We stayed here at the end of a family vacation that started in Palm Beach and went to The Keys. We were flying out of Fort Lauderdale and wanted a nearby hotel that was also on the beach to end our vacation so we booked a room here. WOW! We ended it our trip on a high note with this hotel. Our entire stay was great. When we arrived I liked that the property had a security guard at the entrance area. It's in a nice area of beach, but this was just a nice addition. Checking in was easy with friendly staff. They gave us a Covid packet specific to their hotel with all kinds of information in it to help our comfort level with what's going on in nearby Miami. Our temperature was taken upon arrival. We also got a small folder with information in it and were told clearly (they marked it on small map) what was open and closed due to Covid. (things were mostly all open) I liked that there was hand sanitizer stands everywhere and masks were mandatory when wandering the hotel. The room itself was spotless and obvious care taken to thoroughly clean and prep it for us down to the plastic wrapped remote controls. It was really nice with what looked to be new carpet, plush bedding, and an incredible view. We needed to use the pull out couch as well as the beds and were happy that the mattress on it was thick and comfy with clean linens ready for use. The room was spacious and the view was of the pool, lush grounds, and the ocean- what more could you want?! The whole property is gorgeous with marble floors and beautiful mosaic tiles of fish in the lobby. The grounds seems meticulously kept with people working on them pretty much all day. There are two nice pools and a ton of things to do including hammocks, outdoor chess, game tables, tennis and basketball courts etc... The beach area is for guests only and stocked with all of the necessary amenities like free lounge chairs and matching little table etc... We ate dinner at the (forgot name) restaurant there which had a slightly lessened menu but the choices were good. We LOVED the Soda Shop for breakfast-portions were generous and yummy. Everyone was kind and helpful there. There was a fitness center there but I made a point to skip that during vacation. haha I wish I'd gone into the boutique there sooner. I went in right before we left and ran out of time. Cute stuff! (oh and i did have to call the front desk for an extra blanket. It came very quickly. Thanks!) We traveled with a family of four and we all agreed we wanted to come back for a longer stay!

We've stayed here four times in the last five years (well, actually five as we had two separate stays during one touring holiday) but I don't think I ever got around to reviewing it. Suffice to say this is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. It's not cheap, but then you expect to pay for quality. The rooms are lovely, there is a large lounge with a balcony overlooking the pool area, a kitchenette and a bedroom with two double beds and an en suite. The beds are extremely comfortable, my wife is pretty fussy about beds because of a back problem and she gave it top marks. The coffee pod machine in the room makes really good coffee. As for the location, the hotel is close to both the airport and the cruise port, making it an ideal place to stay the night before boarding a cruise ship. They also have two really good restaurants, the one in the pool area is a cheaper option than the indoor restaurant. Plus a lovely beach too. Highly recommended.

This is our third year traveling to Lago Mar and every trip has exceeded our previous expectations.The resort is so family friendly and welcoming. Between the pools, playground, mini golf and human sized chest board; the resort is a families paradise. The resort even brought a crib and high chair to our room. The breakfast buffet is such a great deal and delicious. We used the on-site family photographer and he provided us with such beautiful, lasting memories. We hope to continue this family tradition of visiting Lago Mar. My only tip for improvement is the resort needs to provide more towel drop bins around the pool area to prevent people from leaving their dirty towels on chairs.
