We had been looking forward to staying at this hotel for several years. However, the stay was disappointing. Both days that we stayed there we had very spotty hot water that turned full on cold in the middle of each of our showers. We raised this issue both days with the owner. It's hard to explain, but while they said they were trying to address this the undertone seemed to be questioning that our experience was real. They didn't seem to prioritize the comfort of their guests. The eventual response was that they had found no problem and this just tends to happen when the hotel is full. Sorry, but hot water is a basic. If you're having this problem routinely when full, the hotel needs to address that. Completely spoiled my impression of this otherwise very cute hotel. A little more attention to customer service rather than the decor would go a long way, especially in a hotel that touts a Tripadvisor Gold rating.…

Hotel's Favorite
A great location , clean and pretty surroundings and very comfortable stay - would totally recommend. We stayed 2 nights and it was my son Matthews birthday , we organised a cake to be bought and put in the fridge the day of our arrival and not only was a cake waiting for him , but some chocolates and a card as well and when the cupboard opened a "Happy Birthday " balloon popped out. My son had the best start to the holiday and his birthday. I would certainly stay there and recommend to fellow travellers - Veronica on site manager , could not do enough for us and thank her for making the stay so perfect and so memorable - thank you

We stayed at the DeSoto for the 4th time in Sept 2023 and it was more than a pleasure. The ocean beckons and there's the added advantage of a lifeguard stand right there at the public beach access. Veronica manages a staff that keeps the place clean and beautiful with the right balance of warm availability and hands off privacy for the guests. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. We love the quiet residential neighborhood, the miles of walking/bike path along the beach and the amenities at DeSoto that have made our vacations there memorable. Dinners on the gas grill and enjoyed at the covered outdoor dining tables simply can't be beat. We considered other accommodations, even drove up and down the beach looking for something comparable for a change and came to the conclusion that we couldn't find anything we liked better--or even as much. This place is amazing , beautiful, quiet , peaceful and cozy with everything you need plus free parking , easy and convenient check in and very close to the beach . This was easily the best stay at a hotel I’ve ever had. The experience was paradise!! The location is perfect, steps away from the private beach, and I could have just stayed in the garden all day. Not only were the rooms clean, they had everything you need, a whole kitchenette, beach towels. There were also several books to borrow, as well as medications, sunscreen, aloe and other toiletries, available at all times. I loved how it was eco friendly, and they provided beach chairs, beach umbrellas and coolers, as well as bikes and helmets. I was able to easily ride down to Hollywood Boardwalk, and enjoy a day on the beach with everything I couldn’t bring on the plane with me. The accommodations alone were outstanding but the staff was the best part of the stay for me. Veronica, the manager, was so welcoming and kind and showed me everything I needed to know. She watched my stuff for me as I headed to the beach, and told me she would call me when my room was ready, and that if I needed anything, I could just give her a call or text. Her and the rest of the staff were so sweet, and if I ever find myself heading down to Hollywood again, I will absolutely be staying here.…

Desoto has done an excellent job converting what appears to be an old 8 unit apartment building into a great, cozy hotel just a min or two away from Dania beach, which we found to be easy going and quiet even during spring break. The staff was super helpful, very nice and attentive to details, such as free use of beach bikes and chairs, and a helpful guest closet with left behind amenities such as sunscreen. Highly recommend for a weekend or a week long getaway. Great restaurants, like the Tiki Tiki bar are just a 10 min walk from the Desoto.

What amazing relaxing experience. The vibe was just right. The unit was clean and so quaint I just loved it. Great location to the beach and night life. Very clean and friendly and relaxing. Great for a romantic get away or girls weekend. Lovely

I booked my room reservation for several months out and as I always, I sent a note saying "Please make sure the room is clean Thank you" I've worked for years for hotels- It was just a request. I was told to go somewhere else. Is their Hotel so filthy that they were saving me from disappointment? Cancelled my booking at their request so I will never know-

Cannot say enough great things about this wonderful place and the folks running it. From the welcoming text sent a few days before our trip from Steve, detailing all we needed to know about checking in and whatnot, to the personal tour of the grounds and greeting we received from Josias, we could not have asked for more. The well manicured garden area was absolutely beautiful, full of local flora, beautiful tiki huts and overall, just a wonderful place to relax. The beach was just steps away, and was never crowded. While the location sits a little north of the broadwalk, it never felt far away, as the hotel provides complimentary bicycles for use throughout the stay, making it just minutes away. In addition, beach chairs, beach toys, boogie boards, and even sunscreen, among other things, were all available for use, at no additional cost. And while we at out for most meals, we did find the kitchenette with fridge and freezer, microwave and stove top allowed us to start each day with a home cooked breakfast. Josias and Steve were great, and the other guests were very friendly and the whole place had a great atmosphere. Room was super clean and had all the items we needed to make our stay a memorable one!
