The hotel belonging to the Marriott chain asks upon booking if one has a "pet". We clearly indicated "No" in the booking. Fruitless, the hotel placed our room on the "pet friendly" floor (wording by hotel management) in-between multiple dog occupied rooms. Result, the many dogs were barking at each other constantly through the doors. WHAT is the benefit of clearly indicating "not" arriving with a "pet" if placed without any further inquiry n check-in right into the middle of a "dog occupied" floor ??? So far for "customer service" and totalky ignored information provided upfront to the hotel. Overall a nice hotel but customer focus and service is clearly lacking...unless you are a dog owner.

We stayed for 2 nights in the middle of May. This property was conveniently located & clean. The front desk manager was professional & provided helpful information about the hotel & area. I would recommend this property. However the front desk staff, other than the manager, were not to be found @ the front desk but in the back room talking among themselves. This happened to me on at least 6 occasions & needs to be corrected.

Mr Bob manages a great Residence Inn experience at this Marriott property close to the beach. Jen, Angela, Robyn and the entire front desk staff make the property comfortable and enjoyable. The close connection to the guests make for an experience that sets the gold standard to other Marriott properties within the First Coast area. Sandra and the entire housekeeping staff keep the rooms clean and comfortable. Southern hospitality and ocean side charm is very much at the Residence Inn Amelia Island. Thank you to the entire staff for the great stay!

We stayed here for several nights and enjoyed how accessible the hotel was to everything. Whether it be the beach, local shops/restaurants & other every day stores *grocery stores, pharmacies, gas station, banks etc*. I especially admired how close the hotel was to the beach. If we stayed a day or 2 longer, I would have rented a bike to get around. Would be fun without the use of relying on a car. The onsite hotel amenities were limited due to the state of the pandemic, however for our family..we didn't allow ourselves to stay at the hotel due to our 3 night stay. That's ok with us. While the hotels distance is accessible any where we went, there were some drawbacks. Its a bit tough writing an excellent review about our room, not just the hotel itself. We had no issue with the hotel. We loved the location. First of all, the. bed mattress/ pillows/ and sheets were ok. Should be excellent, unfortunately It wasn't great. My bed at my own house is way more comfortable sleep in and the pillow didn't sink in. I own a memory foam pillow for my bed. I'm glad I slept in a bed to begin with..could be sleeping outside. The good news is, we had a a corner unit. That was a good location if one is looking/ seeking more privacy and less hallway noise. The room had all kinds of stuff that needs updating, fixing, and room for improvement. As for the bathroom area, the cold and hot handle on the sink area is loose. And when you're done using the sink, the remaining water takes sometime to drain. it doesn't drain right away when it should. New faucet would be nice. My biggest drawback is the tub/shower combo. It is 2021 and quite frankly who uses tubs nowadays?! The guest bedroom's bathroom had a shower stall not what the master bedroom had. That whole area definitely needs to updated and more attractive looking. I absolutely hate tub/ shower combos. Just like the sink, the the hot and cold knob was a bit loose. The water took a while to drain as well, and that's a shower drain! "Come on folks." In the kitchenette area the dishwasher was really noisy. What the heck? The one person chair in the living area was not very comfortable. It's suppose to be but it wasn't. The area rest were too high. Its as if the seat was meant for people a foot or 2 taller than my height. Since we only slept in our room..from nothing else, we enjoyed staying for several nights.

We stayed here in 2019 and enjoyed it so much we had to come back! Great location and amenities. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite, and I really appreciated the extra room! Because of COVID-19 there were some operational changes, but they still offered a really nice breakfast to go. The ladies who worked the breakfast area were very nice and accommodating. Housekeeping had to be requested, it was not scheduled daily because of COVID. There was some delay getting clean towels. We thought the procedure was to put out our dirty towels by 10 am and get new towels delivered, but that did not seem to work for us. However, we could get clean towels if we went to the front desk. You take your trash to the area by the ice machine. To get additional dishwashing tablets you go each night to the front desk and request. Hand sanitizer was available in multiple locations. Overall, a very nice stay and we will be happy to go again. There are great walking trails right behind the hotel and it is a short walk to the beach.
