Before you book, please check the real price-including the $35/day resort fee. Then, you can compare apples to apples. Keep in mind that this is a motel-(free parking right outside your door,) and that some of the amenities seem to be unavailable at times. For example, I read about free drinks at the poolside bar, but those were not available. I read that there is coffee available in the common area. However, coffee is only served during breakfast. (No coffee makers in rooms, either.) I think some of the information on web sites may need updated. Breakfast is nourishing and well-organized. Thanks to the lady who kept it all organized and refilled everything promptly! We did take advantage of the free loaner bikes one afternoon, and that was nice. There are designated bike lanes all over the place! (Check out Egan's Creek Greenway and Trails!) The pool seemed clean, but it was a little cool for swimming in March. The lodging is pretty basic-- our unit was very clean and the friendly housekeeper kept it that way all week. The best part of this place is the location-just a block to the beach! You can borrow wagons and beach chairs-included in resort fee. One bright spot is V-Pizza, located in the front parking lot: The serve up charred and chewy pies with simple, quality ingredients. The Vegetariana packs so much flavor that you won't miss the meat. Overall, we had a great week on Amelia Island. We spent most of our time enjoying the great outdoors. When we came in at night, the shower had plenty of hot water, the bedding was comfy. the heat/AC unit was very noisy but kept the temperature comfortable. Most nights, it was quiet. However, on the weekend, some rowdy guests (and a car full of young women circling the building yelling "Woo-hoo") made it almost impossible to sleep. (To be fair, it was Spring Break.) There you have a quick view-enjoy your stay!…
Clean and very simple. VERY LOUD - walls are paper thin. Toilet flushing sounded like an airplane toilet and had to wake everyone next door too. Breakfast is very basic. Curtains are definitely not “blackout.” This was a last min booking for us so it sufficed, but I would look for something better next time we come to town.
All I can say is that the best thing about this place is location, large pool and rocking bar!! Ally cat @ Coastlines bar was too much fun! Kept the place hopping with her fun personality. It’s definitely worth dropping by for some karaoke or to play the jukebox!! As far as the hotel goes, rooms were clean and comfortable. Some parts of room are extremely dated and I was puzzled by the painted styrofoam blocks on the wall with lights mounted to them. Fire detector was hanging by wires. We were booked for several nights for my husbands job and informed the desk clerk we needed to check out a day early because of high rates for the car show. Assuming this would be fine (never been to hotel yet that had a problem with checking out day early with days of prior notice), they charged us for last night that we did not stay $542 and the confirmation had it priced at $478. Manager was incredibly unreasonable and will most likely lose a lot of future business.…
Great stay! Room was clean and by the looks fairly recently renovated. A little noise from the bar area one night but it's a bar so you expect that. Good location on the island, a quick drive to any point. Good places to eat and beach access within an easy walk.
We decided to visit N Fla last minute over Thanksgiving to check out a over 55 community. Because we wanted to stay near the beach we picked Ocean Coast hotel. Have you ever gone to a family gathering and saw food that you weren’t sure you would like, only to pass on it, have others tell you how good it was, try it and love it? That’s how I felt at Ocean Coast. This is an older hotel that they are revamping and refreshing and I appreciate the effort. The beds were much nicer than I expected. The mattresses were new and comfortable and very nice. The linens were new and clean and very comfy. They have a full-size sand volleyball court. They have a full-size basketball court and 2 tennis courts. They have ample size dog park area to walk your dog. They have tables and grills if you want to picnic. They have a pizza restaurant attached and they are converting the “lounge” to a indoor lazy river. And my wife’s favorite feature - they had plenty of adult and child bikes on-site and you can rent them for the outstanding price of “free.” It’s not a 5 star hotel. It’s not perfect. But if you aren’t too fancy and don’t need a lot of special treatment, it’s nice to have a place that is really trying to set up their fake and it’s 750 feet from the beach. You should try it. …
I don't know who you are paying to write the good reviews of your hotel because this filthy place was literally falling down around us. Dirty walls, barely working doors & locks. Zero worry by any of the staff working there. I called 3 times the first 2 days to get a manager or ANY staff person on the phone & NEVER got a return call. The maintenance guy cared but stated management felt like having the water off at 11:00 everyone would be done taking their showers by then so it wouldn't be a problem, but they certainly didn't TELL anyone it was going to be off. They knew it would be the whole back side with water off so why book those rooms? I thought "Well, at least there aren't roaches".....Until the 2nd day & yes there were.
The king suite was heavily outdated, smell was off putting, and the carpet stained your feet black. It advertised free breakfast but we were never advised if this. The listing said it was a kitchenette with full kitchen supplies. They provided pots and pants but no stove. A coffee pot and dishes were provided but they did not have the standard coffee bags, creamer, etc. or small bottle of dish soap. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, the pillows were awful, the bath didn’t drain well. It was close to the beach, that was nice.
Highlights of our stay was the great personal service and knowledge, friendliness of front desk representative, Tiana. She was absolutely great. Shanique also was very nice and helpful. Relentless work of maintenance supervisor Dre caught my attention, he was working above and beyond to make sure that the air conditioner was working great. I will stay here again..
From the time I walk in the door I’m treated with the best bar tender on the island, miss Sarah, always smiling and happy, stop in for drink and enjoy the A/C and other great bar tenders. Her personality is amazing and makes you feel like family.
Practically empty. Noel at the front desk was awesome but that was the only thing nice about the place. 2nd day the other front desk lady added $40 to our bill for the Amenities fees. That's a joke! Bar & Restaurant were closed. Volleyball court was grown over with grass. Swimming pool was being worked on. We moved out and up the street to a nicer hotel. They are being sold. Don't waste your time!!
