We stayed here multiple times before Covid loved every bit of everything. The service the rooms the lobby breath taken. I just stayed 9/23-9/27 and the rooms weren’t clean like before stains on the carpets baseboard filthy… lobby is leaking all over from the roof they had workers laying out towels everywhere. How can a hotel charge as much as they do and this be happening. All weekend long it was so hard to get service by the pool. They are so under staffed and you can tell.
The Diplomat is a large beachfront resort hotel. The lobby is beautiful and airy. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I booked an oceanfront room and it was lovely. The bathroom included a spacious tub, frosted glass enclosed shower and separately enclosed commode with top notch finishes. The room was nicely appointed but the mattress wasn't on par with what I'd expect in a luxury hotel. It was a tad soft although I slept reasonably well. There are several pools and they are amazing. It's right on the beach of course so you get plenty of opportunity to experience white Florida sand and blue water. Wireless performed flawlessly which even now is fairly rare these days. I would expect there to be room service but I believe they are just starting to reopen so it was not available. Also, there currently isn't a restaurant on site with full breakfast, only a cafe with a small menu of offerings. If you want full breakfast you're going to have to go offsite. Again this may be available in the future when the place fully opens. Kudos to management on staff training. Every staff member I came across was very friendly and helpful.…
This was our second time coming to the Diplomat and my kids don’t want to go anywhere else. You truly feel on vacation from the moment you pull up. The smell in the lobby is amazing!! The staff is outstanding!!! We were here for 4 days and 3 nights. The hotel food can be pricey. My son is addicted to their doughnuts. There are small refrigerators in each room. I chose to Instacart groceries, vodka, and even some pharmacy supplies we needed. It was super easy and items came quickly. Joe at the concierge was THE BEST! He recommended an amazing pizza place “Angelo’s” for one night. He also made us reservations at GG’s Waterside which was an excellent choice. The restaurant totally gave us VIP treatment since Joe made our reservation. We were slightly interrupted by Hurricane Ida this trio but the hotel was so accommodating and gave us a late check out.…
Well maintained property. Great restaurant on-site. Good blend of couples as well as families with kids. Pools were all very clean with plenty of seating. My only complaint is that the bar service is painfully slow and understaffed, many times 5-10 people deep waiting in line for beverage service.
This will probably be my last trip to the Diplomat for a while. Though there were great parts of staying at the hotel, overall enough is not great to average the full experience to mediocre. On the good side, the rooms are clean and well-apportioned. The staff at the hotel are friendly overall, and I enjoyed time at the pool. The restaurants were very good to include a very nice meal at the Diplomat Prime. On the not so good side, the facilities are not as well-maintained as I have seen in the past. From areas in the pool under construction, to a leak on entry, to restaurants that are not open, it does not feel like the same place. Staff issues are completely understandable given the labor market now, so I understand how it can be a concern. However, the lack of dining and other amenities leads to pressure on other amenities, the valet, etc. Also, I had two unusual experiences. The first was the room placement on the 33rd floor near very loud private events. This happens sometimes at hotels, though there was not anything they could do to help. The second involved credit card changes. I am used to a hotel taking an initial deposit and then charging the remainder of purchases when you check-out. Instead, the hotel kept making charges throughout my relatively short stay setting off fraud alerts. When this happened, they sent a note to my door and then shot off the room keys. This is unusual, and I have never seen this at a Hilton hotel. It all worked out fine, but it doesn't help the experience. Overall, there are better places to stay.…
Was just there for a meetings and everything was really good!! All the staff was super welcoming and friendly. The banquets team was really good and Mitch from the events team was a huge help with our meetings. Would highly recommend the diplomat for meetings.
The hotel is amazing. Service is excellent but joe was amazing. Great service and funny. The service at the bar was great as well and the cleanliness of the room was immaculate but overall Joe was amazing he took care of us from the moment we walked in. Great job
The guys at the Front Desk are amazing!! It was Gencalo(SP), Misel(SP) and the manager Brian. They were so accommodating for my wife’s and I anniversary. They were able to get us a great room and some drink vouchers. Every time we went to the Front Desk all of the staff was so friendly with us. They are all happy and greeted us with smiles every time, thank you so much!!! Some small issues was no coffee makers in the room. Food and drink options were very pricey. And there is really no where to eat dinner at the hotel. Pool and beach were amazing we will definitely be back.
We have been five days, the room ocean front with balcony was nice, the balcony a bit dirty, In the morning for breakfast the downstair shop was full, and we need to wait long for a coffe. Although reasonable prices
Justin Jones and all of the guys at the beach are amazing and such a great help setting up beach chairs. The resort is beautiful and our room is wonderful with a large wrap around balcony. The staff at Playa are top notch getting everything you could need to drink and eat at the beach and at the pool. This is our second time at the Diplomat and we’ve enjoyed it both times. It is perfect for couples.
