We stayed at the Worthington for the 2nd time over Labor Day and now plan to make it an annual tradition. Staying at the Worthington makes for a truly memorable vacation due to the variety of people you get a chance to meet. The return of the Saturday afternoon happy hours was great and the staff also grilled hot dogs for everyone on Labor Day and provided complimentary beer and wine. Highly recommend staying here.
It was my first time there and I met so many nice people. The resort is an older place but in great shape. It is beautifully landscaped and has 3 pools and a hot tub. The staff are great and helpful. It is just steps from the beach. I had a blast and cant wait to go back! It is safe and very private. It is gated and noone can get in without a key. Lots of body types and something for everyone.
I stayed at Worthington for one week in July 2022. My room was in the Villa Venice building which I chose when booking as the rooms were a bit more expensive, so I thought they would be of a slightly higher standard than the Worthington and Alcazar buildings. That was not the case. The room rate was an average of $264.00 USD per night including taxes. The Worthington is ideally located for those wanting to take advantage of both the beach and the three pools on site. The hotel location is two blocks in from the beach on N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard. The hotel is a short walking distance to the gay area of the beach at Sebastien Street. The hotel is four miles to gay bars, restaurants and shopping in Wilton Manors and is easily reached by car, Uber or Taxi. The front-desk staff were friendly and helpful. Guests were a mixture of ages, both singles and couples and for the most part quite friendly. The pools, hot tubs, grounds and chaises were well maintained. The hotel lacked basic standard amenities one would expect. Despite advertising daily housekeeping on their website, this service was NOT provided on a daily basis even though I requested it. During my seven-night stay, my room was cleaned and linens changed only once. I called the front desk to ask for fresh towels and I was told if I wanted fresh towels, I had to bring my used towels to the front desk myself to exchange them for fresh towels. On another occasion, I had to ask for toilet paper. Again, I had to go with a housekeeper to a closet in the Worthington building to retrieve it. Other guests told me they had the same issues. Very unacceptable. Overall, the hotel complex is looking a little run down and tired. Nothing that a general sprucing up, some elbow grease and a general cleaning of the pool decks, walkways between the buildings and stairwells couldn’t remedy. My room was clean, but everything looked dated. The mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable. Having a kitchen in the room was very useful. My hope is the latest owners and management will make the necessary changes and improvements to their physical property and their amenity services. The hotel has huge potential given its positive attributes and location. I wish them the best of luck.…
What an amazing and relaxing place! Breakfast included. Three pools to choose from and more than one hot tub. Quiet place under the Palms. Friendly staff and friendly guests make the whole trip! This is a Tropical Paradise getaway that everyone should experience and enjoy. It's adults only which is great for relaxation. I can't say enough great things about this place but I certainly hope to return there soon!
The rooms? Basic, but clean and comfortable. How much time do you actually spend in your room anyway? Especially when the pool, guests, and staff are so great. The grounds? Beautifully manicured and green. The pools? Clean and bright. The staff? Ray is the super kind and helpful. Minus one grumpy man the rest of the staff is attentive and great! Now for the mushy part. I have tried to start this review over and over again. I can't quite put into words the magic that this place creates. This was my first solo trip and I was nervous to say the least. The staff greeted me warmly and I immediately was made to feel comfortable. There is a feeling of community among the other guests. You are welcome to roam from one property to the other, bouncing from pool to pool. I quickly made connections with the other guests and I can confidently say that I made life-long friends. We would spend the day in the pool, visiting, and drinking, then take our little group of travelers out on the town. The guests range in age, body type, and ethnicity making it feel like a true community. This place will even bring the shyest out of their shell. I had many *wink* connections with fellow guests and it just made my visit even better. If there is any doubt in booking here, please allow this review push you over to booking. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Worthington, I am not exaggerating when I say this place changed my life.…
This is 3 conjoined older properties that have been nicely renovated. The clientele is men only, and pool areas are clothing optional. Rooms are very comfortable with nice amenities. Parking is barely adequate, however.
Stayed 3rd to 8th June. LGBT+ Safe Space with spacious rooms, the property was enclosed and very private. Staff were warm, welcoming and very friendly. Location to main beaches and stores is great - litterly a few minutes drive away from main ones. 3 pools and 2 Hot tubs in the resort. Pool side areas were clean, well equipt with chairs and tables, very green and well kept with pleny of lizards roaming around to look at. Parking was plentiful - permit given on arrival where spaces are free. A good amount of information on the local LGBT+ places to visit provided. Rooms did feel dated, could use some modernisation (especialy in the bathrooms - as the windows looks like they were falling apart and in dire need of a thorough clean in the tracks as these were full of dirt and cigarette ash) Air con unit very noisy and conducive to a good nights sleep.…
i Stayed there for 4 nights. Stuff is very nice and helpful. I arrived around noon and my room was ready, it was great after 24 hours on the roads. I stayed at the Venice building and the atmosphere there was very calm, easy going and not judgmental. Breakfast is basic but good enough to start the day with. Parking was free and right next to the entrance. I will be back for my next visit in Fort Lauderdale
Drove from Marco Island for a quick vacation in a vacation! Price was good for weekdays! I hear weekends are expensive though. Gary, Rick are great hosts, so is everyone there. It was great being back again.
We have just returned from the Worthington , following a weeks stay.We have been visiting this resort for the past 10 + years, and hope we can add many more trips in the future. This resort continues its long heritage of comfortable, clean accommodations, superb staff, and a great clientele. Make this your South Florida base for your time in the sun, you will not be disappointed.
