Pros:
The staff were pleasant and generally efficient. Despite the property being older, there is no musty smell and the furnishings were nice. The bed was comfortable. The covered parking lot was a plus, and the view is spectacular.
Cons:
Roaches! My husband and I stay in time shares 2x a year, and this is the first time we have ever seen roaches in any of the other properties. We washed all dishes and utensils before use, and stored them in the refrigerator to prevent contamination from the roaches. The check in was slow. We were able to check in early (do the paperwork only), but weren't able to actually have the room until about 4:30 (check-in time is 4:00). The lobby was clogged with people waiting for their room. The only ceiling fan is in the living room, we brought a fan with us for the bedroom and the patio.

Thank you for the kind words about our employees we strive for five. Glad you got a good night’s rest on the bed and took advantage of the few covered parking spots available. We apologize for the slow check-in process you experienced and the unfortunate situation with the roaches. The pest control company has been notified to address the unwelcome guest. The resort is unable to provide early check-ins sharing one elevator with guest and employees. Due to additional safety measures check-in begins approximately after 4 pm sorry for the wait in the lobby.

Great ocean views and spacious room. Everyone at the resort was very friendly. We did not see roaches, as mentioned in a previous review. There were a few cons worth mentioning. The hot water heater in the unit was not adequate for the 5 adults we had in our party. Also, there was only one washer and dryer per floor with 10 rooms per floor. It cost $3 per load. There is a very clean laundromat 2 miles away across the Causeway bridge that may save you time. Another concern I had is there is nobody at the front desk in evenings or at night. The lone elevator is in the lobby and there is not a lot of foot traffic. It sorta felt creepy.
Food Recommendations:We have stayed in the area numerous times. If you are looking for unique hot dog options, Fredgie's is a must! Benny's had excellent pizza and stromboli's at a decent price. If breakfast is more your thing, be sure to visit Aunt D's diner.
If anyone wants to book a fishing trip, I would highly recommend Kovach Fishing Charters. The captain and First Mate have a true passion for fishing and kept us on the fish all day.

Hello grizzeldamay, Thank you for the five out of five ranking during your recent stay. We apologize if you felt creepy here over the evening hours. The timeshare resort is not a 24 hour property, however there is an after hour service for resort emergencies. There are several great dining spots, and hopefully we welcome you again to try more local restaurants and attractions.

The views are breathtaking The unit was spacious and the staff was helpful, The units are showing their age, Grout in bathrooms needs to be cleaned and redone, Railings going downstairs need repainting. The beds were comfortable Views were breathtaking Bath towels need to be upgraded as they are small and thin. Beach towels were fine Kitchen had everything we needed We needed a larger skillet and it was providedwithin five minutes Staff and maintenance was extremely responsive We had a switch break in the bathroom and they were there within five minutes Hairdryer was missing in one bathroom and that was quickly replaced . The staff goes above and beyond If some money were spent on painting the pool deck, railings, and bathrooms were upgraded with better towels this would be a four star re sort The staff deserves six stars. The resort is a 3 and a half right now I w would come again just for the location, views, staff responsiveness and well equipped kitchen which included a slow cooker Pool was kept immaculate!

I've been vacationing at The Turtle Reef club for some 50 odd years now, so they must be doing something right! The staff are always friendly, readily available and accommodating. The unit is always clean and well furnished, and recently all the appliances in the kitchen have been replaced with more modern units. No complaints here! The view from the screened in porch of the beach and the waves is wonderful and beach access is quick and easy. Parking is readily available, and if you're quick enough, you may be able to park under cover! As always, the pool area is well furnished, clean and just a great place to hang out. Thanks again to everyone running "the Reef"!

I never write reviews, nor do I ever complain about anything. Like I said, overall it was nice. Views are gorgeous. Our condo floors were filthy, almost like they had not been mopped in months. I should have complained, but by the time we noticed our feet were black we had everything unpacked and were relaxing. The towel situation is also a bit mind boggling. Maybe we are supposed to bring our own bath towels, but to only change out towels every 3-4 days is pretty gross. I finally went to the front desk and ask for some fresh towels, and the person I spoke to was clearly unhappy I asked. I ended up washing them on my own dime. We still had a nice week, but I was pretty disappointed because I had read great reviews prior to booking.

I booked a stay at this location while I was down in FL on business. I thought it would be a nice getaway from the work week. When I checked in, I immediately noticed that the room was outdated and the furniture was very worn. In fact, I never used any of the living room because I wasnt sure that it had been cleaned. The bedroom sheets were definitely not cleaned or changed between customers as I found big nasty stains on them. When I called to get new bedding, it took two calls and two personal trips to the front desk to finally get what I needed, the new bedding was still damp from laundry, so I dried it in the room. Total time to fix this problem was just under 3 hours of time ill never get back. After cooking I started the dishwasher and little bugs running out from the big space in the wall where the cabinet had separated. I have video of this. I advised the desk of the bugs and his response was, "anything else". oh well...

Never going back..

Dear Greg, Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention to address. We have spoken to housekeeping for the cleanliness issues and have called outside vendor to come in and clean the furniture. We have contacted our pest control company to come out and treat the unit. We have also had a meeting to address the time frame that it took take care of the issues, that you presented to the front desk staff. We have changed the way we report information to other departments and now follow up to make sure they are resolved in a timely manner. We apologize for the inconveniences you faced during your getaway, we hope you will give us another try.

After being cooped up for two months, I was fully prepared to "social distance" myself somewhere with waves and glorious sunrises. Add two friends, and we were off to spend a week at Turtle Reef Club.

What a pleasant stay! The unit was dated, which I expected from the price (and as such can't complain since I couldn't care less about luxury), but had everything we needed. The full kitchen was excellent for cooking, the pool was clean, loved the screened-in patio, the beach wasn't crowded, and every morning there were several fresh sea turtle tracks and nests within a half-mile stretch in either direction.

If you just want to get away, cook a little and enjoy a slow pace, this is the place. If you want luxury or super modern glam, you may be unimpressed. For my needs, this was the quintessential recharge.

We love the sound of the ocean from our deck. With the bedroom slider open, we even hear the waves while we lie in bed. The unit is roomy and well equipped. The kitchen is very functional, as we were able to prepare Christmas dinner for 9 people.

We learned of this vacation spot through RCI and when we read the stellar reviews, thought "hmm, that sounds like a great place?" I am not sure which units "those" other reviewers stayed in but the unit we stayed in more than worn out. The floors were so dirty it was as though they had not been cleaned for more than a long time. We didn't want to go barefoot inside. It was in real need of updating. It had a smell I cannot identify as well as musty, The bed was comfortable and the views were great. The staff was polite except when it was checkout day. Checkout was posted at 10 AM but even before 9 AM housekeeping started knocking on the door asking us when we were leaving. We were already packed and beginning to take our stuff to the car but there were not luggage carts available, only very old shopping carts that we had to maneuver around the housekeeping carts (housekeeper would not move the cart so I could get through). They approached us 3 more times before we were finally out. When I asked the receptionist she repeated what the housekeeper had said "Well, no one is checking out and we need to clean the rooms for our incoming guests?" We did get clean towels when we asked.

I would consider staying here again. I just don’t agree with having to clean the unit before I leave. I usually leave a hotel “clean” I put trash near the trash can and dirty towels in a specific area. But I don’t feel that sweeping the floors and running dish washer and taking the trash out should be my responsibility after I’ve paid rent and was on vacation.
