I've been staying here for a long time even after they out of the garage and the other wing. The snack section could have been refilled on a Friday afternoon they were all out of ice cream and chips and crackers and it was real skinny. Breakfast was pretty good it's not as good as most Holiday inns I've been to but it's it's all right it'll pass. Bed was comfortable I was on the port side they said but all I could see was concrete. And that's about it I've been staying I'll always stay I'll come down half a dozen times a year or more and always stay there if I can. The staff is friendly and and I used to live in Fort Lauderdale so I know my way around.
Great location, friendly staff, very good breakfast, clean room, comfortable bed. We had a maintenance issue with the window blind but it was fixed promptly. Only complaints would be low water pressure in the shower and those amazing disappearing pillows that go flat and are so uncomfortable that are being used by all the IHG HIE hotels now. Otherwise, this is a good place to stay for the price.
What was good: The staff: David the shuttle bus driver, front desk was lovely and super helpful at both check in and check out; breakfast ladies were fantastic -- great job everyone. What wasn’t fantastic: so noisy. We slept but were awakened with every door slam and every group of guests yakking it up in the corridor. This is a travel hotel so be considerate of your neighbours. We had a bit later check out and had two knocks on the door and two phone calls in the morning. I feel like the staff are trying really hard and are very positive in their work. The shuttle bus lady was bossy as heck. Left a bad taste for me see her bossing David to “get out of the way!” The bus costs $ 15-20 USD pp and is pretty gross. It’s just over a New York minute to the port, so take a cab instead. It was raining and I got totally soaked from water running INSIDE the shuttle. The driver was helpful with bags but impatient with other drivers. The shuttle from the airport to the hotel is complimentary; the one to the cruise port IS NOT. It costs companies a lot of $$ to have entry into the port so this is always a pay item no matter what. Would I stay here again. It’s not likely but never say never.…
Excellent, top notch customer service from the front desk receptionist Marie. One of the best services I’ve ever had at a hotel. She tried her best to accommodate us and help us and was nothing but friendly and caring and professional. We did have problems with the hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Two shuttles passed us saying that another shuttle will get us but never did. After waiting for 30 minutes in the hot, humid air with a crying 1 year old, we gave up and ended up using Uber. They also didn’t have a crib for us, but our son was able to sleep with us in the bed. (The pullout bed was not comfortable at all). Breakfast was simple, but good. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to many stores and restaurants.
I stayed in a room with 2 queen beds for 6 nights. Room was clean, nicely decorated. Mattresses were comfortable although approaching time for replacement. Great breakfast with lots of variety. However breakfast items such as fruit and milk frequently were depleted early and staff responded they did not have replacements. Front desk staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. My only criticism is that the room is very cramped and has a serious storage problem. It might work better as a room with just a single king bed. If I was staying for just a night or two the storage issue would not have been a problem. But the 2 limited size drawers were clearly inadequate for a week's stay for one person much less for 2. The room has a rolling table that pulls out from under the counter for a desk-height surface. While it was usable, when the table is pulled out, there is no room between the end of the bed and the counter for a desk chair. I made it work by placing the rolling table at a 90 degree angle, but it was contorted.…
Very nice hotel close to the airport. King room was very large and comfortable. There was a microwave and refrigerator. Good size bathroom. Plenty of room for 2 people to get ready in the morning. Nice selection of breakfast items with a server. Secure parking garage. Will stay here again.
The location is great. Hard to contact a hotel for a ride when you are cheap and don't want to turn on your phone to call them. The hotel was wonderful and would stay here again. We were placed in the older part of the hotel and it was ok. Our room attendant forgot to leave some amenities but I was able to get more items at the front desk. Breakfast worked wonderfully. We got an Uber to the cruise port. Got an XL for $14. It's close but not walkable. Was able to walk to the bridge and look at our ship before boarding. The shopping complex is great. When to the burger place in the shopping center it was yummy. Plan on staying again in 2024.
Clean rooms and pool. Front desk staff was very helpful. Shuttle to airport at 5 am is a bonus. Would stay here again. BTW shopping center across street has some undesirable characters. Supermarket has ready to go food and booze. Pita place in shopping center was great.
Stayed at hotel for cruise. Hotel was fine but transportation AFTER cruise was a LIE and they stole our money. Waited at cruise terminal to airport for over 1.5 hours and nothing came. All the phone numbers given to us weren’t working or no one picked up. Luckily didn’t miss flight as we went ahead and booked a Lyft…other people weren’t so lucky. Go with LYFT or UBER or Taxi.
We checked in at the Holiday Inn at Astoria Oregon Super friendly receptionist Peggy Sue loved her. very disappointing when we checked in our room and it was filthy. So sad. We complained and Peggy Sue upgraded us and bought us each a small but so appreciate it bottle of wine. Peggy Sue made our experience fabulous. Thank you Peggy Sue and may they make you manager
