Arrived early at the Ritz Carlton in Ft. Lauderdale and relaxed by the pool until our room was ready. Minke at the front desk upgraded us to an oceanfront room which was larger and allowed us to spread out and enjoy the beautiful view. Steven the bellman was incredibly friendly and helped with our bags, and Monica at the pool was very attentive. It was a great experience and I am looking forward to our return back in the near future.
Stayed one night before taking a cruise. Arrived around 11:30am and was welcomed with open arms. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We ate lunch at the onsite Burlock Coast. Had a lovely chicken dish with the ocean right across the street. After lunch our room was ready and they had upgraded us to an ocean front, one bedroom suite which came in very handy since I use a scooter to get around. The main bathroom had a perfect roll in shower. The bed was also low which never happens these days. The hotel is fantastic in every way, the staff, location (3 miles to FLL port), food, services etc. We will be back. Thank you.
I’ll start out by sharing what’s good about this old tired property. The staff and the service. From the time we arrived, the staff have been great. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping have been wonderful. Now I’ll share why you should not waste your money on this old, tired, decrepit hotel. First, we booked this hotel based on the images we saw on the website. That was complete false advertising. Shame on us for being enticed by fake imagery. We thought we were getting a suite when in actuality it was photos from their club level lounge. After our initial dismay, we accepted it and decided to make the best of it. Well, I’m a details person and the things we’ve experienced have been subpar at best — and add insult to injury with the price of this place! When you’re paying as much as we did, I expect value for value. Here’s a list of what’s terrible about this property. 1) cracked bathroom window 2) cracked shower tiles 3) no make-up mirror 4) thin, hard towels 5) no water glasses in the bathroom 6) no dining table in the room 7) no screen on the patio doors; birds promptly flew into our room 8) dirty patio with cigarette butts in the scant planters 9) two small, dirty chairs on the patio 10) old painted chipped, thin cushioned chaise pool chairs 11) damaged pool that needs resurfacing 12) screeching speaker at the pool 13) dirty window in the Club Level Lounge 14) old, worn, dirty astroturf around the pool 15) bug cocoons all over the walls outside our room Do not waste your money.…
This place is amazing-not only for the first class accommodations, but for the amazing staff! I can’t thank you all enough for making my vacation amazing! Rubin and the outside beach staff ROCK!! I can’t remember the last time I had such great service with great people- also the grounds are beautiful !
We stayed at the Ritz in Ft Lauderdale. Our most favorite part of each day was being greeted at the beach by Reuben who works for the Ritz in Ft Lauderdale. Reuben was very attentive, kind, always had a smile on his face and truly couldn’t do enough for us. We wish we could give him ten stars! Thank you Reuben for the service you provided to us at the beach! You went above and beyond! If you’re staying in the area around the Ritz see Reuben for your beach rentals he’s amazing.
Admittedly, I am a hotel snob. I've stayed in some of the most fantastic places in the country thanks to a job that requires me to select excellent experiences for clients and employees. When I travel with my family, I've come to realize that my need for excellence often translates to greater cost and so when we do travel we seek the best experiences. The Ritz-Carlton brand to me has always exemplified excellence, much like Ralph Lauren and other well known quality brands. What a disappointment to stay at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale last week to be met with a room that had fraying carpets, dirty floors, paint chips and smears, sparse furnishings and most importantly, substandard service. There were a few stand-out employees like Ryan at the pool but he was far more the exception than the rule. The housekeeping staff did an incomplete job, the front desk employees and the concierge were not friendly. Room service had two items on their dinner entree menu and required three trips to get our order correct. It will most assuredly change my perception of the Ritz-Carlton brand and make me very leery to book there in the future.…
We were very anxious about our stay after reading some unpleasant reviews. The resort is very dated and in desperate need of renovations, but seems generally on par with most luxury resorts in the Fort Lauderdale area. However the room was clean and spacious and the survey was excellent. From the pool staff to the front desk, the staff were all exceptionally helpful. The restaurant was truly above and beyond - we had three exceptional experiences, all with different staff. They were especially gracious with our 1-year old son (even bringing him his own bowl of blueberries on the last night!) I wish the resort were nicer, but we'll come back for the staff
Arrived 2/25/22 for our 26th year wedding anniversary after settling in we were not able to connect the Bluetooth radio in the room engineering and maintenance came to the room and 1 1/2 hour later they got it to work. 2/26/22 after waiting 30 minutes at Burlock Coast to be acknowledged by a server, my wife and I were leaving however we were stopped by the hostess who remembered sitting us at our table and she insisted that we give her a chance to make it right. They got my drink wrong, the Chilean sea bass was not to standard. The morning of 2/27/22 I had to work the Saturday night, but when I got to the room to take a shower and brush my teeth the sink was clogged. Therefore, to avoid the same experience from the the restaurant we thought we would have room service deliver our breakfast and have it on the balcony. The tiles and grout was covered with what appeared to be black mold, the walls and glass door were covered in dirt. After sharing my sentiments on the automatic review sent from the GM’s office, on 03/02/22 the Director of loss prevention emailed me this statement and I quote. “I have shared your feedback with the Housekeeping and Restaurant leadership teams to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future. I hope you choose to stay with us again when your travels bring you back to the area.” And to that I say good luck to anyone who pays premium prices at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale and expect any form of adequate service. No, thank you we will stay at a different Ritz-Carlton next time. “We won’t be throwing good money after bad money”.…
Hotel when you walk in is beautiful. We were upgraded from junior suite to 2 bedroom which was nice. The inter coastal view overlooks the large fans for the building and quite noisy. Room was very nice and comfortable but balcony ran the whole length of suite and had 4 small chairs. Could have used much nicer deck furniture. Restaurant was average- service was slow at breakfast, lunch and late afternoon. Pool area was very accommodating with chairs and figuring out where to put chairs since most chairs are reserved by 7 am:( Overall nice place but expected more with the price.
Staying over Presidents’ Day weekend. Nice hotel, convenient location, accommodating service, dog friendly. Doesn’t feel as luxurious as a typical Ritz. Areas for improvement: ** Only 1 restaurant on property for breakfast, lunch, dinner (room service menu is also the same) so it gets very one note. And not nearly enough vegetarian options. I was offered hummus or a salad as my two options for lunch / dinner. It’s 2022. Get with the times. ** No food/beverage service on the beach. As a result the pool is over crowded and even on breezy days there’s a wait list for the pool. The pool cafe’s prices are also obscene. For ex: the salad at the restaurant? $17. The same salad at the pool cafe? $34. Why? ** No concierge or daily / weekly events calendar. Every Ritz we have ever stayed at always has great activities on property for kids and adults. This either had none or did a poor job or advertising.…
