I stayed at the Hoyt House in September for a short trip to visit with some family in the area. This was my first b&b experience and it was wonderful! Everyone I met during my stay were friendly and warm people, from the owners, Tracey & Ricky, to the other guests at the Inn. Breakfast was always amazing and great to have options instead of just 1 thing. I will deffinatley be returning and reccomending to family & friends!!

Ricky and Tracy were wonderful hosts. We stayed in Kate's Study Room. They were able to accommodate a later check-in for my wife and I. There were delicious chocolate chip cookies and bottled water waiting for us in the room. A soothing sound machine. Top of the line amenities. The bedding was incredible and it's the best night sleep I've had since having our baby. The location of the Hoyt House is perfect and many great dining and sight-seeing historic destinations are walkable from the property. The historic décor is really cool and the breakfast was delicious. Definitely will be booking again when we head back to Amelia Island in the future.

We did stay here over the weekend while visiting Fernandina Beach. The location was perfect if you want to be on the river side near the shops. You can easily walk to the local shops and river. We did use the bikes and ride to the ocean. The ride was easy and not too far. They ocean park had bike racks so we could lock the bikes and enjoy the sand. However, we just did not have the "dynamite", "perfect" or "five star" experience. Off street parking is limited due to the size of the lot. If you have a larger vehicle, you will have problems getting out. Checkin was confusing. A employee saw us, then disappeared. We sat for 20 minutes and had to hunt down someone to check us in. No formal desk or arrows pointing to the office. The early evening hors d'oeuvres were ritz crackers and small cheese pieces. Maybe I should not have expected a little more. The room was nice/average. We could not figure out why so many vintage naked lady photos were hung throughout the room and bath?? Just a little odd. The bed linens were so heavy, it made sleeping uncomfortable. But the sheets were very smooth and nice. The house is right next to the main street coming into town. It did not get quiet until later in the night. I tried to watch some college football in the evening, but the satellite signal was messed up all night. The breakfast smell woke us up in the morning, and the scones were delicious. My wife's pumpkin pancakes were tasty. This was the highlight of our stay. However my eggs were....eggs. We could not figure out the strong mothball smell in the front of the home, maybe for snakes? The porch does have a nice swing. I hate to say this, but this B&B would not be my first choice when we return.

Stayed mid-October 2019 in "Kate's Study". Enjoyed our stay very much. It was too cool to enjoy the pool, but a perfect weekend evening for relaxing together on the porch swing or rockers. This inn is in a great location for strolling through town, and several nice options for dinner in walking distance. We landed at Pepper's Coquina for a nice casual dinner on their patio. We found the inn and room clean and nice. It's freshly painted and is in great shape...and we slept great. The only minor disappointments were the happy hour and breakfast. We came down for the last half of happy hour to find a very picked over plate of very basic crackers and cheese, and two unlabeled carafe's of some sort of mystery wine and plastic cups. I'm sure we could have searched out someone, but we were never offered any alternative drinks or beer....or anything else for that matter. I guess I expected some other more substantial and nicer appetizer selections to hold us over to a late dinner.... but perhaps it was our fault for missing the start. Our trend of tardiness continued the next morning, arriving roughly 20 minutes before the end of the one hour breakfast seating window. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent, but the self serve fruit bowl was picked thin and the orange juice pitcher was empty...and even after asking it wasn't refilled....again maybe our fault for not coming early.... they just weren't available following up to see if we needed anything for happy hour or breakfast. Otherwise everything was great with the stay!
