I’ve been here now 3 times this month and I have not had a pleasant experience with Nigel at the front desk each time. I feel compelled to write a bad review (towards him specifically) because there is nothing else bad to say about my stays here. 1st issue is Nigel doesn’t make eye contact when anyone that walks in the lobby. 2nd he didn’t tell the EXCELLENT van drivers (Bill & Paul!) that I had called for a pickup from dinner across the street and ended up waiting 1 hour and 18 min (with 2 calls) to be picked up. On my third stay he never told the van drivers that I was outside at the airport to be picked up and waited over 40 minutes for a pickup- only to be told that he ‘did tell them’ which was a lie. And the 3rd issue with Nigel is that he doesn’t make anyone feel welcome, he makes them feel like a burden. I needed my room key re-keyed and you would’ve thought I asked him to build me a new room with his frustrated reaction. Poor customer service on Nigel’s part- FANTASTIC customer service by the rest of the Guest Services Staff and especially Paul and Bill the GREAT van drivers! I’ll stay here again for sure but I’ll avoid Nigel and I encourage you to avoid him too.

Hi Ssweetness, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality of service and it seems that we've missed the mark. Ensuring your comfort and needs is our topmost priority and I'm sorry to hear about the level of service taken in addressing your needs is a letdown. What you described isn't the resemblance of True Hospitality that we always strive to provided. I brought this up to our local management. Trust that corrective measures and adequate coaching will be given to the concerned staff, so better service will be sorted out. On the other hand, I'll make sure to pass on your kind comments to the Guest Services staff, especially to Paul and Bill! We appreciate the opportunity you've given us. We look forward to hosting your stay again and show you our commitment to providing the exceptional service your deserve! Safe travels, Jomar M. Case Manager IHGService

This is the 2nd "newer design" HI we have visited in the past year. The first was at Disney Springs and it was great. This one looked similar, but that was all. The front desk and dining room staff seemed detatched -- they did their jobs but their minds and hearts were elsewhere. The room itself was okay. It was clean. However, it had been remodeled and the electrical outlets were all in the wrong place for the new floorplan. The lamp between the two beds could only be used if the entry area light was on. The shower was barely functional -- "rain" style showerhead with almost zero water pressure. We only ate in the dining room twice, ordering one breakfast off the menu and another from the breakfast buffet. In both cases the food was cold and very institutional (without taste). It was not a terrible stay, but I would not recommend this particular Holiday Inn to my friends and family.

Dear Michael P, thanks so much for your comprehensive review. Certainly seems like we were not on top of our game during your visit. Normally, the friendliness of our desk staff is considered friendly and efficient and we receive kudos for our food, we are proud to have Chef Murray Young, award-winning chef in Southwest Florida. As it relates to the rooms, we are currently working with designers to add more power sources inside the room and in the open air indoor-outdoor restaurant. I will share your review, as we do all reviews, with our staff to encourage continuous improvement. Hope you will give us another try in the future so we can show you the outstanding food and service we are known for, and what our guests deserve.

I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn in years, but my conference was scheduled for this facility. Due to weather, my flight was canceled and I wouldn't arrive on time. Gabriela handled it well. The next day when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised with everything at the hotel. Great front desk staff. Brooke and the others were incredible all weekend. The restaurant staff was equally as excellent. Annie was a pleasure at breakfast (the buffet was only $7.50 WOW!) Cameron was fabulous at night (he filled my tea glass with no question. The room was great. The Conference Center was exceptional as was the AV team. I have placed Holiday Inn at the top of travel plans moving forward. This location and their team we're incredible.

Holiday Inn at the Airport in Fort Myers FL- does have a shuttle. I suggest as soon as you get your bags to call. For us it took a good 30 or more minutes until the shuttle came to pick us up at the bus stop. Seems they do come to different stops and it is good to ask them when calling which door, 5 or 6 to go out and wait at. The gentleman worker, at the luggage section gave me this tip. The shuttle is a very high van with no access for handicap needs So one must climb up and in with no assistance, even if asked. Our van came and the door that the driver opened is street side not sidewalk side. Once in it is a few minutes drive to the hotel. They do accept tips. The driver did give me a list of restaurants when I asked for suggestions. His only route is the Town Square that has many food and shopping places; and the airport. So when we were suggested to try Marsales Italian place 5 miles away we needed a taxi. The pool is outside along with a hot tub, fenced in. With a pond or water outside and a sign about not bothering the alligators of which there is a family of 4. (see pix) Sadly the men across the way cutting the trees down, (I was told) were in an area where they had laid eggs as the gators watched from a distance. I took the towel from the room though I was told later there was towels near another entrance to the pool. The latch is a magnetic pull up and slide gate toward you to enter. There were a few tables to sit and eat or smoke at as one had an ashtray. They may have vending machines but they also have a little spot behind the front desk for snacks and drinks. I want to say the place was adequately clean though not what I would call spotless. The room was comfortable, quiet, and the maids were respectful and pleasant. There were many trophies of excellence displayed around. The restaurant inside, "Tiana's" was open until 11 pm. At 10:30 pm we ordered something off the menu that the cook put together-a fruit platter with cheese and crackers and big glasses of juices. There is a bar on the far side within the restaurant. Tania was lovely, assisting and creative as we put together a happy birthday sign for our friend. Many workers there were friendly but Nigel the manager was not a cooperative individual from the multiple times we had to speak with him or ask for assistance. As the last day there my friends came to visit us and we asked for a 3pm checkout. We were denied with so much stress about it that we just packed up and left at around 2pm, so I did not get a chance to show them the place, pool or our room.

Dear Ms. Mindy, thanks for your comprehensive review. Seems like your service experience was a bit uneven, which is disappointing as we strive for excellence across all departments. Happy to see that Tania stood out with her personal service. We will utilize your comments as a training vehicle for the gentleman you mentioned. Have a wonderful day.
