We visited the Ritz Carlton in mid-August for one night. And had the pleasure of staying two nights. We stayed on the Club floor. The weather was awful post Hurricane Sally and we spent a lot of time in the Club Lounge. The food offerings were fantastic. We particularly loved the omelet station at breakfast and the sticky buns. But the highlight was definitely the staff, particularly Joni and Adam. Everyone at the Ritz-Carlton embraces the best of southern hospitality. We look forward to many more memories.

This was our first time on Amelia Island! This was our view from our room. Everyone at the hotel was so polite and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and lush! The pool area was magnificent! Flo took care of us all day!! We will definitely be back!

This is not a Ritz Carlton. This is a disaster waiting for a refit. Kudos to the front desk staff and all staff around the property for being very professional. Thank you to the hotel for giving us a direct ocean front room upgrade, but that does not make up for how terribly tired and old the room is. Other than the lobby and common areas which seem to have been updated somewhat recently, the banner on the front should read Holiday Inn not Ritz Carlton. As we walked into our room our first couple of steps showed that it had not been vacuumed; random dirt on the tile in the entrance, a left over tag from a new item of clothing left from the guest before us and curly hair on the bathroom floor - either from the cleaning woman or guests before us, a random white stain by the desk chair and no note pad/pen on the desk. In terms of Covid policy, there were very few people there, so it was easy to be socially distant everywhere, with the exception of the pool bar where people were next to other other with no visible attempt from the hotel to enforce social distancing. Every hotel that I’ve stayed at in the last few weeks was very transparent with what percentage they were running at, but for some reason this property did not want to reveal at what percentage they were operating during Covid. Back to the room; the decorative paper in the headboard is ripping off, the mouldings at the bottom of the doors are all dirty and cracked, the phone on the desk was non functional, ripped upholstery on the couch. The furnishings are just screaming “Key West 2004”. The pool is no better, quite a dramatic site to see. The exterior jacuzzi tub was filthy with cracked tiles and thick grime on the tiles above the water line. Easy upgrades like new pillows or a coat of paint would go a long way for the seating area in the middle of the pool. Back to the room: this is The first hotel I’ve been to in a while that still has a bathtub shower. Rusted shower curtain, dust on moulding of bathroom door. Pervious to my stay I called twice to get some information for my stay and both times spoke to a woman named Manda or Amanda providing blunt answers in a condescending tone with too much attitude for my liking. Trying to be nice: the location is spectacular with large natural dunes and a wide white powder beach with service that we didn’t get to enjoy on our short stay. The lobby bar with sushi and specialty cocktails is 5/5!! Portions for in room dining healthy options breakfast are very generous and was delivered right on time. Location and staff (minus woman I spoke to on phone) are keeping this place together, the hotel itself is NOT! 550$ a night is insulting and then 35$ valet to move the car 100 feet. You should be ashamed. Room-wise this is probably the worst Ritz Carlton I’ve stayed at. To their credit it looked like there was construction going on, but that doesn’t justify still charging 550$ for awfully old rooms. It’s okay, to be an older hotel, but I won’t accept both old and dirty.

This was our first trip away since March but it was time to get away and see some new walls and scenery, and so as a loyal member of the Ritz family we thought where better than a Ritz not too far from us. The Ritz Amelia Island is a 5.5hour drive from home and so we booked for 3 nights an Executive Club Suite for myself, my wife and 2 kids. Off we went and 360 miles later we pulled in a great greeting from the valet and bell man which continued throughout in fact all the staff we encountered were warm friendly and truly a credit. However when we arrived our reservation had been cancelled by whom we weren’t told but certainly not by us, but the gentleman on reception went away came back apologized and gave us the Ritz Carlton Suite instead which was really very nice. Our Friday was a good day by the pool very attentive staff good food etc. Dinner Thursday night was so slow we started at 7pm but by the time our appetizers arrived I thought it was breakfast they didn’t arrive till after 9.15 some 2.25 hours later and given they were operating at 50% isn’t great but the food was excellent no question there particularly the fried chicken. However, Saturday was a disaster!! Our 3 year old wanted something from his stroller which we had parked by the fireplace was I surprised when I bent down to find close to the fire place a dead gecko and not one that had been dead a couple of hours but it had been dead days looking closer there was wax from burnt candles on the fireplace and in the world where it is clearly stated on the website every room is deep cleaned and sanitized after every guest it is clearly a complete lie and corporate bull**** designed to provide comfort in today’s world when it clearly is just words with no real substance. When this was pointed out to management it was taken seriously and glossed over in the hope it would go away and when we checked out today we were offered a $150 credit which was frankly insulting. When I spoke to the manager today and pointed out how this looked it wasn’t well received and she even had the audacity to say well our upgrade to the Ritz Suite had back fried on them! What they have all failed to realize is this isn’t acceptable ever but especially not presently and it wasn’t our fault they can’t live up to their own corporate policies in place for guest safety! I have photos which I am going to post if required. I hate to add but I will don’t go here over the weekend the place is packed there is no social distancing and there isn’t enough staff to cope and if you are concerned at all about health and safety don’t go here it is substandard and the experience isn’t Ritz Carlton more motel!! To end on a positive note the staff were truly a credit to the hotel and to the Ritz and would be a reason to return. The management is sub par Arrogant and not interested in paying guests or there health and well being.

It has been several years since I stayed at a Ritz-Carlton Hotel. It took little time to remember how great the service is at their hotels. Every person we came in contact with at the hotel was helpful and friendly. Even during the pandemic, this hotel still delivers the 5-star service that is associated with the Ritz-Carlton. The resort has everything you could want from a long weekend or a weekday getaway. The pool area is great, but we elected to enjoy the beach. They do an excellent job of socially distancing the chairs and the gentlemen handling the chairs and umbrellas are pros at creating a relaxing headrest with the towels. The walking trail is nice and everywhere we went at the resort, we were greeted with friendly ladies and gentlemen. They have lots of food options available so if you are concerned about eating out, they have you covered. A wonderful trip that provided lots of great memories.
