This is the worst hotel we have visited in our decades of travel. The front desk is understaffed and unable to handle the many people we saw come in with a reservation but Plaza had no rooms for them. They were also ill-equipped to handle the guests we saw return from their rooms complaining about security and cleanliness. The morning desk staff person was terribly rude to a couple who also had a reservation, but Plaza could not provide them a room. The staff person swore at the couple and told them to find another hotel! The front lobby tries to present the hotel as upscale, but it only disguises guest rooms that are in disrepair (broken window, missing lampshades, unusable coffee maker...) ill appointed (only two towels, no kleenex, no toilet paper, missing lampshades, dingy bedding ...) and unsafe (hotel exterior doors not secured, first-floor room exterior doors lacking secure locks, sketchy neighborhood). We did not feel safe staying at the Plaza Hotel and do not recommend it.

The 1 I gave the hotel was because we had a roof over our head. We arrived at the hotel and they wanted a $200 deposit. The Hilton, The Marriott and other top chain hotels don’t ask for a deposit that high. We go to our room. Our room is right next to the back door. The back door where the lock is broken and people including homeless people are constantly hanging out. Homeless people are in and out roaming the hotel. Once inside the room, the room has two latch locks plus a deadbolt. Should I think they are keeping me safe or wonder what are the keeping me safe from? Next your eyes go to the curtains where it looks like the curtains have been shot up because the back of them are peeling. My husband and I pull out our Lysol wipes to wipe down the room. We are in a handicapped room, so the bathroom has bars next to the toilet and in the shower. The Lysol towels were so black I don’t believe they have ever been cleaned let alone wiped. The chairs in the room are pleather covered, and the Lysol towels were not as black but they were dirty. The headboard was totally filthy. You can tell this hotel tried to remodel. The wood shelf was falling off the wall. The fire faucets on the ceiling were still wrapped with plastic from painting. The bedside table was peeling. Some black bugs kept coming from the Air-conditioner. I verified they were not bed bugs. The sheets had cigarette burns. Then what really was the issue was, in the bathroom we had two big towels and one washcloth. The next day the made comes by and says she has one facecloth per room. They had no towels. Later that day we were out and housekeeping was gone when we got back. We did not get towels until 9 am the next morning after calling 3 times. And of course we could not get anymore while we were there. And please don’t expect yo get and ironing board or iron. If you are desperate to not be homeless this is your expensive shelter to stay at.

If you want a microwave (if they have some) is $10 per night and same with the fridge. Booked a king bed and they gave it away and gave me a double bed.

On site restuant very limited to meal choice - 2 to 3 items only. Free breakfast is only 7 am to 10 am. Not convient for business travlers.

Check out front desk person was not friendly. No "how was your stay" or "lets go over your bill"

Not the cleanset bathroom and not the dirtiest.

TV is limited and fuzzy on most stations

Free WI-Fi comes and goes and not stable for business work

Price for the room was good when booked on line. My 5 night stay was less than $300 after taxes and fees.

Would not stay here with my wife or for pleasure. Worked ok for me price wise. I think of this hotel as camping indoors :)

Parking is pleanty.

My boyfriend and I booked a one night stay at this hotel as we were getting into Florida very late and wanted a 24 hr check in.

**FYI- the hotel places a $200 hold on your room in addition to what you paid to book**

Upon getting there, the staff were friendly and had us sign paperwork consenting to the $200 holding fee (the paper work said 250 but my bank statement only had the 200) and gave us a key card. The room we had rented online was different than the room received. Ie- online it mentioned 2 full beds and we actually just got one bed but the bed was a king (which was fine by us and the staff mentioned the room would have a different bed).

The overall hotel is not very up to date. Once getting into our room - it was fine. Not the best place but not bad either. Had an iron, hair dryer, mini shampoo and conditioners and soaps along with towels. The window had a view of a tennis court and the lights were very bright shining into the room that were covered mostly by the curtains.

It was easy to hear other people next to you but no one was loud.

Overall the place was very average.

First off the keys to our room didn't work. I had to go back down to let them know I couldnt get into the room.(staying on the 5th floor) They replaced the keys. The toilet looked like it was going to overflow when flushed.Thank God it didnt. Went to grab a towel in the bathroom & the towel rod fell off. The internet goes in and out & I'm not sure if this review will even go thru. The restaurant/bar sign stated they closed at 10pm. Went there at 8:55pm and they were already closed. Others were wanting to go there too. NO REFRIGERATOR in the room?!? Soda machine on floor# 5 only takes quarters and debit/ credit. No Bills. And Of COURSE the debit / credit didnt work. Not allowed to smoke in building which is fine and you can exit any door BUT cannot enter Any door except for the one in the lobby. Case & Point....someone was even locked out of the door leading to the Tiki Bar which I was told was locked at 10pm. Once again Locked WAY before then. I dont stay in Ritzy hotels so I know what the budget hotels have to offer and this is the worst experience I have had in a hotel. The ONLY redeeming thing about our stay here is that I didnt see any insects and the staff was very friendly and accomodating.

AVOID AT ALL COST! They canceled a prepaid reservation of 6 rooms that was confirmed since 2 weeks before without notice despite that we had an international flight booked for the next day.
They referred us to another hotel, which rooms cost were double; we even had to take three of the rooms for smokers without choice. They did not provided/paid for transportation costs to the hotel where we were relocated.

Terrible customer service.

Upon arrival we were met by very unpleasant lady. After checking into the room the Internet that they claimed they had had no service in the room nor could we receive a cell phone signal. We asked to be placed in a new room. There were roaches and gunshots fired. We literally moved and stayed at a friends house to avoid being in the hotel. It is not a safe space at all. Armed security guards would escort us into the building at night to get our belongings. The bathrooms are nasty and the sheets have stains on them. They do not give you towels you have to get them from the front desk and they are the size of a washcloth and dirty dingy

We stayed for four nights this passed weekend, the room was dirty , smelled stale and the bathroom was covered in mold and rust, the next day we complained to the front desk and the person didn’t seem surprised or ofended by this. he promised that the room would be deep clean but that didn’t happen, in return they said that the hotel was out of towels! We had to buy some nearby, we would have regardless as they’re towels appear to be 10 years or older. The guests are dodgy looking and the smoke of ganja was everywhere. No way I ever stay in that dump again! Definitely not a place for kids, I’ve stayed at motels much cleaner and with a better service than here. The furniture in our room was nothing like the picture online, they looked as if they were purchased at a thrift shop 20years ago...

The customer service representative's at this hotel are extremely rude, no manners, the worst attitudes. How I feel is if you do not want to work at a place get another job, do not take out your misery on every paying guest. The rooms don't have microwaves, the tv doesn't work, it's crackheads all around the hotel, and the environment is extremely dangerous. It was a brawl in the middle of the hallway. The hotels pool security locked everyone out of the pool at 9PM even though every sign in the hotel states the pool close at 10PM. When we tried to talk to him he continuously ignored us and finally turned around said I don't care it is closed. The front desk girl 1 African American with braids going to the back is extremely unprofessional. I did not catch her name. When coming to this hotel the gos and address takes you to a shell gas station when I I was telling the hair braided to the back girl she hung up in my face. When I finally found the hotel and mentioned that I was the one she hung up on she said "oh I thought you was done talking" Terrible experience!!! The African American girl with the ponytail, extremely rude no enthusiasm in her face, none in her face. You ask her anything she looks as if she doesn't even want you to speak with her. Honestly, once I check out I will not recommend anyone to come to this hotel. I will also post reviews on every site that I can find, this experience was extremely a waste of money.

do not pick this place to stay... all the other hotels were book in the area I was trying to stay close by a football field due to our game and players being able to afford the room. the room was dingy, needs major upgrades, bathroom had mold around the tub, dresser drawers broken, ice machine broke, free breakfast which is actually 2.50 was horrible... floors need to be cleaned throughout, came in one night to find fockers sleeping in the hallway in the chairs to the rooms.. I would never return even if someone paid me.. also, small ants or something crawling on the morning bath sink.

STAY AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN!!!!!!! The Plaza was a 2 star motel, you got a food voucher for your meals there and then had to pay a service fee/taxes around $5+ each couple/meal. The resort "time" share presentations sounds good, high pressure, really think about your financial position for FOREVER. Grounds maintenance fee alone was over $100/month for THEIR properties. Rental car we got was too small for our one suitcase, had to go larger, $431 later we had a Toyota Corolla!!! (make sure you know that there is a toll eliminator on the windshield (they didn't tell us about that). We didn't go to Orlando, so can't speak to motels there. A couple we spoke to stayed at a different motel, their evening meal at that motel (chicken salad sandwich) cost them $70 plus their voucher. The cruise ship was not bad, but I've been on 13 other cruises, ALL were better. Our resort in the Bahamas didn't let us into our rooms until 3 pm, even though we were there at 10:30 am. Luggage sat outside the resort at the curb all that time. How do you use the ocean/pool without your swimsuit? We had a relaxful time, met some very nice people, but are very glad we didn't buy into the "package". Our "free" trip ended up costing us at least $1000, with air fares, rental car, meals we wanted besides the motel meals (@ $5+ a meal), so you decide. Most of the people we talked to were either VERY glad they hadn't bought in, or if they had, were really concerned about the financial obligation they were now involved with, one lady thought she had 10 days to back out, but I'm not sure if she could. If you had children/spouse during the presentation, they could NOT leave for any reason, or you lost your cruise voucher. We ended up deciding that for the $$$$$ they wanted to BUY into their resort we could do a lot of vacationing on our own and not owe anybody $$$ for years. Guess that's enough.

There is no time share talk. It is clean enough. We did not have any bugs when we stayed there but it is Florida lol For the price and breakfast included it’s a good deal. You can get nicer but you will pay more.

I did not have a bed bug issue, however the food there was not the best below average, I would go somewhere else for dinner there are plenty of restaurants in the area though! Good luck there is a La Quinta Inn and Suites like next door do not confuse it with the La Quinta Inn East location on Commercial Ave. I would go out to dinner even if you chose to stay at the La Quinta Inn and suites. Hope this helps you!
