The staff were very friendly but the motel was not up to my standards. Dirty carpet, ceiling fan looked like it had not been cleaned in months. Minimal cable package & the small above ground 3’ 8” deep pool wis sandwiched between another property and behind the restaurant which sits between the motel and the beach.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay with us, Ten155! It looks like we fell short of your expectations this time around. We have been affected by the same short staffing as the rest of the nation. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hosting you again in the future. ~Jessie

I had reasonably high hopes for this beachfront weekend getaway with my husband. We started off very disappointed on the day we checked in. First they were completely understaffed. The young lady who was working did an exceptional job trying to do the work of 5 people, but she literally had to be front desk check-in, room maintenance (sink was broken), housekeeping, and answer phones. All on a busy holiday weekend. The room was subpar. The bathroom had mildew all around the tub. The sofa was loud and squeaky. Neither of the TVs worked. The lone young lady from the front desk came up and tried to get them to work but was only able to "reset the channels" but even then, only about 30% of the channels worked on the "cable tv". The walls are PAPER thin, and if you're near the elevator, you can forget having a good night's sleep. We could hear every door close, every ding of the elevator, every crying child. On day 2, redemption arrived. There was far more staff on-site and they were awesome. Friendly, helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was hot and tasted good, with enough reasonable options. It was included so nothing to complain about. The best things about this place are the location and the staff (when they're here), but I've paid less and gotten FAR better beachfront accommodations. For the small, mediocre room, I would probably not stay here again unless it was at a well discounted rate. (And someone needs to give Jacqueline at the front desk a raise. We found out she was pulling a double because somebody called out. Shame on management for not stepping in and being on-site to assist.)

My wife and I booked a 3 night stay for our wedding anniversary. The location here is great because you have the beach right behind the property. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They aren't cleaning the rooms during your stay still due to Covid but you can still request fresh towels down at Reception. Breakfast was ok. Your typical fare except there were two ladies making your waffles or preparing your biscuits and gravy. There was always coffee. Muffins weren't very good. Breakfast was available from 7am until 10am which is a good range. Our room was pretty small but the ac worked ok. Bed was very uncomfortable if you have back issues. Bathroom needed updating. 3 cracked floor tiles and corroded shower door. Always had enough hot water. The rooms aren't well insulated. You can hear people next door, in the hallway, and upstairs. Bring a white noise machine or leave the bathroom exhaust fan running to help a bit. There was a mini fridge also. I would say based on the nearby competition these rooms are overpriced however you are paying for the location. Also note that their beach is also at a public beach access point so you'll have to walk down to the South (right) more with all your stuff in order to find a good spot due to it being very crowded right behind the hotel. Watch out for dog poop when walking down to the beach area as there are many irresponsible pet owners that don't pick up after their pets.

Pros: Check in was smooth and staff was very friendly. Served a nice breakfast, free parking (is a tad tight), beach is out the back door, nice outside seating areas Cons: rooms are SO small for a high price (I had a hotel room in NYC that was bigger and those are always tiny), you don't get a full ocean view there is a restaurant blocking view, beds are not very comfy and it was a full size, we couldn't turn the ceiling fan on because it wasn't balanced, tiny TV in the tiny room, they closed the roof top deck at dusk (no one told us this) but it has fences a good 10 feet from edge so view isn't great, we got locked out because none of the outside card readers work the guy at the front saw us sitting outside and we told him he said it was an issue but still locked the door behind him - they had Ring doorbells that only one worked so we had to walk around the building to find one that worked to get inside I will not return to this hotel nor would I recommend it to fellow travelers. One night in that tiny shoe box was enough for me!

We just stayed at the Seaside Amelia Inn on 4/5-4/8 with a total of 8 people, two of those being teenaged/pre-teen children. We were so pleasantly surprised at how much we loved the property! Yes, it needs some updating and TLC in places (think some blinds may not all be working, just a little drab with decor, may need a deeper clean occasionally in some of the showers, all very minor!), but for a beach vacation, it was perfect! The location cannot be beat! It is RIGHT on the beach with a private boardwalk down or you can use the public access that partners to the left of the property. They also have a cute little rooftop area to take a break or eat on! There is a fabulous little beach restaurant right in front of the hotel on the beach side called The Sandbar (food was great!), where you can walk on over and get a table in the sand to grab lunch or drinks at during the day! There is also an awesome restaurant across the street called Salt Life with fabulous outdoor seating options, but be prepared for a wait. The hotel is a straight shot drive to downtown Fernandina, about 1.5 miles to all of the cute shops and awesome restaurants! Peppers, Burlingame, and the Salty Pelican were some of our favorites! The historic buildings are beautiful, too! There is also a state park within walking distance of the hotel on that same main road. Parking is limited, but we had no problems with the under building parking or the little lot that sits in front of the entrance. You cannot park in the public parking overnight, so I wouldn’t recommend super huge vehicles like larger trucks (we all had bigger SUVs). While the hotel asks that you wear a mask with signage, they do not enforce or say anything if you are not, which we weren’t thrilled with. Most of the time you don’t have to worry since you’re outside at the beach, but we wouldn’t share elevators with others and chose to take the stairs when we could. The staff, especially the breakfast crew and Mrs. Jean were AMAZING! The breakfast is fabulous, with their choices (bacon, sausage, eggs, grits, hashbrowns, etc.) and the walk up, order, and they package it to go fresh for you! I have dietary allergies and those sweet ladies made me my own meal every single morning and I could not be more thankful! You can request to rent chairs and umbrellas at least 24 hours ahead of time and that was awesome to walk out to and have all set up in the mornings! All in all, I would highly recommend and stay here again!
