This is a very reasonably priced hotel located just off the beach in a nice friendly area. The hotel is extremely well maintained and perfect for families and singles as it is just a block or two off the beach, close to State parks, Las Olas Blvd restaurants, and more. I liked that it was only a two level hotel so it wasn't like you're stuck in a high rise peering down. Staff and owner were great.

So spent 2 weeks in Fort Lauderdale at the Summerland Suites 18 May to 1 June 2022. This is the 4th time I have stayed at this 3 hotel complex which also includes Napoli Belmar Resort stayed there twice and Birch Patio Motel. As usually arrived late in the evening an was greeted by Angela who has been there all of the times I went to to great facility and always greeted with a smile and welcoming. So this complex is great, its quiet away from the noise of the main beach but only a 3 block walk to the beach. Its clean, have never had any issues while staying there. You have 3 pools that can be used to find the best area to suntan, The cleaning staff are also great and very friendly. An the price is great for a full suite with a good size living with a flat screen TV, kitchen with full size fridge, stove and microwave with a coffee maker and toaster and all the items need to make meals and keep cost under control. Also a bedroom with a big comfortable bed and TV. The walls are brick so they don't hear you and you don't hear the other people next door. Don't usually do reviews of places I like because it will get to busy and when I go to book it will be full but they deserve all the business the can get after Covid. I will be back next year again so save me a suite.

This family owned resort is extra special with a location just a few short blocks from the magistic Atlantic Ocean. The location is beyond perfect in a quite and safe enviroment yet close enough to enjoy all that Ft Lauderdale Beach area has to offer with Restaurants, Sports bars and shopping. Your vaction starts at the check in with the owner and only gets better with the Summerland Suites beautiful large living room and extra large bedroom with a King size bed and yes a small kitchen as well. As you unpack the resort takes over, a pool just steps away to enjoy the sun and water or a short walk to the Atlantic. When I travel to Ft Lauderdale I always stay at Summerland and always treated as part of there family as only a family owned resort can offer

Outstanding price/quality. It is very clean, rooms are lowkey but you have everything you need. Check the foodtruck down the corner. The hostess helped us with finding and reservate cool trips! Thanks.

Stayed there from March 24th until March 29th, 2018. Great one bedroom suites clean with fully equipped kitchen. Close to beach, everything within walking distance. Quiet, clean pool with sun all day. Was windy some days when we were there but never at pool. Staff in office are awesome and very helpful whether it be printing boarding passes, ordering taxi's etc. Having full kitchen allowed us to buy groceries, cook breakfast and keep cold drinks. Highly recommend!!

Summerland Suites and the connected properties offer the combination of location, convenience, cleanliness and value that make it just right. It’s two short blocks to the beach with plenty of parking. I actually prefer it to the hotels on a1a at any price. The owners are always accommodating and have plenty of tips on dining and area activities. We’ve been visiting for 10 years and will continue. Thank you Angela !!

In Fort Lauderdale, if you want to stay close to the boardwalk and water taxi area, it's either pricey high rises or older mom and pop condos. Summerland Suites is a perfect example of a convenient place to stay, fix some of your own food, do laundry (clotheslines and clothespins available, walk to the beach and simply walk for blocks and blocks--maybe even miles and miles. Furnishings are definitely older, as are appliances, but everything is perfectly clean and adequate at half the cost of a hotel room and without resort fees. Just put your expectations back to the 1960's and enjoy the stay.

I wanted a good-sized suite/apartment, in a good location, with outside space that was ideal for a long stay holiday in Fort Lauderdale at a price that wasn't going to break the bank. Summerland was the perfect solution to my search and I stayed there for just over 80 nights. The suite I stayed at was on the first floor, in the building that faced Orton Avenue and the intercoastal waterway. I loved the kitchen area, which was surprisingly big and equipped with everything you need on a short or indeed a long stay holiday. Everything was clean and whilst it wasn't brand new it all worked. Nice big round table for four provided a fine place to eat a long leisurely breakfast or lunch. The room has a had two big beds, comfy easy chairs and another table, plus a great big credenza that hid the massive TV. I can't fault the room itself, it was nice and clean, comfortable and had all I needed. There was also a lovely big closet that had plenty of space - even for everything I bought during my long-stay. Housekeeping was perfect, even during the long-stay, attentive and friendly and I couldn't find a single fault with the service or standards. The fact that Summerland is partnered with owned by the same people as the three other buildings in this area means there are plenty of outside spaces in which to relax and enjoy the weather. Plenty of seating areas, barbeque area, pool and greenery. If you want to be social you can mingle with other guests in some areas, equally, there are other areas where you can enjoy peace and quiet on your own. There is a coin-operated laundry area here as well which is super handy for a longer stay here and is reasonable. They also have a number of inflatable and beach toys you can borrow and use on the beach, which is about a 5-minute walk from the front of this small complex. You are perfectly situated in the central beach area, which is peaceful and easy going, yet just a short stroll away from Fort Lauderdale's main beach areas. If you don't want to drive during your break, I recommend getting a bicycle to get around, you can hire them close to the Galleria shopping mall - which is within easy walking distance. However, if you plan on using the bike for more than a week, it would be cheaper to buy one for your own use - I got one from one of the local stores for $80. Cycling around Fort Lauderdale is easy - it's nice and flat and rather pleasant. Plenty of cycle lanes that make it easy to get around and virtually hassle-free. I really enjoyed my stay here and couldn't have wanted better for such a long stay, the prices were also very reasonable and represented great value for money.

I really wanted to LOVE this hotel. It is family run & had such good reviews, especially about the folks running it. PROS: VERY convenient location for the sights we wanted to see. A 2 min walk to a beautiful beach. Beds very comfy. The pool was nice and warm, just as I like it. Great restaurants within walking distance. The manager graciously gave us a complimentary late check out. CONS: No HOT water for all 5 days and nights! Since we were in an end unit, we thought maybe if we let it run for a few minutes, but no difference. Called the desk & were basically told that the faucet handle had been installed incorrectly ( i.e. the reverse of "normal") and that we just had to fiddle with it. Nothing we did worked. The managers mother actually said to me " You know, you're on vacation, you should just relax a bit and not worry so much". I asked the maid if the unit next to us had hot water & before she even knew why I was asking, said " Oh, the water is not so hot here, its the same in the whole building". The handyman even came in, ran the water & after about 8 mins, it maybe got tepid. VERY upsetting. The manager eventually told us that there was some kind of rule about not setting the temp too high to avoid anyone being scalded. I didn't buy it. Not having a hot shower for 5 days really stank. ( and maybe so did I!) Another problem was that WiFi was advertised but only worked in 1 small corner of the bedroom. ( and remember, this place had a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and the bedroom) We literally had to stand there in the corner of the bedroom to have it connect. We asked about it a few times, was told it had been rebooted but it never improved for us. The air conditioner in the living was so loud, we had to crank the TV up to a very high level which I'm sure annoyed our next door neighbors. It made it also very unpleasant to listen to it when it was so loud.
