The room was large enough and had a balcony with a view of the golf course. Very pleasant to sip morning coffee there. The breakfast buffet at the La Hacienda was terrific. A great variety of fresh fruit and waffle and omelet station. Service was impeccable. We were even offered coffee or juice to go upon leaving. The attention to the little details was really appreciated. The spa was also a great place for a facial. Was offered a mimosa upon arriving. Very nice touch.
We were going to a party nearby and decided at the last minute to get a room. Beautiful resort with golf course, tennis courts, spa, bikes, pool and several restaurants. Our room overlooked the pool and golf course with a screened balcony to enjoy the view. It is off season so we nearly had the place to ourselves. The room was nicely appointed with a comfortable king bed and elegant bathroom with nice toiletries and 6 sets of towels. Breakfast was a la carte or a tasty buffet with made to order omelette. Other restaurants we have enjoyed on previous visits. Staff was friendly. Totally perfect mini vacation. Hidden treasure not to be missed.
I drove up there to officiate a wedding. Brought my triplets with me. It was very different from the normal Marriot or Hyatt hotels. Beautiful surroundings. Room was great. Nice touches. A big storm rolled in so we ate at the on site restaurant. The desserts were to die for. Great wedding location. Loved it.
Lynn and I and ten of our friends attended a retirement party for one of our friends at the elegant Mission Inn. It was a Sunday Brunch. More items than I could ever mention were served on several tables. There was an omelet station, a desert bar, Carved Roast Beef and Turkey, shrimp, oysters and many other seafood and chicken dishes. This all came with endless champagne and mimosas. No one goes home hungry from this brunch. There is something for everyone there. Service was outstanding. I loaded up on shrimp, roast beef, turkey and oysters Rockefeller. For desert I had the apple crumb cake with ice cream. It was truly a gastronomic experience.
Mission Inn just north of Orlando, the setting is rolling hills ( not really hills, landscape) and Spanish moss laden trees. The Mission has 176 comfortable rooms, nearby is shopping, dining, and a winery. The resort has golf, tennis, trap/skeet, bicycling, fishing, a marina, four restaurants.
If you are in the are, somewhere near to Lake Harris, and it is Sunday you need to book in for Sunday brunch at the Mission Inn. It is superb. From friut, breakfast food, eggs benedict, omelettes, through fresh poached Salmon, Smoked Salmon, Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, more veg and salad etc than you can count and all absolutely gorgeous, to excellent sweets, including Bananas Foster anf home made vanilla ice cream. And you can go back for more as often as you like. AND to wash it all down, Champgne, Mimosa, Orange Juice, Coffee - again, your glass keeps getting refilled. Do not miss it.
This is a beautiful resort in Howey-in-the-Hills that more people should know about. Beautiful setting, wonderful staff, and great ameneties. Stayed there for Leesburg Bikefest, but the place is so beautiful, and the golf courses look so awesome that I have to go back for a golf weekend.
This review is only about the golf. In no way is this resort quality golf compared to other resorts in the Orlando area. Little grass on the fairways and many bare areas. No towels in the cart, bad on course marking, no food at the turn, no cart boys. Takes 15 min to get a hotdog to-go in the restaurant. Not a bad layout and greens are ok, but not what any of our 24 person group would call a quality golf experience.
Our second stay at The Mission Inn and although again only a one night stay we felt welcome and comfortable .The reception staff were professional , cheerful and accommodating - thank you Rebecca Dinner at La Margarita Restaurant did not disappoint , the food quality was excellent . Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable however the bathroom was somewhat dated and could do with a bit of a makeover i.e. replacing the low toilets with comfort height styles . The only disappointment is that we wish we could stay for longer and take advantage of the services offered . We plan to keep returning and will continue to highly recommend The Mission Inn Resort and Club .
Stayed recently at the mission inn resort and had an absolutely wonderful time. I felt initially it was in the middle of no where but in reality had a great time in the area. Must visit the local vineyard, a local distillery, and the nature preserve. The resort has 2 golf courses which were great and we equally enjoyed the restaurants on site. Their breakfast buffet is superb. They have bikes you can ride at no cost, but best of all, are the people who work there. Everyone from the front desk, the cleaning staff the grounds people and restaurant personnel were extremely friendly. They seemed to enjoy their jobs and being part of a family at the resort. Highly recommend!
