Lyfe Resort & Residences is often celebrated for its serene atmosphere and suitability for family stays, bolstered by a staff that many guests find friendly and attentive. However, the resort receives criticism for lacking beach amenities and imposing additional charges for essentials like chairs.
Room cleanliness and maintenance are concerns for some travelers, along with overcrowding and unexpected fees which detract from the perceived value of their stay. While service experiences vary, with compliments on staff helpfulness contrasting with complaints about slow elevators and poor maintenance, the resort's prime location with easy access to Miami Beach and the airport is a consistent highlight for guests.

Detailed Reviews
With Hyde’s pedigree this should be an outstanding place for a beachfront holiday, unfortunately to date our experience has been very disappointing.
Having paid exorbitant charge for Valet Parking in advance, we had to transport our large 5 pieces of luggage to the suite on our own.
Suite 705 was well located and on the surface well equipped, but we were disappointed to find badly stained carpets, in suite and hallways.
The “Gourmet Calibre” kitchen provided no hot water in the sink and one dirty wine glass. When we requested that the hotel provide us with a couple of clean wine glasses, we did not expect to find no action taken some 9 hours after placing our quite reasonable request.
Subsequent direct contact with the front desk and Housekeeping again yielded no action.
Attempts to make contact with a Duty Manager or Supervisor proved fruitless as no management were on site at 2000 hrs.
A personal visit to the in house restaurant to obtain two clean wine glasses was met with a flat refusal.
We booked this stay via “I Prefer” who I would expect would be concerned about being associated with such in-caring service.
Also the lifts appear to be over stretched, leading to unacceptable delays in accessing rooms.
Surely things will improve before we check out?

+1
I will start by saying the room is big with a full kitchen. There are 2 pools on the 9th floor with one tiny hot tub. 4 elevators for the whole building and they each only fit 8 people. The carpets are extremely dirty . They either need to be deeply cleaned or taken out all together. The same could be said for the furniture. Even on the 9th floor the couches are dirty and some even have cigarette holes in them! The first day when we entered the room we realized right away the air conditioner was broken. They fixed it the next day . When I tried to wash and dry my clothes we realized the dryer was broken too. There is no housekeeping the whole 4 nights we stayed there. I called to say the drier is broken and to send someone to fix it , they sent me a blow drier?! They charge a fee for everything and you can’t even sit on the chairs facing the ocean . The security guard came and told us this is only for “owners”. There were 2 rows of pool chairs only for owners . This left limited amount of chairs for hotel guests. I do believe this hotel could be much better and even pleasant with better management. The manager needs to go around make sure everything is clean and working . If there is no maid service daily the hotel will eventually fall apart . It already looks like it needs a good scrubbing. It sucks because it has so much potential. The design is hip and modern . Sadly I cannot recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Okay, the previous reviews had me scared to actually stay here but the cancellation window had closed. Yes, the elevators are a big problem but they had someone at the lobby elevators and the 9th floor to try and improve the situation. At busy times I did take the stairs at least halfway. Not enough elevators for over 40 floors but we managed fine.
They had someone caulking and painting the hallways 3 of the 6 days we were there. They were attempting to make improvements.
The valet was terrific, as long as we called down for our car 15 minutes before we left the room it was almost always ready.
Housekeeping was always on our floor by 9 am and I would trade out essentials and only needed her to clean once that week although they offered daily. They did a very thorough job and I have OCD so I’m picky. I will admit when we arrived there were stains on 2 of the 3 comforters but we didn’t use them. Ok the beach, is very small, narrow and overcrowded. The owners get the good or VIP section ; On the beach, by the pool and they have there own elevator. But they are owners. The beach staff did well with what they had to work with but it’s much better to go down to Hollywood Boulevard beach instead.
Mitch at the outside bar was excellent at customer service, he was upbeat and a hard worker. The employees we came in contact with were all friendly to us and said hello. I was comfortable because we had a living room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a washer and dryer plus a kitchen. I hope they continue to make improvements because it does have potential in a good location.

It is also nice to see that you enjoyed Butler's service on the beach and appreciated our friendly associates. However, we are sorry for the issues you had with the elevators and regret the wait time you experienced with regard to valet service. Your feedback is important to us as we continually strive to improve. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Sincerely, General Manager

The AirBnB host's condo was well maintained and they were very responsive to our needs.
The building management was awful! They refunded our daily resort fee due to lack of chairs and umbrellas for the beach. Be aware, the resort fee will only give you two chairs, two beach towels and one umbrella for a condo that hold four people. Chairs and umbrella contract is with a third party up the beach with limited supply and you have to stay on the beach in front of that hotel where get the chairs & umbrella..
There are only 4 elevators that can handle 8 people per elevator for 41 floors. During our trip one to two elevators were broken and one of us got trapped in an elevator for 45 minutes waiting for the fire department to open the door. This situation led to long wait times at the remaining elevators and happen almost every day.
We used Uber instead of renting a car and paying $25/day for valet parking services at the Hyde.

The Hyde is a very nice resort but they have many issues. I’ll start by providing some tips: first and foremost, get your cardio in before your trip. The elevator situation is unfavorable to all guests, and at times we had to take the stairs up and down 22 floors. Some people waited almost an hour on an elevator to get to their room or lobby. The second tip is to really save up for this trip because the resort restaurant will take your money and refuse letting you bring your own water, alcohol, or food to the pool. Next, set your expectations low on customer service. Most of the staff in the lobby and restaurant were rude and unhappy. A very few were nice and friendly, but most weren’t at all. Last tip, buy laundry and dishwasher detergent and, most importantly, toilet paper as the resort doesn’t provide housekeeping or essential items. I’ve stayed at resorts before that were individually owned that provided exceptional customer service, housekeeping, and essentials but this one does not. On a positive note, the beach is beautiful, so is the resort and location is pretty solid. Overall, I’d give this place a soft 2/5. Good luck

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments about your recent stay at our hotel. We regret not meeting all of your expectations and apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused by our elevator service during our peak season. While we know this does not alleviate your frustration, we do want to say we are very grateful for your patience. We are also sorry for any issues you experienced in our restaurant and will share your comments appropriately. Furthermore, we are disappointed to learn of the unfortunate interaction you had with our associates. Our staff genuinely cares about providing an enjoyable stay to all of our guests, and this isolated incident is not a reflection of our usual service standards. We will bring your concerns to the attention of our team as we continuously strive to improve. On a positive note, we are happy to know you loved our location and the beach. We would like the opportunity to serve you better in the future and hope you will consider a return visit. Sincerely, Neal Spivack

I decided to take my girlfriend to this hotel thinking it would be outstanding for the price I was paying. Figured out fast that this was not the case. First we paid an extra $40 a day basically for two towels and seating if it was available. The security in the place is absolutely terrible. You have to tell them your room number every single time you enter and they hassle you to put on clothes overtop of your bathing suit. My girlfriend forgot her cover up in the room and it was such a problem for the security. I felt overall uncomfortable at this hotel, never felt welcomed. I was at the beach all day with my girlfriend and we wanted to head up to the pool. There were no seats available by the pool, even though there’s another pool and seating that was blocked off. There were only about 20 available seats for however many hundreds of people visiting here. Makes sense. We were told by the workers that we were not allowed to sit in the “owners only” area , even though there were no owners there!!! And we were told to just go down to the beach, even though we just came back from the beach. There’s a nice shallow pool in the middle of the two, however, it’s only reserved for “owners only”😂😂😂.The beach is another thing… it’s about a 5-10 minute walk down the beach, which doesn’t seem like much, but when it’s hot it’s unbearable. Also, there are only 3 running elevators for the amount of guests at this resort, it’s ridiculous. Don’t even get me started on the drinks and food. Food is tasty, but super super expensive. If you want a drink, it costs minimum of 18 dollars. Not even allowed to bring food into the pool area because Hyde workers want you to waste all of your money on their food. Our room was very nice however, but we stayed through Air BnB. This hotel treats guests horribly, but treats owners like royalty.
Overall, I feel bad for our air bnb owner because his room is absolutely amazing, just unfortunate that it is with Hyde residences.

Ill start with the misinformation that was given over the phone. We specifically asked for a bar that will play ALL football games and what we got was a pool bar with 2 TV's, which one was broken. The elevator situation is a mess. 4 elevators, 2 working out of the 4. It takes a solid 10 minutes to get anywhere. The staff acts as if they are bothered when asking questions. We requested them to bring tooth paste to the room and one person told us they have none in the building, we have to go to 7-11 across the street. We called back in the hopes someone else would answer, they did and said they would bring it right up. Never showed. The rooms are adequate, clean and up to par. Wifi doesn't work for outside devices with, once again, no regard for any assistance from the staff. Finally, we had room service knock on the door twice between 10-11 am to ask if we can check out so they can clean. Check out is noon. Waste of money. Terrible overall experience.

The views were great. Everything else was not. The biggest problem by far was the enormous delay for the elevators: every trip required a 5-10 minute wait in front of the doors (going up or down). That alone would make me never want to come back, but there were other issues.
Service was extremely slow as well: check-in took forever, with only one guy working the desk and a line of people wrapping around the lobby. I didn't park a car, but I saw long lines of people waiting for the valet to recover their cars every time I walked in or out.
The internet connections were awful: extremely slow at best, and with frequent drops ("connected, no internet").
Hard to believe, but we actually ran out of hot water in the morning, so forget taking a shower.
It was also very noisy. Not from the inside, but from the outside. We were on the water, on an upper floor, but could still hear people yelling on the beach and motorcyles racing on Ocean Drive at night.
We stayed in one of the residences, so the desk staff wouln't help us with innumerable problems in the room: nonfunctioning phones, TVs, and oven, burned out bulbs in overhead lights, and dirty furniture. The only reason I'm not rating the whole place with a single star is that I can't really hold the facility responsible for an inconsiderate owner.
Anyway, the short version of this tale is that I'm never coming back to this location and would recommend that you avoid it as well.

We've stayed here twice in a month. Both times were terrible experiences. FOr such a seemingly nice place, it was horri ble. The wait for elevators whether going up or down was exceedingly long. Long lines formed. There is no service elevator, so frequently the maintenance men or the big cart for housekeeping were in the elevator and only a few could get on. The waiting area was tiny! I've never seen a hotel like this. Going down, the elevator would stop at every floor. It usually stopped at 9 where the pool is or 2 where the parking is. The elevators were packed!
The rooms, though once nice and high end, have been ruined. Many stains on the carpeting, many stains on the sofas. The kitchen equipment was a joke. They spent big bucks installing wolf and Boshe appliances, but then give you one knife, 2 forks and a spoon. Two cups. The coffeemaker didn't work. Second stay we asked for low floor so we wouldn't have to wait for elevators.
The music from the pool kept us up every night till midnight. It was loud!
The check in process was abysmal....it took over 20 minutes...and both times there was a line. You have to go to front desk for towels, detergent, soap etc...and it
is horrible because you wait for the elevator longer than any hotel I have every visited.

I think a 3 year old on speed designed this property. It is your typical Miami structure where they go cheap but make look fancy. This is important to note because you will find all kinds of things that don’t work or don’t make sense. Doors slam into other doors and the carpet was installed by a group of 9 year olds. The furniture hasn’t moved so good luck on it being really clean.
The worst part are the elevators. 40 floors with 4 elevators. People have been waiting 30 minutes to get on an elevator. I’ve done the 20 floors to our room a few times.
The pool is nice but keep your items off the pool deck. All the water flows away from the pool and under your chairs.
The staff is great, just working with a defective product.
Pools close at sundown. Some nights they will enforce, other nights they won’t.
You also aren’t allowed to bring any sort of food or drink to the pool. So if you have kids, no water or snacks. Please buy some French fries for $15 (that’s maybe an exaggeration but I could be right).
If you’re staying as a guest that rented through the property, there is no cleaning service. This is truly a condo where you’ll need to go out and get soap, cleaning supplies, cups, etc. The showers have dispensers for soap, conditioner, and shampoo but they are not filled.
The view: both sides have obstructions. Don’t let the pics fool you. The best side is the south side of the building. The pool will be covered in shadows by 12:30p (based on late December).
So what’s nice? It’s warmer than where we live. The place works and the price is ok. $3950 for a 2 BR 2 BA with King and 2 doubles, plus pullout couch. Checked in Dec 25 and out Jan 1.
