The wife and I spent a pleasant six days in February 2019. This after a having enjoyed a stay here for several days a couple years past. We had happened then upon the rather out of the way Inn serendipitously. We had thought of it as a visit to a place out of the gracious past, but still well maintained. We enjoyed our visit this time again. Enough has been said of the beautiful grounds. The architecture and layout, while not huge, was quite beautiful. The accounts of the two golf courses is generally quite positive, as evident in other reviews. So we have some very good things about the Inn. Then there are aspects that have garnered mixed reviews that are a bit confusing, but perhaps come down to expectations or perspective. For example, the pool and…
This was our first stay at this resort and first impressions count. We made our reservation in June of 2018 to attend a wedding. While check in time was 4PM our room was not ready. The wedding was at 5PM and we had to change so the hotel upgraded us at no cost. Still, we find it difficult to comprehend that the hotel does not have enough staff to get all the rooms serviced in 4 hours (check out time is noon) when they know well in advance that they will be completely full and that there are multiple weddiings on site that day. However, the incident that concerned us most occurred the morning we checked out. We went to breakfast at the restaurant and were out of our room for about 1.5 hours. When we returned, we were finishing up our packing and it became clearly evident…
Spacious room with beautiful view of golf course.excellent food and very accommodating staff. A little bit out of the way, but worth the peace and quiet Two very challenging golf courses well worth playing.
Recently visited for a two night golf package. Both golf courses are nicely laid out with tight fairways. The courses are maintained to a standard of a better groomed public facility. El Campeon is a fun experience with wonderful elevation changes. The hotel itself is old but still presents well. Food and service were excellent. For side excursions the grounds are close to Mt. Dora and Winter Garden as well as the Lake Ridge Winery. This is a great getaway and a good value.
This was my third time staying at this resort. The accommodations in some rooms have been better than others. This time was the worst. Being in FL mold is a constant problem and it was evident in the mustiness of the bathroom and bedding. However, the room was clean/tidy for the most part. The staff I encountered seemed to be OK and were hospitable. The location and grounds make up for the down sides of the last stay. It's a great place to walk and appreciate the local fauna... Beautiful landscaping.
I have stayed at this resort multiple times... for weddings, fundraisers and just for a weekend getaway. When I was looking for a place to host a small business conference, Mission Inn was my first thought. The resort is truly "old Florida" with a fresh face. But that is why I LOVE it here. It's quiet and quaint. Unique architecture and amazing photospots. Be sure to check out the waterfall. The hotel rooms have recently had a makeover and WOW, what an upgrade. It's a great place for golf and my massage was amazing! If you're looking for "modern design", this isn't the place. But the vistas are stunning, the hotel rooms are clean and the experience is relaxing.
Beautiful stay though short but will definitely go backk for a longer stay . Hospitality and professional ways of all staff . Very clean . Front Desk , Connie very professional and helpful time of check in . Recommended by a family memenber . Beautiful place to get away from the business . Five Star indeed
This place needs to be gutted completely. Its quite obvious that the owner has zero desire to put any money in to this place. Shockingly enough though it is jam packed with private events - I just cannot fathom why unless it is so cheap or because it is in the middle of nowhere and has no local competition. What I found most disturbing during our stay for a wedding was that the staff was miserable - from the pro shop (you had to pay for tees lol, and they looked shocked when you asked for a towel or help with your clubs!) to the grounds crew on my morning run (very angry, no smile or hello), to the front desk stay early evening when asked about our wedding's schedule of events. The rooms are horribly outdated, shower head barely supplied a spray (def installed in 1980) and…
My wife and I stayed here again to play a round of golf the following day. All of the staff is very friendly, helpful and polite. We really enjoy staying here. The beds, pillows and comforters are like some sort of five star hotel - really a great place to overnight. The golf at El Campeon is amazing as usual.
I visited the Mission Inn with a large group for a wedding. The rooms were very clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The resort itself is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any requests. The morning buffet was good - great waitstaff although the buffet itself was limited. The only complaints I had were that my room didn’t have a fridge (although some of my friends did), the elevators are quite slow, and the resort could use an upgrade (which I think is fair due to the fact that you actually pay fees to stay at the resort). Overall it was a very nice hotel to stay at.
