Wish I had stayed at my original choice, Hilton Beach Resort. Here we go: 1) upon check in told they don't have the room (I reserved months in ADVANCE -thru Marriot BTW) available so giving you another. I ask does have inter coastal view and fridge? Yes ok, no explanation, no apology-nothing. 2) Room dated and has seen better days, headboard filthy, furniture banged up, oh and this “other” room I was rudely assigned was smaller than my original reserved room 3) the breakfast was nothing special, at all. Now the WORST part-our last night we were going to take the evening water taxi 1 last time and enjoy the nighttime cruise BUT- 4) around 6:30ish pm, an alarm and recorded voice came on warning us to evacuate the hotel, DO NOT use the elevator, exit by via the stairwell. Fresh from the shower I throw on some shorts and a t-shirt. So we schlep down the stairs, from the 8th floor, out to the front of the place. People standing around, no one from the hotel any where. This goes on for 15 minutes, still nobody and no fire engines, no police-zero, nada, nothing. We go back into the lobby to find out what is going on-people mulling around, front desk clerk just sitting there like noting is going on (same dude who reassigned me anther room). A woman goes up to this guy and says, “what is going on, what’s the problem?” She is told “their people” checked it out and there is no problem. Waiting for fire fighters to come and turn off the alarm and warning. Yes it was still going off and the warning still blaring. We go into the bar-full of patrons-and ask the bartender, does she know anything, as she works here. Nope she was told nothing and is overwhelmed. We go out to the little patio and figure great our last night is ruined, no cruise, no dinner. The sweet bartender comes out and asks if we’d like a drink, sure. She brings out our drinks and we chat. She was the only highlight of this place. Didn’t get her name but she’s from Maine. Thank you darling-you were wonderful! Suddenly she says, ‘WAIT I DON’T HEAR IT ANY MORE.” And just like that it’s over. Not 1 person from the hotel acknowledged the incident OR communicated that it’s okay to go back to our rooms-again ZERO. So we take the elevator back up to our room. I assumed it was ok. So it’s around 7:45 ish, since our dinner reservations were ruined we take our last night’s left over to microwave them to eat. Guess what? Yep microwave doesn’t work. Go down to the bar/breakfast are to use that micro. Same sweet bartender asks if she can help us, as the breakfast area was closed off. She kindly warmed up the left overs. I thought for sure they’d make phone calls or check on guests and explain! NOPE, again a big fat. ZERO, nada, nothing, no communication. So recap-rudely assigned different room than reserved thru Marriot website-with no explanation, room very worn, micro not in working condition, and an emergency (I assume, because no one EVER explained what happened) that completely screwed up our last night of vacation. Upon checking out the next day-clerk asks how was our stay? I let her know that the micro doesn’t work and wondered what the emergency was last night? She says oh. That’s it “OH.”I hope the management sees this and upgrades their customer service because IT NEEDS IT. Don’t stay here.…
A fortifying brand experience, my recent stay at the Residence Inn Intercoastal solidified the Marriott Bonvoy network as a premier, robust collection of diverse accommodations of the highest quality and service. This was a staycation escape from the mundane busy work week and not having to worry about a single thing made it a very pleasurable visit. The hotel it self was a delight, the neighborhood easily walkable and ready with delicious dining. I enjoyed the view in the morning especially. My checkin with Mark was very friendly and professional. The floral arrangements in the lobby added to the inviting atmosphere. There was art on the walls that gave the property a feeling of prestige that suggests the place is well-maintained and that I should not have a care in the world under their hospitality. My stay lived up to these delightful imputations.…
Enjoyed our getaway to this lovely facility on the intracoastal. Spacious clean rooms with double balcony. Pleasant breakfast area and friendly staff and tables available on the patio. Breakfast could use some fresh cut fruit, whole wheat bread/bagel options. Adjacent to water taxi stop 10 for exploring Fort Lauderdale and 5 minute walk to. beach.
This is a very nice hotel on the intercoastal.Unfortunately the swimming pool is so freezing cold, you can't use it.Hopefully they can heat the pool!!! We love our balcony with the view of the intercoastal. Also, we are able to walk to a beautiful beach. Would love to stay here again if they could heat the pool, since right now, it is too freezing to swim in.
The event staff and all staff in general are amazing to deal with. Get a corporate environment with a local friendly experience. We host many classes, events and have never been so welcomed. Response time is amazing before and during your event! Thank you from the LAAIA
Excellent reviews lead to high expectations. A very good hotel but not not quite up to expectations. We had a one bedroom unit with a huge balcony and a partial ocean view. The eastern exposure provided a flood of sunlight in the morning wheras the opposite side on the intercoastal has afternoon and evening sun, Very clean throughout, although chips on the ceramic floor and a sagging sofa were keeping it from looking crisp. Beach is a short walk away and a water taxi stop very close. The pool is small and gets no sun at any time of day. My wife enjoyed what she says was the best Bloody Mary ever at the on- site restaurant, Oria. It has very good but limited menu items. However, there are several restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was Residence Inn fare with very limited variety. Smiles from the staff at the front desk were scarce.…
Such a wonderful experience! The property is lovely but it’s really the staff that made our stay so wonderful. Ryan the manager and my girl Emma at the bar we’re so kind and helpful. Made us feel right at home:) Our room was perfect for our family with young kids. The pool is shaded which we LOVED because we’re just pale people from the Midwest. It was nice to not have to cover my kids in sunblock the whole time. The valet was amazing and took the time to answer questions about the local beach conditions. Highly recommend this place for families and wonderfully kind and helpful staff.
1 bedroom suite was spacious with a huge balcony overlooking the canal. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Close to restaurants and the water taxi. A few blocks off the beach but that worked out great for us. Pulling up to the hotel can be a challenge if its busy. The entrance way is one lane and gets very congested. As far as checking in, the gentleman behind the front desk definitely needs some training on Multi tasking and seemed more preoccupied with everything but checking in customers. Breakfast was a plus and a little variety each day.
We've stayed here every year when visiting family in the area, and it's always a great pick. The room are absurdly large, with lovely balcony views (especially if you're on the intracoastal side). You'll have a nice-sized kitchen and even a washer and dryer. (They sell laundry detergent for about $2/load at the front desk.) A few other great things: -You have to tap your hotel key to go up in the elevator, so the hotel feels really secure. -The pool deck gets nice and sunny in the afternoons (though based on the location of the pool, the pool itself is pretty much in the shade all day). -You're about a 7-10 minute walk from the beach, and the Residence Inn has beach towels and chairs to borrow (for free) if you need it. It's not the cheapest hotel in the area, and it's not a luxury hotel in terms of amenities, but the space + privacy make it a great option. Highly recommend!…
This property has a lovely entrance but the rooms are tired not very clean, poor breakfast and to charge $25 for valet parking when there is no alternative is not acceptable for elite members We moved after one cold night poor AC
