Travelers' Choice
The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale infuses the Gold Coast with casual luxury as Fort Lauderdale, Florida's first AAA Five Diamond hotel. The 24-story, dramatically tiered and glass walled beachfront hotel facing the Intracoastal Waterway has sweeping curves that are reminiscent of a luxury liner. Design elements of this beach resort in Fort Lauderdale recall the 1940's, with artwork that includes playful murals inspired by French artist Jean Cocteau and a 13-foot high mural of a seascape inspired by the 1880 painting, "King Neptune and His Horses." The property features 192 guest rooms and suites; a 2,200 square foot Club Lounge, 24,000 square feet of light-filled meeting space; a 29,000 square foot oceanfront sundeck with an infinity pool and private cabanas; destination Spa with an organic and active-botanical treatment menu and a water-view fitness center.

This beach day was great. The water was perfect the beach was clean and spacious but the best part of all was Ruben our beach attendant. His customer service was amazing and he went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Yayy Ruben ❤️

We recently stayed at The Ritz Carlton, Fort Lauderdale again, and had a wonderful time as we always had. We also wanted to specifically thank Paul (reception) and all staff from the club level, intern Isabelle, Florence, Carlton James and the lady who was there in the morning (sorry we forgot your name) All staff were incredibly nice and helpful, unfortunately, we cannot name them all. We would highly recommend spending time at the beach. There you will meet two awesome guys. Ruben and Christian will do anything possible to make your time great. Every morning our cabana was set up so nicely when we arrived. During the day they checked on us whether we needed something. Ruben with the help of the pool staff had a little surprise ready for my upcoming special birthday. Thank you so much for it. We are looking forward to coming back.

Booked this hotel for a mother/daughter overnight weeks ago. Arrived to find that the hotel pool was under renovation. Was told that if I’d had an email on file, I would have been notified ahead of time, which was inaccurate as I had received confirmation, billing and receipts via my email weeks prior. All still could have been salvageable had their compensation for such an oversight been more appropriate than what was offered — a lowered resort fee from $48 to $38. Add this to the fact that the renovation began at 8am the next morning. I found this extremely unprofessional and will not return. Ever.

I had an excellent stay at the Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale. My room was gorgeous, and I liked the easy access to the beach. The hotel's front desk staff, concierge staff, valet staff, and restaurant staff were all pleasant to work with and anticipated my needs/requests. Housekeeping did a thorough job of cleaning my room, and the hotel offered a turndown service each evening. The breakfast at Burlock Coast was delicious. I will definitely recommend this hotel to other people who are coming to Fort Lauderdale, and I will certainly stay at this hotel whenever I return to the Fort Lauderdale area.

Fantastic property and staff. Lobby and restaurants are excellent and of course the staff is very kind and helpful. A lot to do on the strip and right off the beach. Highly recommended and of course a 5 star hotel. I’ll definitely be back. Can’t wait.

The location is convenient and he room was very comfortable. The room had great view of the Intracoastal Channel but the noise from the air handlers spoils the view. The restaurant seems to be understaffed in the morning and we were asked to wait 45 minutes to get a table when the restaurant was only 50% occupied. The Burlock menu is acceptable but lacks creativity. It is a rustic restaurant with no tablecloth and uncomfortable chairs. The floor gets slippery because of the condensation when the doors to the terrace are opened. Valet parking is very good but expensive at $50 per night and there is no self parking. The pool needs to be refinished... We could not find a pretty spot in the Hotel to get a picture.

There are three stellar things associated with the RC-Ft Lauderdale: 1) the location is ideal, mere steps away from the beach. 2) Ruben, our beach attendant always takes excellent care of us with chairs, towels, an umbrella, water, and checking on us throughout our beach days. He even remembers our favorite spot from our previous visits 3) Dan at the Burlock Coast provides outstanding service every visit, and the food is consistently delicious. We try and book the “Bed & Breakfast” package for our stays. Sadly, there has been a bit turnover with the staff in Reception, and we very much miss seeing Ebony and her smiling face. She always made us feel truly welcomed and appreciated. The pool area is looking quite sad. Any time we commented on it’s current state to a staff member, their excuse was that the pool was going to be renovated. We heard the same tune back in May 2022. That’s still not a good excuse to not keep it up to what should be RC standards in the meanwhile. If I’m going to buy a new car in a year, I still continue to keep my current car well-maintained and clean. With Ruben at the beach, who needs the pool anyway?

Im here on my last of just two nights I booked here as I had a business trip which included bringing my family, so needless to say was looking for it to be somewhat normal for a 5 star hotel, paying extra for some level of convenience, to ease the pressure. Checked in, charged 1k in incidentals, no problem. Should be high end Im writing this now wondering how in the world is this place considered 5 star or even called a Ritz Carlton. I’ve been to 3 star hotels around the world better. And as far as all the hotels I’ve been to I might have to mark this one down as the worst experience (for the money). I clarify not worst. But worst above $400/ night The very few staff (as it’s a small property, which is nice) here is very nice, Chris at the restaurant is amazing. They gave my kid some plush toys that was nice; Ritz treat kids really well which These two points warrant the two stars. Unfortunately, that’s as far as it goes The room is very dirty. My nose burns nonstop, so I haven’t slept at all, this usually happens for me more so with dust, than dry air or humidity, my 2 year old who walked on the carpet proved that, her onesie foot bottom gets black after just a little walking around (I’ll add a picture). Very clear that the carpets haven’t been deep cleaned in a long time. How they can charge 400 per night (after tax) up to 500 I’ve seen is beyond me. I was booked into room 907, that room was dirty. And the Ac acted strange last night. Today-tonight the ac stopped working all together. Switched rooms to 903, the air in this new room still feels dirty, I definitely don’t feel comfortable, and can’t sleep, they gave me 150 hotel credit which I won’t use anyway as I’m leaving in the morning and I had Amex FHR anyway, so I told her it’s fine but I think she’ds erasing some extra stuff in my bill which may have gone over FHR hotel credit by a little Lastly, the beds are good if you like REALLY FIRM mattresses. Unfortunately, I happen to not like a very hard mattress in a 5 star hotel Lastly again Chris was great in the restaurant but menu options for vegetarians super limited. However in light of that they did take good care of us regardless. I just really wish Amex didn’t list here as FHR, and wish Marriott or whoever owns the ritz nowadays would change the name and price range of this property to better fit what you’re getting. Wish I remembered about the new four seasons down the road as it would have suited me and my family on this business/ family trip which has been stressful to stay at a newer property. (Id hope at least). As This is my end bad experience on Fort Lauderdale beach so who knows. But with a nice staff like we got Here, I think just a functional building and rooms would work great. So If I gotta revisit in the future, no way it will be here again.

I want to start by saying that the staff, from the housekeeping staff to the front desk folks to the concierge and people at the restaurant were amazing. They really were the only thing that made this feel like a Ritz. The hotel itself was lacking and showing its age. First, our AC would not kick on, which can be an issue in South Florida during the summer. We called down to the desk, who promptly sent someone up and was able to get the AC on. However, that didn't last long and when we tried to turn the thermostat down the next day: no dice. The room itself was OK, though the bathroom was weird as the shower was in the bathtub and there was only a half glass "door", which allowed a lot of water to spray out whenever you turned the shower on. The beach was ok, and again the staff was great. But it's a public beach so you cannot order food or drink to your chairs. This isn't the hotel's fault but just know what you're getting with your $48/day resort fee. They set you up with chairs, an umbrella and bottled water. The gym was nice and solid. A+ there. Room service was great service though the menu was limited to the restaurant's menu, less certain items. The pool area was small and very dated. They do set up chairs, umbrellas and towels for you, and they provide drink/ food service. The chairs are pretty tightly packed in. MY biggest qualm is the price/ value proposition. We paid cash for our rooms, booking through Amex FHR. I am also a Marriott Titanium. We were not upgraded on either account, which is fine. Just letting you know that with a property this small there are going to be limited upgrades. But for the price of the hotel, you'd almost be better off paying more for the Four Seasons or just driving down to Bal Harbor/Miami Beach for better hotels. I'll also add that the valet charge was $50/night plus $48/ day for the activity fee. So that's $98/ day you're paying on top of the room charge for a real "meh" hotel.
