Ivey House is nicely located for exploration of the western Everglades and is within a short walk of an excellent restaurant (Camellia St. Grill) that serves stone crab and other local specialties. But we were very disappointed in the quality of the Ivey House rooms, considering the price. We also got the impression that this hotel's "greenness" is more of...

We spent one night at the Ivey house on our way from the east coast to the west. The room is a bit dark and small. It initially smelled of perfume which is usually used to cover up a mildewy smell, eventually the mildew was noticeable. THe bed was quite hard and could almost feel the springs. No microwave. wireless...

Our hotel rooms in the Inn are spacious, but due to hurricanes in our area the building code required us to have small hurricane proof windows in this new section. To deal with the small window issue we have provided several lamps in the room, built in lamps over the beds, and one in the ceiling fan. The rooms are...

We spent three nights here to on our "trip to the Everglades" from California. Keep in mind that Everglades National Park is approachable from several different points and this is just one of them. For my money, you will see a lot more of what's worth seeing in the Everglades if you approach the Southern part from Florida City, a...

You are situated right where you need to be, when you stay in The Ivey House. It´s close to all the activities you need and they arrange quite a few of them themselves. We went on the kayak tour in the mangroves with them and it was great!! Rooms are good and breakfast is very nice and plentiful. Make sure...

We stayed at the Ivey House for 1 night during December, 2010. We were very impressed with its cleanliness and love the fact that they're making every effort to be GREEN! The staff was so friendly, so helpful, and so knowledgeable of the surrounding areas. We went on the morning kayaking trip through the Everglades (with Dee as our guide)....

We had great service. The continental breakfast (included) had a wide variety of options. Box sandwich lunches were an option if you were going to spend the whole day in the Everglades, and they were great. Our room (two double beds, tv, desk, two dressers, closet, private bath) was a good size and clean. There was a pool in the...

We stopped at Ivey house on our way to the East coast and were sorry that we couldn't stay longer. We stayed in the "Lodge" which has shared baths and living room. Our room was just fine with a Queen and plenty of space. Absolutely spotless in both private and public areas. Fantastic value! They also have the "Inn" with...

As soon as we had checked in, my first words were "That was the most friendly welcome I have EVER had at a hotel"!! And it just got better from there... to cut a long story short we were booked in for two nights before we went elsewhere in Florida.. but when we got to our second destination, we missed...

After a business conference in Miami area, rented a car and drove the pleasant 2 hours to Everglades City. Had an end of the road, "out there" quality, but with enough services to make it enjoyable. (Though no place to eat after 9 p.m. except the convenience store.) Ivey House is perfectly situated (a hop away from the convenience store!)...
