When I go to the West Coast of Florida on business; there are several types of criteria I must have: 1. A swimming pool whether inside or out and it must be heated 2. Quiet surroundings 3. A front desk that is available for check in and checking out. The last one you might think is strange but since COVID the Hotels are doing away with actual people and you to check into a virtual screen with a live person on the screen when you check in and out. Well The Comfort Inn and Suites Airport in Fort Myers is the best hotel in Ft Myers. 1. The swimming pool is indoors and open from 6am to 11pm daily 2. The housekeeping department will freshen your room daily if you are staying more than 1 day. 3. The front desk is manned with real people and the Front desk person who check me in is “Nancy C” is outstanding. Very welcoming and makes you feel that coming to the hotel is an extension of your home, away from home. 4. Since COVID the breakfast buffet is limited; which is fine by me. 5. The rooms are clean and spacious and quiet. My room even has a ceiling fan for comfort. Every staff member abides by the rules with wearing a mask. 6. They have a rewards program that you earn points for each stay. This is definitely a hotel to come to when away from your home. It’s number 1 in my book.

Comfort Inn's are always a hit or miss in each state. With a pandemic going on, only so many hotels can stay open and survive economically. I give props for this hotel to welcome guest and accommodate Airline Flight Crew. In this hard times a lot of employees are let go and they're doing the best they can. Hotel staff is very nice and check in was fast and easy. At least we have clean sheets and towels. Rooms have mini fridge and microwave. They're still providing room amenities and free wifi. Free breakfast and shuttle to and from airport.

My husband and i arrived at this hotel for a one night stay to catch an early flight near the airport. Upon arrival our room was neat and clean everything seemed to look like it would be a easy relaxing night. My husband left to gas up our rental car and to my surprise just about 15 or so later there is a knock on the door and male voice on the other side saying hotel maintenance here to check your phone. The first thing that came to mind was why would someone be knocking on my door asking to check my phone? So i said nothing and did not open the door. Then again came another knock and the male voice said the same thing "maintenance man here to check your phone". Sitting on the edge if the bed wondering what would happen next the door opens and the men steps through to the threshold of the room..immediatley i yell get out of my room and he said i have to check your phone and i said louder get out now! He then turned around and left. I had never been so shocked, angry, surprised, so many emotions all at once. I called down to the desk and asked if there was anyone coming around checking the phones and she said no there is not. I called my husband and on his way in he immediately went to the front desk and asked what was going on. The desk clerk and the guy who came into our room were together and the desk clerk stated she did know but that he would not be going around to the rooms again. We should have called the police but was only thinking about how tired we were that's until i tried to sleep wandering if that guy or who knows someone else would come into our room that night. Oh and let me add our door was locked and deadbolted..he had a master pass. I did call the manager when we got home and told him the full story and he said he would refund our room charge and he even sent me a receipt in my email. Well tonight my husband checked our statement and he never refunded the money and we were charged twice. So please think about this when staying here.

I would like to apologize for our maintenance guy. He was trying to update all the room's phone pads. You were totally reimbursed for your stay. The total room charge was credited back to your card. Again, please accept our apology.

I’m an avid traveler (though I know my Travel Advisor profile won’t corroborate this), and I have never had as bad of a night sleep as I did at this hotel. The hotel AC is on a rigid on / off cycle that I have never encountered before. As such, every ten to fifteen minutes the AC would simply turn itself off. This happened ALL NIGHT LONG! Anyone who has ever heard an air conditioner understands how noisy and disruptive this is. I barely slept a wink all night. The next day, in an effort to improve my experience in Ft Myers, I explained the situation to the hotel staff. In an attempt to be helpful, they lent me keys to two more rooms where the AC did the exact same thing! I tried to explain to them how the difference between an active air conditioner and total silence could be disruptive to a good night sleep, but they simply didn’t get it. I feel terrible leaving a single issue review. However, I’m literally unable to sleep here, which has never really happened to me before. And there’s just no way this hotel’s amenities make up for the deliberate cheapness they have afforded to their air conditioners.

In the area for business. The hotel is very nice. Room was very clean and updated. Clean carpet! Nice area about 15 minutes from Estero. Breakfast selections was poor especially compared to other Comfort Suites on our trip. No bagels, cream cheese or meats except pork sausage. Very safe area. Ate at a good restaurant nearby called Steven Tomato. I wouldn't advise using a credit card there. Pretty sure my card was compromised there. Glad card company caught it.
