After a 12 hours 70+ mile day on the Katy Trail, Joey's Birdhouse was just the ticket. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and hot water was plentiful. Joey had snacks waiting for us and my brother really appreciated the cold beer in the fridge. Breakfast was the perfect start for another day on the Katy Trail.

We stayed at several B&Bs along the Katy Trail and this was by far our favorite. It's not the fanciest, but when it comes to what's important Joey doesn't disappoint. Joey had the room cooled down with a/c for our arrival on a hot day and welcomed us with the most refreshing watermelon fresh from her garden. The spacious room... More

My friend and I stayed in late May while we were hiking the Katy Trail. There was a terrible storm as we were traveling to Joey's Bird House and we were happy to find such a great place to stay. Originally we were only booked for one night, but we loved the accommodations, so we decided to stay an extra... More

Not very fancy, but wonderful. Huge clean room and two cold beers in the frig which was just the thing after a hard day on the trail that included fixing a flat. Joey is wonderful and cooked a breakfast the next morning. I especially appreciated covered parking for my bike since it rained over night. Don't miss this place if... More

Not fancy, but absolutely 100% charming. It's just a stone's throw to the Katy Trail, which is welcomed after a long day's ride. There was bird-themed art on the wall, a kitchenette with vintage dishes and a welcome snack upon arrival. The hostess was engaging, sharing stories as we waited for others in our party out on the deck. Breakfast... More

We booked Joey's Bird House because we wanted to be in the Hermann area but close to the Katy Trai,l and because the price was so reasonable. It turned out to be the best part of our trip. It's directly on the trail, and when we arrived there were cookies, bananas, oranges, apples, snacks, French press coffee, beer, fresh orange... More

We stayed here after riding 45 miles on our bikes when our bodies were only prepared for half of that. We were met with a cold beer that tasted like sweet nectar. Joey cooked us a wonderful dinner that we had requested in advance. We slept like logs, then she sent us off with another wonderful meal to do lots... More

During our out-and-back ride on the Katy Trail in September 2015 we had the good fortune to reserve rooms at Joey's Birdhouse and the nextdoor Merchantile in McKittrick, MO. When we arrived we were treated to cookies, orange juice and cold beer. Joey maintains an amazing garden behind the Birdhouse and said we were welcome to wander through it and... More

Joey Los makes you feel welcome and special from the minute you arrive. The Bird House is right on the Katy Trail, so very convenient and close to Hermann, MO across the river. Ate breakfast in Joey's place next door along with Rich, her friend and the proprietor of the McKittrick Mercantile building next door. Rich is a wonderful guy,... More
