We met some longtime friends from Ohio at the Hoyt House in early November. We stayed 4 nights in the Honeymoon Suite. The room and bathroom were clean and beautiful, and we really enjoyed the little adjoining outdoor patio that is attached to this room. Breakfast and coffee were wonderful each morning - a new treat every day! We enjoyed the daily happy hour with Todd, our friends, and the other guests. My husband and one of our friends spent a lot of time working on a jigsaw puzzle, and we all enjoyed sitting on the spacious patio. The pool area is a large and quiet place just to relax - I enjoyed the serenity. We brought our own bikes, but we were happy to see the nice bikes and beach gear available to the quests. We walked to dinner and lunch each day as the historic downtown and restaurants are definitely within walking distance. There is a lot of truck traffic during the day heading to and from a paper mill, but the truck traffic eases around 5PM weekdays and on the weekends. We would definitely return to the Hoyt House if our travels bring us back that way again. The owners are welcoming.…
We were 100% impressed with Jamie and Todd, The Hoyt House. They make you feel at home and part of the family. It exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious, breakfast was wonderful, and location was perfect. We highly recommend and look forward to returning. It is a 5-star experience!
The Hoyt House is such an absolute gem!! The location is wonderfully situated in the heart of the historic district, the history of the home is so fascinating and the beds are sooo comfortable. Jamie and Todd are fantastic hosts and I love the guest happy hour they do every night for us all to mingle together - it was a fun way to meet others. The breakfast was also delicious (if you stay through Sunday morning, you're in for an extra special treat!) We will definitely be staying here again in the future!
We recently stayed here for a wedding. This B&B first of all has an amazing location at the corner of where the historic district starts with all of the shopping and restaurants that area has to offer. The host, Todd, did a great job of bartending and keeping the place up. Breakfast was varied and delicious each day of the stay and a nice inclusion. The house itself is from 1905 and has the associated creaks and groans associated but that is part of the charm of a B&B. There are 10 rooms, each styled in a historic manner with comfortable ensuite bathrooms. The street outside is rather busy but you'd never know from in the rooms. There is a pub open from 4-5pm on site for guests as well as sitting parlors. The pool area is very relaxing and inviting. Overall this is a great base for your adventures on Amelia Island.…
My husband and I stayed in the Hoyt House for our wedding anniversary for four nights and had a grand time. We stayed in the Willis room and enjoyed the comfortable bed and the spacious suite. The common areas inside and outside of the house were very well cared for and we pretty much had the pool and spa to ourselves in October. Our favorite part was probably the breakfast every morning and not having to decide what we were going to eat; instead it was deliciously prepared for us and served in the friendly dining room. The house is conveniently located in walking distance from most of downtown Fernandina Beach’s restaurants and shops, and we enjoyed the car show and getting to shop on Centre Street. It was a rejuvenating vacation for us both and we would love to stay again at the Hoyt House. Jamie and Todd are excellent hosts!…
Fabulous stay at Hoyt House, Jamie & Todd could not have done more. They were so welcoming and accommodating, complimentary sodas & waters & bikes which we used to go to the beach - great fun! Location was spot on, 2 minutes walk from restaurants. Lovely pool area, room was gorgeous & we so enjoyed complimentary wine/beer from 4-5pm. Would highly recommend.
The hosts could not have been more accommodating. They text us before arrival to let us know we could check in early. The parking is right on site, so it was easy. They greeted us right away and give us the history behind the home. They have complimentary water and soda and cookies. The home was well maintained despite the age and the staff was wonderful. The home is a short walk to restaurants and the shops in the historic downtown area. They have a complimentary breakfast which was very nice.
My daughter's wedding was a wonderful experience here. Jamie and Todd were very welcoming and helpful. The setup on and around the gazebo was beautiful. The breakfasts were scrumptious with great attention to detail. After check out we needed a place to store our luggage and perishable food and were still allowed to use the fridge and hallway to keep our things. That was so appreciated!
This was our first visit here and we would highly recommend a stay here to anyone who appreciates attention to details. These folks are so welcoming and personable and made us feel very special. The well-balanced breakfasts alone are worth the price of admission, and the rooms, home history, location, etc. are icing on the cake. We are planning a return visit here in the future. Highly recommended!
This was one of the best places we've stayed. Todd and Jamie are very lovely people. Can hardly wait for the next time. The pool and jacuzzi were very relaxing after a long day downtown. We will be going back soon!
