Like nothing experienced on Anna Maria Island before. Luxury and location meet head on to achieve the premier motel experience on the island. The Anna Maria Beach Resort is the product of a full renovation and complete transformation of the old Blue Water Beach Resort located at 6306 Gulf Dr. in Holmes Beach. Consisting of a combination of 31 suites, deluxe and standard rooms, the motel retains the same previous floor plan and footprint as before but with many significant upgrades. This elegant California Coastal design has a slightly modern, sleek and classy design with clean lines and cozy colors. Anna Maria Beach Resort offers several different types of rooms to our guests. All upper-level rooms have private balconies with sweeping views of the fantastic blue Gulf waters. Some of the ground level rooms also have Gulf views, with the others having Resort pool views. All have private balconies or patios and many rooms have connecting doors.

Love the room &the view. Hated waiting until 4pm or later for maid service. Hated the smokers around the pool and on the balconies. Didn't get bath towels one day, took over an hour for housekeeping to deliver when we asked for the towels. Can't recommend based on price and service

We have been coming to AMI for 20+ years multiple times a year. and we mostly try different locations. Room was nicely updated but clearly an older hotel with nicer tile and furniture. Amenities were nice too. However, the amount we paid it simply wasn't worth it. I appreciate them fixing up the old hotel and I understand supply and demand. I guess they will make some money but in the end the prices are coming down and we will remember those who try to over charge. There are way too many better options for this kind of rate.

We've stayed here on multiple occasions. Very disappointed this time. You can no longer choose your room so you don't know if you have ocean view or not till after you get there. Spoke with several people prior to arriving and got the run around about the travel insurance and our room. When we arrived, we weren't given the room we were told we had and the staff was not very friendly or seem to care if we were upset. This wouldn't maybe be such an issues but My husband has health issues so it's nice to be able to choose a room that he doesn't have to walk far and we love to be able to sit out and watch the ocean because it's hard for him to walk in the sand. They didn't care. We had to pay more to upgrade so we weren't clear around the back of the building and still had to take the chance because they wouldn't let us know what was available till after we paid. They advertise as ocean view room but if your on the ground level you can not sit out and see the ocean and that's the one thing we enjoy most about our vacation. This is a nice resort but new ownership has changed it and not for the good.

This place doesn't look like much from the front. But don't be deceived by appearances. Inside, the rooms are amazing. They are large, airy, light and very beachy-pretty. Bathroom was large, with a nice big tiled shower, counter space for stuff, and hooks for wet towels (I'm always shocked by beach places that have no hooks for towels, swimsuits, etc.) It has a VERY tiny little kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, actual real freezer, and it had plates, silverware, bowls, etc. You couldn't cook anything there but you could re-heat stuff. There was a grill outside, and picnic tables. The pool was amazing. Big, zero entry, wonderful landscaping, they had floats and tubes, warm, hot tub in the pool area, nice cabanas (you have to rent those) but ample seating for those who don't want to rent. There was also a firepit, pingpong table, cornhole game, and more. Gated entry to the resort from the beach, chaises on the beach with umbrellas reserved for hotel guests (those were free) and some kid games. The ONLY thing that I'd change would be the sign saying no beverages in pool or on pool deck. I mean, there's no alcohol allowed on Anna Maria's beaches. Now I can't even drink a beer at the pool? In fairness, everyone was disobeying this rule flagrantly and no one ever got busted so fine, but the rule seemed a little mean. Frankly I think they should have a little pool restaurant there that SELLS alcohol. But that's just me. All the rooms open onto the pool in the back, either directly onto the sidewalk, or onto a balcony. I think first floor is preferable since you then don't have to walk motel-style around and down, but maybe some people would rather be up higher to have more of a view. Either were nice and all rooms had sliding glass double doors facing the water with chairs and a table outside. We found the staff friendly, our room was cleaned every day with no problem, parking was ample, and we had no problems of any kind. Is this place expensive? Yes. Yes it is. I thought it was very nice indeed, but $400/night is a lot. Hard to say whether I thought that was good value, there are places that are cheaper, but are less nice. Certainly if you were staying for a week, you'd be better off renting. But for a day or two or three, it would be hard to beat this place for beauty, peace, and convenience. I like the location too, further north on the island the beaches are better and there's less traffic. There's a lot of choices on the island and next time I MAY try something else (I've been to AMI 8 or 10 times, but usually rent a whole house so this is my first time in a hotel) but I would also happily return here as well. I give it my enthusiastic endorsement.

Wife trawls t'internet for deals. We got a great one for a three night weekend at this resort. Judging what the prices are now, t'was deal of the century! The room was in great shape, luxurious bed, well appointed living area, huge bathroom, kitchen and dining more than adequate. The double balcony looking out across the pool to the gulf was absolutely perfect for coffee in the AM and cocktails in the PM (see pic). We'll go back but will wait for a window when the price is right. It's crazy what rooms on Anna Maria Island can go for right now but good luck to them if they can get it. Red Tide and Covid hurt a lot of folks.

We returned to our hotel room yesterday to find the AC man cleaning the AC lines above on of the beds. He said be sure they change your sheets. The housekeeper came after that and cleaned part of the room, leaving the bed unmade and pillows all over room, towels all over the other bed. The desk clerk came (housekeeping had went home) and gave us clean sheets to change the bed. You pay almost $500 a night and we change the sheets and put towels away??? I don't think so! The manager was called and we met with her the next morning. She stated the problem was addressed and that we put a DND sign on the door (we never used the DND - we get up early and are usually outside). The management dealt very poorly with us and our problem. No notice of AC person entering our room that day. We were soaking wet from horseback riding and the beach and had to wait outside. The place was fairly clean but had a small amount of mold in the shower area. Horrible customer service!

My wife and I travelled to Anna Maria Beach Resort with a group of friends 2 years in a row. The property is great and under normal circumstances would book for next year. Friendly staff, modern rooms, nice pool and right on the beach is a recipe for repeat trip. No gripes with anything about the property, but pricing is totally out of line. Way too easy to find better value elsewhere.

My wife and I visited Anna Maria Island for the first time and felt we picked a gem of a resort for the week. We loved our second floor gulf view king room and the water/beach views amazing. Kitchenette was small but functional. Full size fridge was certainly a plus. We had no problems with housekeeping, we always returned to a clean room and sheets were changed mid week. Although the day pass/ cabana rentals were hardly used during our stay we could see where it could pose a problem with pool and hot tub takeover if the right crowd swarmed in. We thought the concept was cheesy. As you've read the resort is right on the beach. There were ample pool and beach loungers with umbrellas. The grounds were kept clean with nice accent gardening. There was never a problem finding a golf cart charging station in the corner of the parking lot facing Gulf Drive. Since we enjoyed the resort and location so much we looked into returning in 2023. Shockingly we discovered the same week and throughout the winter the price increased over three fold. We paid around $550/night this time and next year $1,733 for the same room?? The rumor around the pool was that there is a new owner and they're trying to see how much more they can get per night. If true, it's a very poor business strategy. For comparison, we're going on a 10 night Panama Canal cruise in the deluxe owners suite with a butler, meals and open bar and it's much less than a 7 night stay in March at AMBR.

PROS On site parking Beautiful room Amazing pool Perfect Beach with chairs and umbrellas Friendly staff CONS Rental to NON guests for pool cabanas and amenities. (During our particular weeks there was not much of a problem, but I could see where it could happen. Not fair to guests who are paying top dollar for pool and hot tub amenities). Pool toys left in pool for days Room cleaning not consistent. PRICE We inquired about reservations for next year at the same time (16 days), we were astonished that the price has doubled. Mind you, this is not a luxury resort with bar, spa, exercise room, room service, restaurant. The new price does not reflect what you are getting. And while we loved our time there and would love to come back, we will find somewhere else for that kind of money. An all inclusive somewhere, our trip to Italy was cheaper and our Ireland vacation that is coming up is cheaper.

We first stayed at the Anna Maria Beach Resort the last week of March 2021. We enjoyed our visit and before checking out reserved the same week for 2022. The cost was a little under $4000. We enjoyed another stay this year and before checking out asked the availability and cost for the same room for the last week in March 2023. To our surprise, the cost would be $12,000 +. We will not return. The Anna Maria Beach Resort is a very nice venue - comfortable, clean, well equipped rooms; spacious pool area with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. It is right on the beach and the hotel provides chairs and umbrellas on the beach. All this is very inviting, but not worth over $1700 a night. We're sorry we won't be returning, but the price is out of the question.
