Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Pelican Grand Beach Resort is lauded by guests for its immaculate common areas and oceanfront allure, complemented by a serene atmosphere with live music. While the resort's location and amenities like the lazy river are popular among families, some visitors suggest updates are needed. Despite the praise for spacious rooms and outstanding staff, particularly the pool and beach attendants, the value proposition is diminished by high costs and noise concerns. Additionally, mixed feedback on housekeeping and room maintenance indicates some areas that could be enhanced.

Amazing service, great food, ridiculously good views! Our server Zsolt was on top of his game. He made us feel like we are at home. Shrimp and scallops was the best I have ever tried. Chocolate bread pudding was very well balanced. We will be back soon!

Hotel's Favorite
This was an extraordinary experience that i didn't get to have for myself! I sent my mom and aunt here a few days before I met them for a cruise...they were beside themselves and said that they've never had such a beatiful room, exceptionally friendly room attendant and staff, food that was worth only eating at the hotel and not going elsewhere, and beachside relaxation with a view to die for. Can't say enough for how pleased they were and if I could swing the expense for Feb 2024, i'd do it for them again! (a bit pricey for me, called for lots of savings, but if you can definitely do it!!)

Response from TJ Pierri, General Manager at Pelican Grand Beach Resort
Responded Feb 27, 2023
Dear Scott W, While I was so happy your mom and aunt had such an incredible visit, I am disappointed we did not get to see you here for a visit! The Pelican Grand Beach Resort is a special place for family and friends to meet up, reconnect, and above all...relax! Hoping you will be able to join us soon as well! Kind Regards, TJ Pierri General Manager

The hotel is very nice but I would expect better for a 4 star hotel. The lobby is beautiful and staff is efficient but I thought the room itself would be a little nicer for the price. When you arrive they don’t seem to have very many spots near the hotel to park but a few metered spots in front of the hotel so you are dependent on using the valet service for $48 a day but they send you a link so you can request your car when you are ready to leave the resort. After arriving I decided to tour around the resort to see their offerings. They have rocking chairs on the back deck facing the ocean but not many (about 6) and they were all taken. I walked to the pool area and was asked by an employee if I wanted them to prepare some chairs and asked for my room number so not sure if they charge to use them or wanted to make sure I was a guest. They have a lounge but it has maybe 6-7 high top tables and a bar but looks very small inside. The other restaurant on the premises was a fancier restaurant which I felt didn’t offer a lot of choices and the least expensive entree was about $30 but I found out they add a 22% gratuity to your food bill and that is not the servers tip that goes to the hotel so it can be expensive to eat on the premises so we went elsewhere to have our meals so cannot rate the food at the resort. They advertise an ice cream emporium but when walking through it is more of a gift shop with a small area dedicated to ice cream (not a huge selection) so decided not to try it nor did I check prices. The resort is nice but I guess I was expecting more of a 4 star hotel.

We come down to the Grand Pelican Beach Resort few times a year & love it. The accommodations are spacious, especially if you get a suite. We love the old world feel and the fact it is right on the sand. The staff is helpful & profesional & we are looking forward to going back next month

This hotel is my favorite in Fort Lauderdale and what makes it so is the staff. They are all friendly, professional & helpful. Especially the following people: Valet, Damion, Peter,Mark, & Enrique Front Desk: Jackie, Adrian & Sash Reservations: Annette Concierge: Brian Beach: Johnny Maintenance: Kyle & Earl This hotel has an old world charm with rocking chairs on the veranda overlooking the beach. The rooms are spacious, especially the suites that have a bedroom & living room. For the children that never grew up, there is the lazy river which is so much fun. We love it so much we keep coming back.

No hot water in shower for 2 of 10 nights. Lazy river not functioning for 2 1/2 days. Beds saggy, sofa stained and old. The person in charge of new booking has still not gotten back to me after 5 days.Naturally we will never return despite the lovely staff!

This is a great place providing great customer service experiences. The rooms are well appointed. The Ocean 2000 Restaurant serves good food and has an attentive waiter staff. Enjoyed just sitting around in rocking chairs watching the ocean! Will stay again!

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort, and my experience was quite average. The resort's location is undoubtedly stunning, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. The lobby and common areas are well-maintained and exude a sense of luxury. However, upon entering my room, I noticed that it lacked the same level of refinement. The balcony has low grade furnishings, and the comfort of the balcony made it unenjoyable to spend time there. The service was acceptable but didn't go above and beyond. The staff was polite, but I didn't feel the warmth and genuine hospitality that I've experienced at other resorts. Additionally, the response time to some of my requests was a bit slow. Dining options were satisfactory, with a decent variety of choices. The quality of the food was great at Ocean 2000. One notable positive was the beach access. The resort has a private beach area, and the amenities provided there were enjoyable. However, I would have appreciated more attentive service on the beach. In summary, my stay at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort was average. While the location and overall ambiance were pleasing, there is room for improvement in terms of room quality, service, and culinary offerings to elevate the guest experience.

Arrived in Ft Lauderdale and has planned to stay one night near the airport but was referred by a business aqaintance and so on a whim decided to At least check out the resort. To our surprise we were blown way! The beach is beautiful! The resort is great ! We immediately knew we wanted to stay! We didn’t have a reservation, but Adian at the front desk took care of us and made sure to give us a great first time experience! We will definitely return in the near future!
