The staff was pleasant and helpful, the rooms and common areas were clean and well-kept, and the hotel was quite charming. Easy walk to many restaurants and the marina. We enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay again!
I don’t know how anyone can find anything wrong with this place :). They are lovely hosts and very accommodating…everyone we encountered was helpful and pleasant. We stayed in room 13, and it was so charming. They had an adorable refrigerator in our room and a microwave, Keurig, ice/water machine right down the hall you can use anytime. The air was great in the room and they have a ceiling fan as well. The bar had a great charcuterie board I ordered twice along with an old fashioned. Live music on Thursdays. The outside putting green and pool is also a huge plus. It’s walking distance from some great local restaurants. Shirt drive to the beach. You can drive your 4WD in many places onto the beach which was game changer for us. The downtown is charming and the traffic was easy…compared to what we are used to in ATL or Hilton Head it was a non issue. We will be back and would not hesitate to tell our family to come too. Thanks Amelia Schoolhouse for a great vaca.…
My girlfriend and I came to Fernandina Beach for the pride parade and found this little gem. Everything was outstanding, clean and the service was great. I just wish we could have stayed longer! We will be back!
It's so charming...in every way.,,,,the design of the common areas, the rooms and the staff! Every detail was considered. The property is very clean, well managed and is in a great location! Will definitely return!
My first time visiting this little town and honestly, this Inn made the visit 100% even more charming. I loved every second of the time I stayed here and how convenient it was in walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Every detail of the Inn is so cute and loved how they kept the integrity at the same time. Hands down would recommend to anyone.
As an owner of a small boutique hotel, my wife and I seek out other properties to compare to our inn. Schoolhouse Inn absolutely deserves its excellent rating. It’s detailed restoration, operational efficiency and spotless housekeeping surpassed all my expectations. Well done!
I booked this B&B on a recommendation from a friend of a friend and i was not disappointed. From the convenient location, to the free onsite parking, affordable rates, CLEAN & comfy room and friendly staff. I saw someone write a review that the breakfast was lacking - - well if you want more than bagels/danish/fruit/yogurt/ oatmeal/coffee/orange juice, but it was just right for us!! Amanda was super helpful and answered all our questions right away. And there is a bar right on the 1st floor and the reception desk has a HUGE jar of jelly bellies!! Will definitely go back!!!
Stayed here this past weekend and had a great visit. This was a school built in the 1880’s and has undergone an incredible transformation/restoration into a hotel. The staff is super friendly and the room we stayed in (room 9) exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this place……you will not be disappointed. Look forward to returning. I score this hotel a 10 out 10.
We loved our room, the bed was so comfortable, very spacious. Great shower, well-lit bathroom. Location is excellent for walking to shops and restaurants. Beach is about a 10 minute drive. The only thing we could find fault with was the breakfast! We found out they don't have a kitchen so they are very limited in what they can provide. For example, there is no milk for the coffee, only little packets of non-dairy creamer; no butter for the bagels, just little packets of margarine. I think they could do better, even if they charged a little extra. We solve this problem by going to the grocery store and bringing our own food to the breakfast area. There are nice refrigerators in the rooms.
Amelia Schoolhouse is the perfect place to stay in Fernandina Beach. It has every amenity including pool, mini golf, outdoor patios, bar, breakfast. But it’s intimate and personal, not like a chain hotel. The location is excellent, only a few blocks from the center of town but quiet. The rooms are lovely with comfy beds, nice bathrooms, and mini fridges. It’s a great adaptive reuse of an old building.
