Over the years I have stayed in B&Bs in Europe, Australasia and North America, and Laurel Oaks is one of the tops. I was in Gainesville to find a home, as I will be moving there in several months. My knowledge of the town was limited, and Monta and Peggy were generous with information and advice. The house and grounds...

We have stayed here twice and will definitely stay there again whenever we are in Gainesville. The first time was for our daughter's UF graduation and we stayed downstairs in the "Library." Our second time was to attend the Gatornationals drag racing weekend and we stayed upstairs in the "Laurel." Both rooms were great - very clean and very comfortable....

My husband and I stayed here during a trip to Gainesville - we had picked this B&B because of the great reviews. We were made to feel welcome from the time we arrived. Everything was wonderful, the room was very clean and comfortable, the B&B had been beautifully renovated and we loved hearing of its history. We can't say enough...

I stayed here for a conference at UF and I will be back next year. Monta and Peggy are fabulous hosts, the rooms are very clean and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious (I left stuffed every morning!) Plus I really appreciated the fact that the location was a quick 5 minute walk to all the downtown restaurants. The spa tub...

The hospitality, ambience, and wonderfully attentive staff made our trip to Gainesville spectacular. Monta and Peggy did such a great job renovating this home and the stories and photos provide a colorful insight into the past. The breakfast was “to die for”! If you are traveling to the Gainesville area, this is the place to stay.

I stayed here during a visit to the University of Florida. It is a historic home in Gainesville that now serves as a bed and breakfast. The owner, chef, and caretaker is a personable, helpful, and knowledgeable individual. He is also an outstanding chef and the breakfasts are far superior to anything you'd get at a hotel (or probably home...

The property is perfectly located. They are far enough away from the college scene yet close enough to walk a few blocks and be surrounded by restaurants and music. Monta and Peggy were gracious hosts and served a delicious three course breakfast. We have spent much more at other B&B's and never been served like we were or felt as...

My wife and I have stayed at the Laurel Oak twice now, and will no doubt stay there again. The beds are ridiculously comfortable. The rooms are well furnished. Ours wasn't huge, but it was certainly comfortable. The gas fireplace was great for warming up after a moonlit canoe trip. The bathtub is nearly as large as our bathroom at...

Just spent two wonderful days at the Laurel Oak Inn . This was our fourth trip to Gainesville to visit our daughter . We have stayed the other times at one of the commercial hotels in downtown and decided to try a B and B this trip. We are so glad we did . Beautiful property with lovely grounds, a...

We felt like we were welcomed by friends as we arrived at Laurel Oak Inn. We loved it, the room is very comfortable, very comfy bed, and a lovely large ensuite. Fantastic home cooked breakfast. In easy walking distance of downtown Gainesville, which has a great choice of places to eat. Would recommend Laurel Oak Inn to everyone.
