room. She did nothing about it. She needs to learn how to please her guests when talking to them. She could have easily said that she would look into it instead of giving an attitude to begin with. The place is older, we get that, but the staff was absolutely rude.

Response from sunburstinnflorida, General Manager at Sun Burst Inn
Responded Jun 12, 2020
lets start with I am not the owner , I am the manager of the hotel. Now lets also start with how rude you were with your information for holding your reservation. When we asked you for your information you told us you will not give it to us over the phone or by Email. You told us we can wait and you will give it to us when you check in . 2 i did go to the girls that were smoking POT in the room next to you and asked them to stop so dont accuse me of not doing that. Yes are hotel is going through up dates LOCKS ect. We have never had a problem with anyone breaking in to a room. I know how to please my guest that is one of the reasons we get return guest and new guest . If you were that unhappy you should of asked for a refund i would have haply given you one . Have a great day Elise Gates GM

I have Traveled and stayed at a few places a long the coast , not the same ! I can tell you honestly that there’s something magical about staying at sun burst inn and when it’s time for sunset ,wow , what a show , provided by nature ! , there’s Laura and E , and eager to make your stay as enjoyable as one can have , if you didn’t have a pleasant experience staying here then it’s your fault for not asking , cause you can’t get better service or a good nights stay anywhere else . I really hope you try this gem of a place , the beach is Literally out your front door, there’s never a bad day at the beach . Sincerely , Stormie Boyer
