While the Omni Amelia Island Resort boasts a stunning location with easy beach access and a variety of amenities, including beautiful pools, guests have called out discrepancies in room quality, pointing to uncleanliness and outmoded design. Despite the well-maintained entrance and common areas, the value proposition is frequently questioned, as many travelers find the resort’s pricing steep relative to the offered experience. Nevertheless, the service often garners commendation for its attentiveness, although it's not without occasional lapses.

We had the best stay for our anniversary! The outdoor venue and pools are just beautiful. We highly recommend the Oceanview restaurant. We loved being able to take the shuttles around the property. All staff were extremely responsive and friendly. We also had so much fun on our segway tour! Can't wait to return!

Omni Amelia Island

We’ve been here twice while on business and love this place. Pluses are that the rooms are only a few hundred feet from the beach, have wonderful views, and the resort has wonderful location, pools, jacuzzies and restaurants. We especially liked the buffet at the Sunrise cafe. Must have eaten a half pound of lox the first day and the service was excellent. (Thanks Joseph!) The resort (~1,400 acres) raises it’s own beef, honey, etc.
The cons are that this place is expensive. Don’t be fooled by the listed rate. Resort fees, taxes, and whatever else they can think of, add about another 25% to the rate. Also, based for instance on the fact it was a challenge to get the front desk to answer a phone call or to get dinner service even though there were plenty of empty tables, the place appears to have been seriously understaffed. However, these issues were minor relative to the pluses. This is an unusually beautiful, comfortable, and elegant place and the staff, even though occasionally hard pressed, were friendly and did an exceptional job.

The car line to check in was very long.
At arrival I noticed lots of rust on railings outside and the building is in need of fresh paint
The rooms have outside corridors which tends to give it a motel feel.
The conference meeting area was nice, but food was mediocre.
The pool area was very nice. A QR code was attached to each chair for poolside menus. There was wonderful live steel drum music played in the background one day. Pool and beach towels were provided along with cold water with cups. Cabanas and covered pool loungers were available for rent along with beach chairs. We ordered a burger and grilled cheese with fruit for lunch. When the food arrived we had no untensils or way to eat the fruit. I asked the server to bring something to eat the fruit with and he brought a bamboo skewer. We never got napkins. The food was really good though. We also ordered key lime pie and banana pudding dessert which were both great. We did get a plastic cutlery set with dessert. Occasionally there was an announcement about games by the pool. We ate at the Falcon's Nest and had great service from Jon. We loved the aviation theming of the restaurant but the food was just mediocre. We got the prime rib special and it had no flavor to it. The tram took us there and back which was really nice. We had dinner at Oceanside and it was a bust other than the key lime pie. I specifically told our server that I couldn't have spinach on my salad. When the salad came out it did have spinach on it. He offered to have it redone and then when I got the replacement salad it had no shrimp. The service was very slow despite many servers just standing around. My husband was disappointed with his fried shrimp and French fries also. We tried the pizza ace Natural Slice on our last night and even that was a disappointment. The pizza wasn't very good and the ordering process seemed very chaotic with people standing around all over the place in no apparent line. We wanted to get dessert, which were just freezer popcicles and even trying to purchase those was an ordeal. Check out was a breeze! We called bell services to get the luggage and bring the car around and they came immediately and the car was waiting when we got down there.

We stayed here for one night and were very underwhelmed! I understand a lot of the issues may be due to the coronavirus but one thing I definitely think needs attention is the cleanliness. The shower in our room looked so dirty there was no way I would step into it. There were dirty towels outside on the boardwalk to the beach that were there from the night before and never cleaned up. We had two big bags of dirty laundry in front of 2 different rooms that we walked past several times and were never collected. They were still sitting outside the rooms the following morning. We had dinner at the restaurant by the pool which was closed at the time and there were numerous empty and half filled glasses and cans of beer on the ledge of the pool that were never cleaned up and were still there when we finished dinner. It was dark when we left the restaurant and the lighting had several lights burned out as it was very difficult to see and maneuver up and around all of the steps. Cleanliness needs to be the focus of everyone right now and I found this very lacking. Many of the restaurants were closed because of the circumstances and there was only one choice the night were there. The resort is quite far from anything else so it is not easy to just drive somewhere else. Breakfast choices are very limited. We had the choice of getting something and taking it back to our room or taking the shuttle to another restaurant somewhere else. We opted to checkout and leave. To pay $17 for French toast or $14 for a paper cup with oatmeal with no where to eat but your room just wasn’t a good option. Our room was about a 10 minute walk from the lobby. I believe the $30 per night resort fee should be reduced right now since a lot of the amenities are not available. On the plus side, the resort is very pretty even with the artificial flowers in the pots around the resort (and yes, they do look fake!), the view from our room was beautiful as was the sunrise and we had a great dinner in the Oceanview Restaurant. A little expensive but still very good. Overall, we were disappointed.

Omni Amelia Island sent us an invitation for VIP package Fish to Fork 2020. Beware the offer states that it includes waived resort fee and oceanfront rooms starting at 2708.00 for three nights. In reality the rooms are oceanview and resort fee is not waived. When questioned, they admit to the mistake but will not honor what they advertised. Makes you wonder what else they may arbitrarily exclude from the VIP offer. Very disappointed in Omni. We've never been to this location and decided it was too much of a risk/cost/night and cancelled.

I'll start by saying we've been wanting to visit Omni Amelia Island for some time but never got around to it with our travels. Thanks to Covid we were able to make it happen for our anniversary.

I read all the reviews before booking and for the life of me can't figure out why people say the rooms are outdated and the entrance (motel style as the say) is dirty. I didn't witness any of this. I will add I am a hotel snob! We checked in on Aug 16th and stayed four nights. Lobby is beautiful and clean and everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were "Covid Safe." You catch an elevator off the lobby and find yourself outside to enter your room (I guess this is motel style for most - eyeroll). We stayed in Room 465 with a pool/ocean view. It was updated with beautiful beach feel. Furniture looked new to us and room seemed freshly painted (tan and light blue) Both the room and bathroom were very clean to us. Beautiful view of the ocean front and a nice balcony to sit on each day/night with amazing views. I did not feel like we were in a motel at all. I get people don't like the outside entrance to their room but seriously!!! Disney even has outside room entrances from some of their best hotels.

Both pools were great and they had great service if you wanted a drink or food. We do not drink so we did not utilize the bars, but we did order food. The tacos were great! Pricey but what do you expect when your ordering from a hotel restaurant on vacation!

We rented bikes and had a great time exploring the ground an some of the private neighborhoods on the other side of A1A. Did not feel the bikes were old and junky either. Ours seemed in good shape for beach bikes and worked just great over the 20miles we rode them.

Property grounds were well maintained and they always had workers out picking up trash, fixing pool chairs, collecting dirty towels, etc.
Restaurants on site could stay open longer. Most closed by 8pm with one or two open until 10pm. Wish the stores were open later also. Especially the Merchentile where you get snacks and drinks. Would have been nice if they stayed open until at least 10pm versus 5pm.

Other then that we had a fantastic time and can't wait to return with friends!!

Visited for 3 nights. We were given bad advice at check in and put in a room that was a hike from the pool and lobby. Had to move to another room to get a little closer. The Bellhop was extremely helpful in that move.

The lock on the sliding door to the balcony got stuck and could not be unlocked. Maintenance came and said the rollers were bad and that you needed to push hard on the top of the door to lock or unlock it. Then we discovered the shower leaked. We called the hotel operator and left a message for maintenance, but we don't think anyone looked at the leak, and the leak continued.

Overall, the room and the property are very worn and tired and far below what I understood the reputation of Omni and this resort to be.

Drink and wine prices in the main bar were extremely high. We felt like you get charged for just about anything you do at this resort - you don't seem to get much of anything for free in return for their daily resort fee.

We made reservations for a party of ten for brunch in a resort restaurant through the guest service desk. Got a text that the reservation was for 7 and had to call to get it corrected.

On arriving I asked how far the self parking garage was and was told it was 800 yards away, so I opted for valet parking instead of self parking. I later learned the self parking garage was only about a 3 minute walk. The Valets could not find my car the first time I requested it and I had to get a ride with someone else and wonder whether Omni had lost my car (they figured out where the car was later).

Online checkout showed no amount on our final bill and thus was worthless. Had to go to the front desk and wait in line to check out. I later discovered that I had been overcharged on the valet parking and had to call Omni to get that corrected.

In addition to being old and tired, the resort just is not run like a first class resort.

I don't understand why room housekeeping is done only once every three days due to Covid. Staff was required to wear masks, but guests were not. Either there is a Covid problem and everyone should be required to wear masks. Or if Covid is not a serious enough issue to require guests to wear masks, then that should not be used as an excuse to not have daily housekeeping. It seemed the Omni used Covid as an excuse to save on the cost of daily housekeeping services.

We loved Amelia Island, but we would not recommend this resort to anyone else.

Stayed at the hotel of the resort. Before arriving, I verified that resort restaurants were open as usual, room service was offered as usual, and that the rooms were cleaned everyday. The website even boasted of the extra precautions being taken due to Covid-19. At check-in, it was obvious the staff was clueless except the did know room service was not being offered. We arrived at our room to find the bathroom floors and tub covered in hair and dirt. Our balcony had dried food scattered all around, such as dried pretzels, lime slices, and cigar butts. I complained to the front desk only to be told that they were not really doing any room cleaning.. Just sheets and towels. I requested the room to be cleaned. The next day after requesting our room to be cleaned 4 different times, the maids finally arrived only to make the bed and leave fresh towels. No actual cleaning. The only positive regarding the Omni at Amelia is the staff is nice. They don't do anything other than act nice but if you run a unclean and unorganized resort, at least have a friendly staff. Below are lovely pictures of our balcony as it was upon arrival.

The pool and beach access really save this property because it is completely overpriced. Our room was fine, but nothing about it was exceptional. Our view was "beach view", but it's really just a corner of the beach and mainly a view of the hotel across the way. It's a motel style room with a balcony for $250 night and you have to pay for a "resort charge".

The drinks at the pool are good, but very overpriced. We thoroughly enjoyed Marché Burette and the Falcon's Nest, but the third night felt there was nowhere else we wanted to eat, so we left the property for dinner. This was due to Natural Slice and Bob's Steakhouse not being open every night.

With valet, we paid $300 per night, including taxes, for a king bedroom, which included a Sunday special rate.

The complimentary lounge chairs and umbrellas really made this trip well worth the money. We would return for this service alone. This is an amenity I hope they never get rid of! You could rent a "nicer" umbrella and/or a cabana, but a simple pair of lounge chairs with a shared umbrella was complimentary. We spent one entire day lounging by the beach. This was the highlight of our trip, and is probably what will bring us back.

We were guests in this hotel in February 2021 and November 2020 and were very pleased on both occasions. The views were beautiful, the staff attentive and we enjoyed the shopping on and off site. Consequently we booked two trips in May. We checked out today and we will cancel our next reservation.
On our previous visits the room was made up every day. Their new policy is to only make up the room every three days and the quality of the staff in housekeeping had deteriorated. At $500 per night plus a resort fee and a valet parking charge they need to offer first class service. You should not have to argue with them for 20 minutes to get a room serviced.
We are canceling our next stay and booking with the Ritz two miles down the beach.
