We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in January 2011. We were most impressed, the room was a good size, the extra bed was ready. The orientation given by the staff for both the hotel and the town were excellent, likewise the recommendation for what was available as trips to do with the children. We really had...

My friend & I were in need of a nice place to stay in Everglades City after spending the day birding. The Ivey House is quaint and the folks are quite friendly. Unfortunately our room had a strong smell of a floral air freshener or cleaning product. The windows would not open so we had to prop open the door....

What is there to add? This is a first rate hotel, well-run and friendly. It is not pretentious but everything is done thoughtfully from the hall doors which close quietly to the comfortable rooms and nicely presented and more than adequate breakfast. We would return if we were ever in the area again.

We enjoyed our stay at Ivey House. It was quiet, peaceful. I was able to enjoy painting in the inside swimming area in such a pleasant environment. The plants and other folige was wonderful for my purpose. We definitely would return to Ivey House if in the area again.

Service is wonderful, rooms are nice. Breakfast is generous and good. The front desk will refer you to the best places to eat--we liked Camellia Street Grill--and the hotel runs wonderful kayak tours. I'm very glad we stayed there. Do be prepared: There's nothing in Everglades City except the perfect place to base your explorations of the Everglades. Oh, and...

This was an experience I want to forget. Warning to the Un-Advised: the trip at twilight, paddling into the everglades, is not for the faint of heart exertion wise. You are paddling one and a half miles in, one and a half miles out. Our guide FORGOT our headlights, and it is pitch black, and we are paddling through the...

Every year many guests accidently leave some of their belongings behind in our kayaks, canoes, dining room, pool area or rooms. Our policy is when any of our employee’s find belongings left by guests they are to take them to the front desk immediately. The Front Desk Staff logs the item into our computerized property management system and then places...

Ivey House is nicely located for exploration of the western Everglades and is within a short walk of an excellent restaurant (Camellia St. Grill) that serves stone crab and other local specialties. But we were very disappointed in the quality of the Ivey House rooms, considering the price. We also got the impression that this hotel's "greenness" is more of...

We spent one night at the Ivey house on our way from the east coast to the west. The room is a bit dark and small. It initially smelled of perfume which is usually used to cover up a mildewy smell, eventually the mildew was noticeable. THe bed was quite hard and could almost feel the springs. No microwave. wireless...

Our hotel rooms in the Inn are spacious, but due to hurricanes in our area the building code required us to have small hurricane proof windows in this new section. To deal with the small window issue we have provided several lamps in the room, built in lamps over the beds, and one in the ceiling fan. The rooms are...
