For our 28th anniversary, we wanted an upscale B&B on Amelia island. We have been virtually everywhere in Florida, and Amelia does a beautiful job with its beach access. You can read the history of this inn on their website and see all The pictures, but we asked our travel agent to help us since she has been spot on with every recommendation she has made on our behalf. She called after researching and said, “If you don’t go, I will!” Ricky and Tracey, the proprietors, are the perfect managers and owners. They know exactly what you need, have it ready, whether it is a reliable bicycle, a libation, a towel or just restaurant guidance. We care nothing for resorts for a plethora of reasons. Going to Hoyt House is like visiting friends who are genuinely glad to see you and want to make sure that you love the place they call home as much as they do. The happy hour at five, six days a week must not be missed. The stories that are exchanged amongst Ricky, Tracey and all the guests further confirm just how great the experience is. Everyone practices social distancing but there is never a loss for the feeling of intimacy that persists. That is a tall order, but it works and works very well. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations and gourmet breakfasts you will absolutely love this place. It is not pretentious but it is nicely upscale without feeling over the top. If there is such a thing as a B&B circuit in Florida, this would be my choice for the number one slot. Go, enjoy and relax. We will be back for certain!

Perfect location to downtown Fernandina beach. We walked to 2 great restaurants each night for dinner. The inn is charming with lots of interesting decor to look at. We stayed in Mr Hoyts room which was cozy and a very comfortable bed. Tracey and Rick were wonderful hosts, delicious breakfast, helpful suggestions and just really nice people. I would highly recommend this place as a couples get away weekend!

Words cannot describe how amazing our experience was at the Hoyt House Bed and Breakfast /Amelia Island. This is truly a world class gem. We went for a belated birthday and left with lifelong friends. Rick and Tracy are one of a kind and truly put their heart and soul into their home and making your experience beyond 5 stars. The breakfast is better than any European cafe. The house is decorated with the finest furniture and world class bedding and toiletries. Every amenity is thought of and the grounds are stunning. The gardens and pool and hot tub is truly period piece resort but in 2020. Do not hesitate for a moment the Hoyt house is an escape and magical. The authentic inn keepers and robust breakfast and afternoon spirits made our trip as if we were visiting family. Sincerely, Deanne and Thaddeus Siewert

Great linens, nice bathrooms, heated pool, large property, and great hot breakfasts. Tracey’s scones are wonderful!!!ask for a back or front room to avoid road noise but the location is great. Walk to historic Fernandina Beach shops and excellent restaurants or bike to the beautiful Amelia Island beaches. The Inn has a small pub too!
