We stayed one night as party of a package with the Gulf Seminole Railway Murder Mystery Dinner Train. The hotel was clean and comfortable, which pleased me to no end because I had been suspicious about doing the package, due to what seemed to me to be a low price for the combination of the dinner train and room. The person checking us in was wonderfully welcoming, and we were happy about the bag of treats we received from the hotel upon checkin (water, peanut butter crackers, and Hershey’s Kisses). Something had happened with the kitchen, so the hotel was not providing its usual breakfast, we were told, but there supposedly was a continental breakfast set up in a meeting room. We missed it, so we can’t comment on its quality. The reason I’m writing this review is to praise the hotel for quick follow up when I had a question about a pending charge on my credit card the next day. I emailed the hotel’s general “contact” email address, and I had an answer within a half-hour! That really impressed me, as did the answer (that the charge would disappear). The speed with which I received that answer really impressed me!

the front desk staff was wondeful, but the smell of gas on the first floor was horrible. When we checked in we were told that the kitchen was closed and the full breakfast was not available, just a continental one, coffee, muffins toast was available. We were not notified, and we had reserved 7 rooms. We had booked thru Seminole Gulf Railway, the Murder Mystery Dinner Train . When we checked for the train, I asked about the breakfast at the hotel and was told that we had to speak to the hotel, the hotel said the train people were responsible. I tried to speak to the hotel manager but both were away . I left my phone numers and expected a call backsometime Monday. I called Monday, and twice on Tuesday. Finally I spoke to the manager who was nasty and accused me of trying to extort her for a refund for my group. I highly recommend you stay at the other hotel recommended by the murder mystery train ride. This is a very nasty manager who has no regard for her guests.

Margarita (front desk staff) is wonderful. The check-in process was quick and efficient. A great benefit of this Holiday Inn is the shuttle service provided to the downtown area. This is our second time at this particular location and we plan to go back on our next visit to Fort Myers.

This hotel became our backup plan when our house closing fell through. Devastated, we checked in, finding a clean room and great access to bring our small dog outside as needed. Margarita, at the front desk, was a huge help when we had trouble getting on wifi. We needed to stay vigilant for updates about the impending closing. She was sympathetic and had a great answer for anything we needed to know! Thanks to this hotel and Margarita, the very bad day became a very comfortable stay.

Comfortable bed and amenities. Close to downtown but not walking distance. Clean hotel. We purchased breakfast one morning, great coffee, average breakfast food. Was looking for a quick bite but only one girl was waitressing so it was not as fast as we would have liked. Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff.
