Travelers' Choice
Originally built in 1886, the Amelia Schoolhouse Inn was the original school for Amelia Island. Operating as a school for nearly 50 years, the building, despite its prime location in the downtown area, floundered as a multi use property for decades. In 2018, the building was completely restored into a 17 room boutique inn complete with an upscale bar. With meticulous restoration of much of the original aspects of the building - including wood floors, the brick, and windows, the completely renovated Amelia Schoolhouse Inn will make you want to come back to the island time after time.

Amelia School House Inn was a great and unique place to stay. Overall a wonderful experience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to come back. Would definitely recommend to anyone including friends and family. We walked into the historic district each evening for dinner so it was very convenient.

Hotel's Favorite
When we decided to head to Fernandina Beach for a long weekend, people recommended staying further down the island on the water. But then I found photos and reviews for Amelia Schoolhouse Inn and knew right away that we had to stay here. Loved the history behind the building and it's in a perfect location to walk to everything we wanted. The staff was great and friendly every day. Room was spotless and picture perfect. Love the schoolhouse touches and details. Borrowed bikes one day to ride around the island, explored Fort Cinch, and just enjoyed the day. The Principal's Office was a great place to grab a quick drink and snack before heading out to dinner. Thank you for a great stay, we'll definitely be back!

The Inn is absolutely lovely! Their attention to detail was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean and decorated beautifully. The location was easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Of all the boutique hotels we have stayed in, the Amelia Schoolhouse Inn was our favorite! We wished we could have stayed longer. We wanted to try one of Ally's crafted cocktails in the Principle's Office bar. That will have to be next time!

Small rooms are not overwhelming small. Extremely clean. A two block walk to the historic district. Make sure to go and down the side streets. Staff is attentive and reactive. Be sure to visit the Plantation as well. Beach is nice, nothing extrordinary.

We took a short stopover here for a night in our way home and we’re shocked to see no one wearing masks in public spaces all staff members guests ect not one mask except ours. Apparently the indoor mask rule doesn’t apply here. It’s a shame this is a lovely inn great location and nice rooms but should be avoided untill covid is over!
