The hotel is a very pretty boutique hotel. What we loved was that is was totally Covid-friendly, with very few rooms and guests. What made our decision to never come back to thia hotel and change properties was the poor service. It is not a cheap hotel, actually it is pretty experienced for what they offer - and this happened: - My baby was taking a nap today 11am in the morning and the lady from the front desk called the room (Baby woke up crying - thank you ma’am!) asking for us to move our car because a truck has to park there. Like what!!????!! We are chilling in the room, baby sleeping and you call like whatever “hey please move your car??” That’s the service of a one star hotel. Then we were trying to check out and my husband had to wait 30 min next to the car because they were blocking us.

Rooms are immaculate. Upon arrival you receive a complimentary glass of wine so you can go sit by the water and relax. Morning continental breakfast is set up for you at any location you choose throughout the hotel. All the employees are extremely accommodating. It was a wonderful getaway for our anniversary.

My husband and I visited The Pillars in 2020 just before COVID shut everything down. We returned there for our first post-vaccination trip and it was the perfect choice! If you need a place to just chill - this is it. You can sit by the pool and watch the world and boats go by on the intracoastal. If you are looking for a lot of activities, this is more of a relax hotel, but it is a short walk to the beach and a number of restaurants. The hotel provides breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast and lunch options are limited but tasty. Dinner is a must! The team is small but mighty! They wear many hats and look good in all of them. Faye and Mallory at the front desk handle everything from bags, to reservations, to serving drinks always with a smile on their faces. Joseph is a man about the hotel as well who is always there when you need something. You have to have dinner at the Secret Garden. Yelena will provide excellent service with a smile. The food there is fantastic! We look forward to returning in November (already booked) if not sooner!

My first visit here, won’t be my last! Beautiful and clean. Staff exceed expectations. I arrived tired and early for check in. I had hurt my back recently and asked if there was a room on terrace level. The manager made this happen and a staff member helped with luggage from car. I had a peaceful afternoon poolside. Rare to find in Fort Lauderdale. I did not dine at hotel but, look forward in future to enjoying that. Frette linens made me feel at home! Best sleep short of being home.

The Pillars is an oasis of tranquility tucked away on the Intra coastal waterway a couple of blocks back from the beach. It is conveniently situated not only for the beach, but also for the water taxi which plies its way up & down the Intra coastal, a nice way to get around if you don’t have a car. Downtown Fort Lauderdale, the riverside area & the trendy shops on Las Olas Blvd are only a few stops away, as is the Hugh Birch State Park, which is a great place to take a shady walk or bike ride if you want to stay out of the sun. The Pillars exudes an old colonial Caribbean charm, with a relatively small number of rooms grouped around the pool. It is nicely shielded from the surrounding buildings so you never feel overlooked. It has a deck running alongside the Intra coastal where they serve dinner & you can also take breakfast, watching the relatively sedate traffic on the water (we didn’t see any of the party boats pumping out loud music that you get closer to downtown during our stay.) The hotel is kept immaculate, with well-tended gardens & a high attention to cleanliness all round (which is important in these times.) There is a snug little bar area & a sitting room for those days when you can’t sit outside. The kitchen is also excellent. We enjoyed dinner here one evening & the variety of choice & the quality of the food belied the relatively small number of tables. The rooms are quite small but well-appointed, with everything you need (fridge, TV & safe) plus Molton Brown toiletries in the bathrooms. The staff are friendly & attentive but not intrusive, which is a difficult balance to master. We have stayed at some of the larger hotels in Fort Lauderdale which have their pluses (such as the Conrad) but the Pillars is different; special & unique. If you are looking for peace & quiet, even a feeling of exclusivity, then the Pillars is the place for you. It is certainly a hotel we will return to without hesitation. We had some of the best nights’ sleep for a long time here (which speaks for the quality of the beds too !)
