We traveled to the Ritz Amelia Island expecting a Ritz Carlton experience and were disappointed to say the least. The rooms were dirty ~ there was even puss all over the mirror in the bathroom from where someone had popped pimples. There were chunks of fuzz and dust on the carpet, broken drawers and even a business card laying on the sofa from a previous occupant. Housekeeping was at a minimum and was blamed on Covid. One would think that would be even more of a reason to ensure that things were clean. The employees that were there were very nice. They explained that they could not get enough help which as business owners we understand. However, they would have been better off to close a portion of the hotel and operate at the capacity they could handle to ensure guests the expected Ritz Carlton experience.…
We’ve stayed here twice and had a wonderful time during both stays. The drinks at the bar are fun! Staff is friendly. The sushi is one of my favorite places to get sushi in Florida - not an Americanized version of sushi deep fried and doused in eel sauce - but an actual sushi restaurant where you can taste the quality ingredients! The staff included sweet surprises like a welcome gift for our little one on our baby moon and chocolates on my birthday. Room service breakfast on your balcony is well worth it. Nightly beach bonfires and activities for kids were such a great time!
Returning from Georgia to Florida we decided to stop at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island. We are so glad we did. There are not enough WOW’s that describe how magnificent a hotel this is. We stopped inside for a bite to eat at one of their gorgeous ocean view restaurants - our server was “over the top”professional and charming, he made you feel like royalty! They know how to do everything right at this hotel from beginning to end. We personally met with Ricky Underhill - asst. front desk mgr who was so helpful and Greg Cook, the General Manager, who was delightful, friendly and most gracious. We are definitely excited about booking our next vacation here. Trust me it’s spectacular! Until then… Ciao
We used my husband's Bonvoy points to help book an incredible room at the Ritz Carlton of Amelia Island. We were delighted to receive a room upgrade at check in. The ocean view suite was beautiful, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. We also had access to the Club Lounge and that was delicious and convenient. I have to give a special shout-out to the staff in the Club Lounge especially Joni. They are so attentive and kind. My son LOVED the boogie boards available to use/rent and we had so much fun at the beach or the lovely pool. The food we had on the property was all tasty and our picky son even enjoyed. The staff we encountered were polite and attentive. We did have a slight frustration one day having the room serviced but that is the only critique I can offer after staying 3 wonderful nights at this premiere property.…
I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island for 4 nights last week for a conference. I had never stayed at a Ritz before so to say I was beyond excited would be an understatement. I was highly disappointed. To make a long story short, housekeeping was average at best. The robe i used one night was never replaced when housekeeping removed it from my room. i was worried i would get charged for the missing robe. I did not but i did notify the front desk when I checked out. The bottom sheet on the bed was placed in a way that it didn't stay in place during the night. I woke up to the bottom sheet all in a crumbled ball in the middle of the bed. Housekeeping missed cleaning my room one day when I was not in the room for most of the day. Two meals per day were provided by catering services so I cannot attest to most of the restaurants but First Drop was good for a quick bite to eat or a snack. The Lobby Bar food was good but I waited 90 min for my burger and fries. The server was so apologetic and gave me a complimentary appetizer and then ended up giving me my meal for free for being so patient. I was content at my table reading my book. It was raining outside so i had nowhere else to be. I tried Coquina for a drink after an afternoon at the beach. Even though I was seated less than 10 feet away from the servers, I was ignored for quite a while until someone said "oh I didn't see you sitting there" and came to take my drink order. Guest services wasn't much better. I asked 2 questions about my stay with regards to getting a beach chair, umbrella and towel and was given the wrong answer twice. The beach staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The pool area was small and the chairs were so close together that i didn't feel like squeezing through trying to find an empty lounge chair. My room was a king with a wide open side view of the ocean. Gorgeous!! My balcony was the best part of my stay.…
Maybe one of the greatest weekend getaway ever!!! We live in Central Florida and we’re looking for a beach getaway that wasn’t the standard. While pricey, the ritz did not let us down! The staff is amazing and so extremely accommodating. The room was plenty of space for my family of 4 and the food was amazing! Special shout-out to Cody at the Lobby Bar!
This property is wonderful but the staff is even better. The service was the best we’ve had almost anywhere. Everyone was so helpful and ready to go out of their way to help. One of the best places we’ve ever stayed.
It's been since April when we stayed here to celebrate my husband's 60th and I still dream of being there! We had an exceptional visit. Our ocean front room was larger than our first apartment. Staff are lovely, food did not disappoint and the location is terrific. We have stayed at other RC properties and this was one of the best in our experience.
We enjoyed the Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island Resort! It was absolutely amazing! Our trip was full of romance and fun. Thanks to our personal Housekeepers Lollie and Nelson for taking such good care of us. They treated us like royalty. Our room was always exceptionally clean and we were surprised with special complimentary gifts, during our 3-night stay. We never had to ask for anything because our wonderful housekeepers made sure that we had everything we needed, plus a whole lot more. Thanks Lollie & Nelson! You guys are the best! You definitely help the Ritz-Carlton live up to its name! We can't wait to visit you and the BEAUTIFUL RITZ-CARLTON AMELIA ISLAND again! ~City Commissioner Gaines & Tameka of Georgia
Check in was very quick. We were not offered an upgrade as a titanium member so requested one and they obliged with a higher floor and better view. Room was a little dated but adequate. Housekeeping was slightly erratic and it was pot luck if things were refreshed. Restaurants were all good. Beach was lovely and I really appreciated the guys on the beach reuniting me with my mobile. Pool was crowded and as a result looked cramped. Beds on beach and around the pool needed updating with more luxurious and comfortable beds. Valets were all working hard and were very efficient. Overall it didn’t blow me away but would consider returning for 2 or 3 days.
