I wouldn't kick a place while it was down, and we loyally visited throughout the pandemic, but now that's been over for some time, and the hotel seems reasonable full. Yet I'm still carrying my wet towels downstairs, dumping my own trash, hot breakfast is a distant memory, and the same piles of iguana poop pile up around the fountain unattended for half a week. Yet there's still a housekeeping tip envelop propped up by the bed. All in all, still a nice place and a good room but clearly understaffed, and with the sale to developers I'm not optimistic about improvement or even it's survival.

The resort was clean, and our room was spacious. The outdoors had a tropical vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful. For the best massage ever , see Robert in the on-site spa. He was truly AMAZING! I can't wait to go back!

I checked out of the Grand Penthouse room on Sunday 8/28/2022. I have stayed at this resort and also in this same room on prior trips. I cant say how awful of a trip I had and how my vacation was ruined. I paid $439.00 per night and had to walk to the front desk when I need towels or toiletries. I had put the sign out for housekeeping 2 different days and neither day was my room touched. Never seen them on the 3rd floor. I had to walk over to piles of iguana poop to enter the outdoor space everyday I was there. The hot tub for the penthouse had so much sediment on the bottom so I know it hadn't been cleaned prior to my arrival. Saturday 8/27 I killed over 20 ants in the master bedroom. There was a guy knocking on my patio door asking for money and food, found out when I complained that he wasn't even a guest there so the safety of the guests that obviously wasn't there. I'm very confused at what the cost I paid actually covered, because I'm thinking I could have stayed at any other resort a lot cheaper with more of a actual resort feel. i even contacted the resort with my complaints but never received a reply

Casey Koslowski sold The Grand Resort and Spa on May 27, 2022 to Lior Raviv and four partners for 10.5 million dollars. I am not sure what the future of the Grand Resort is. The new owner is a developer of condos and commercial spaces. My partner and I were regularly returning guests to The Grand Resort. We really liked it very much. However, our last stay was not as good as in the past. The staff was no longer very friendly and a very strict COVID policy was in place (far more strict than any other place I have ever stayed). The Club House, Fitness Center and Office were closed to guests. A service window as installed in the outside wall of the Club House. Most everything was done through that small service window -- checking in/out, getting a continental breakfast which consisted of some fresh fruit and prepackaged cereals, muffins and bagels and there was also yogurt. There was no longer a hot breakfast with eggs and sausage/bacon. When we requested a cleaning of our room during our 10-day stay, we were handed a package of sheets and a package of towels. We went from being guests to becoming our own housekeeping staff and we had to change our own towels and bed linens. If you wanted a pool towel, you had to go to the service window and request it. As far as I know, The Grand Resort has not restarted offering the hot breakfast and I believe you still must place a request with the staff to get your room cleaned. This place is very expensive and no longer worth the stay for us. Unless things change there, we will be looking at other options for our next Fort Lauderdale visit.

We've stayed here several times in the past, but this was the first visit in 3 years due to the pandemic. I wasn't sure what to expect based on some of the other reviews and changes that happened as a result of Covid. But by the time we arrived in April, many of the prior restrictions others have mentioned were gone. The Positives: - we stayed in a 1 bedroom courtyard suite, which has plenty of room for two people and a full size fridge for drinks/snacks - as some have mentioned, the mattresses seem new, as the bed was very comfortable - our room and the rest of the property were very clean. We requested to have our room cleaned once during a five night stay and housekeeping did a thorough job. - most of all, you can't beat the location, as it's 2 blocks to the ocean or a 10 min walk to Sebastian Beach Room for Improvement: - the elimination of the hot breakfast and the happy hour are a disappointment. Not sure at this point whether it's Covid-related, or more of a cost cutting measure? You get tired of only bagels for breakfast after a few days. - they have beach chairs available that you can take with you for a day and that is helpful. But the umbrellas they have aren't in great shape and could be replaced. - other than checking in and out, I did not find the staff as friendly as others have. I saw very few of them say hello or even smile when they passed you walking around. Overall, we still enjoy the Grand and will be back. For those complaining that it is expensive, you would pay twice as much to stay in one of the high rise hotels on Beach Blvd. I'm surprised they haven't been bought out by developers yet, so as long as they're still in business, I believe it's one of the better choices for the Fort Lauderdale Beach area.

I tried to like this place but I just couldn't get there. I felt that way five years earlier when we were here the first time, but my partner wanted me to give it another try so we came back again for 5 nights. I liked it even less this time and my partner finally understood why. The place is well kept and spotless, but there is a sterile iciness to it that did not exist at other gay resorts we had been to in Key West. The resort has no social happy hour and the staff--although very professional and available, lacks the warmth that engenders a feeling of welcome. You are on your own here and that's that. I scratch my head as to why the owners believe this is a resort. Its a gay men's motel with a pool and kitchen facilities in the rooms. "Breakfast" consists of prepackaged muffins and other assorted ready to eat carbs, some sugary yogurts and coffee. No eggs. We found it necessary to leave the premises to get something more fulfilling. Fortunately, there were several places around the corner that had great options. It's an odd place in that spontaneous conversation among guests is elusive unless YOU initiate it. Some might like that, and to be honest, at times I like it too, but it prevails here more than anywhere else I've ever been and it just added to the lack of interaction about the place. To each his own I guess. The one good thing l liked was the proximity to the beach. Two blocks from the front door. The Spa was not open for business when we were there and the property has recently been sold, so the next guest to check in may be the wrecking ball. The place seems to have a loyal clientele, but unfortunately, I won't be among them.

My husband I visited Fort Lauderdale in March, and although we did not stay at the resort, we did book a few spa sessions, which came with a day pass to the resort. The spa was fantastic! Both of us had a sugar scrub and a massage, and while I was there I also booked a back facial. Roberto was my therapist for both the scrub and the massage, and I cannot say enough good things about him. The scrub was like nothing I ever experienced before - so relaxing, so luxurious feeling, and so rejuvenating. The massage was also wonderful - a nice combination and muscle rubs and stretches. I would do both again when I come back for a visit, and I would definitely request Roberto because he was so amazing. Not only were both treatments enjoyable, but Roberto was extremely friendly, put me at ease immediately, and seemed like an all around great guy. I enjoyed our conversation as much as I enjoyed the scrub and the massage. I was excited to get my first back facial, too. I had never had one before and had been wanting to try one for a while. Paula did my treatment and was also wonderful. She also gave me some really good advice for keeping my usually terrible back skin in a good shape. I would definitely get another one, or maybe try my first facial with Paula. Overall, I can’t recommend the spa enough. If you only have time for one visit, do not miss out on a scrub. You will not regret it.

Took advantage of the spa package. Awesome Swedish massage by Roberto! Thank you resort and spa staff for another relaxing vacation. This is our fourth visit and we are once again extremely pleased with all aspects of this resort.

I stayed at the Grand Resort and Spa for spring break. I checked in about 7 PM and I was greeted by some of the kindest people. JD happened to be in the lobby when I checked in and he was so kind in easing my concerns. I reserved a basic room in the courtyard. I decided to venture out for the evening, and another staff named Bobby befriended me quickly. I greatly appreciated his company while on the resort. All of the staff treated me like they had known me my entire life. Each morning a complimentary breakfast was served,. The gym is basic, but great for a good morning workout. It also has a shower in the gym in case you need it. I experienced the spa with Roberto and he was PHENOMENAL. It was my first spa experience, and it will not be my last with this resort. The whole property was well kept, and all the guests were friendly. I look forward to when I return. This will be my go to location when visiting FLL.

First time here, stayed in a pool side room, Rooms are very large with kitchen facilities. Massive comfortable bed, nice shower. The pool area is now clothing optional as well as the Jacuzzi at the back. Pool is lovely and warm, Jacuzzi is hot & the jets are very strong. Garden is very well maintained. Good mix of travellers all ages, really nice relaxed atmosphere easy to spark up conversation if you like, or just keep to your self if you like. I would recommend getting a massage while here, they are as good as the reviews. The gym is nice, small but has what you need. It is a very short walk to the beach. When we stayed there was still some Covid restrictions, such as the room not being cleaned unless requested. But that was no big deal really. For a full body tan, by a lovely pool, I would recommend this place. Only thing that wasn't to my taste was the art work on the walls. I'm not going to Fort Lauderdale to see pictures of Paris, lol!
