The most pleasant quality of the Anna Maria Beach Resort, besides being steps away from the beach, is the staff! From the front desk to the cleaning crews, everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. After someone recommended Anna Maria Island, we took a chance during this bizarre year of COVID-19 and quarantine and booked AMBR. The room was very pleasant, with a very large bed, large bathroom and a tiny kitchen area. There's no cook top of any kind, but a fridge, toaster and coffee maker. We enjoyed easy breakfasts and lunches on our terrace overlooking the ocean and pool. The island itself is an underdeveloped beach town without any large brand resorts anywhere. What you find for restaurants is a range of local dives to decent fare. The best we found was The Sandbar Restaurant (see my other review) on the north tip of the island. Well worth any distance you need to travel to enjoy farm-to-table, locally sourced delicious foods, wines and cocktails. We fortunately found this gem on our last night, and were treated to the most gorgeous after-dinner sunset. If you're looking for an unassuming Florida island holiday, Anna Maria Island is a great option. One note of caution -- we didn't really research the stormy season (July – Sept). We luckily arrived after a hurricane took over the Gulf, but we did have small thunderstorms blow through a couple times a day. And what did we do? We held hands and walked down the beach as the sky opened up on us! Great times!…
We stayed for 3 nights at the end of August and had a wonderful time. The hotel is newly renovated and super clean, great decor, fab pool and we especially liked the outdoor checkers board. Our room had a beach and pool view. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful.
We stayed at Anna Maria Beach Resort for 3 nights and had an amazing time. The pool is well maintained and so big! The beach is just footsteps away. They have everything you could need for your stay. The room was clean and they thought of everything. We stayed in a suite with a full kitchen and they had all the utensils we needed to cook at home. The room feels like a home! We will be back!
Really enjoyed our visit. The hotel is right on the beach. I felt secure with both a code for the room and the beach. We did receive a text and were able to check in a little early. You are able to select your room before you go and the pictures are real. We stayed in Clearwater, Siesta Key and here. None of the hotels are offering room service right now. However, this hotel being small, we were able to get what we needed quickly. Everyone was very friendly. The travel insurance you purchase for travel does not cover pandemics. My husband and I almost lost a bundle with a cruise. Definitely staying here again.
I asked to move a reservation to next year willing to pay more and was told they are not rescheduling but will charge a cancelation fee. However, there is an article about Anna Maria Vacations relaxing their policy and offering full credit on future stays so guests don't lose money! Very disheartening especially for folks who work hard, save for a nice vacation and who can't afford to lose money. Especially when asking to simply reschedule for a later time. Unbelievable.
