There is no reception, you have to pick up the key at another location and get the key only after 16:00 h. The room looked okay, but already at the opening of the door you met a very unpleasant smell, which unfortunately did not volatile, hard to breathe. The air conditioning was full of bugs and several mosquitoes were in the room. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked at every turn. It was impossible to get any sleep or to recover. The price for the terrible night is outrageous - never again!

It was clean, and roomy, and plenty of dresser drawers for myself and two sisters. There is no internet, which was disappointing, because I had work to do. But ... we booked it because it said there was a kitchenette. So we brought our own food to have breakfasts and snacks in the room, while exploring nearby nature adventures. But, we did not get a sink or counter in our room. Yet the rooms around us all had a sink and kitchen area, with microwave and shelving overhead. We paid the same rate. I mentioned this as we were checking out, not realizing it until then when we saw the staff cleaning the rooms adjacent to ours. Was told management would contact us, but they never had. Think it was misleading to book a room with only half a kitchenette - frig & microwave. No sink.

We enjoyed our stay here. With that said- realize that the hotels and other lodgings in Everglades City are not “fancy”- if you are looking for a higher end lodging- you are better served booking up in Naples. This hotel checked off all the boxes- clean, comfortable, convenient. It’s an old motor court- so you literally park right outside the door. This motel is part of a 4/5 motel group- you check in down the road about 1/4 mile at the Ivy House. But, it was well communicated- and quite easy (staff there were super nice and helpful). They communicate an emergency number as well.

The rooms are done in very good taste. They need hooks for towels in the bathroom and the fan is very laud and in the same switch. The internet didn’t work. They sent someone but no results. Very clean and nice but expensive for a motel. The entire industry has gotten out of control not just here.

The staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Check-in was easy. The other rooms at Everglades City Motel appeared more conventional from the outside. My comments are applicable specifically to Room 22. It is terrible. Where to begin? Imagine that you are in sunny Florida for a few days and your room has no window. That is not an exaggeration. Room 22 has NO window. There is what appears to have been intended as a walk-in closet about 4' x 4'. But there is no closet rod. Just walls. Perhaps you could store your luggage there. But it would not be very convenient as there is no dresser. The room is narrow, and as mentioned, windowless. Interestingly the outside wall has TWO windows that have been covered on the inside. One is where a shower has been installed. The other is roughly over the bed. The bed. That is a story in itself. Advertised as a "standard room with queen bed", the room meets no reasonable standards. But for the moment let me focus on the bed. I will say the mattress was comfortable. Quite firm as I prefer. The bed itself was something between a bad joke and a device of torture. The bed frame was made of sheet metal and goes all the way to the floor. Perhaps it is for storage, but one kicks it frequently and it rings as sheet metal will. The platform under the mattress must also be sheet metal. Sit down and it booms. Stand up and it booms. Roll over and it booms. I suspect one would have to be deaf to enjoy a night of romance on that bed. It is not possible to reach a light-switch from the doorway so entering the room after dark is a bit hazardous. It is a step UP to enter the room, and the floor is quite slanted inside the door, perhaps 30 degrees. This is extraordinarily dangerous for for anyone, but for an elderly person or someone using a cane or a walker it would impossible. Thee was certainly no warning of this hazard when making my reservations. The room and the motel in general looked as though it had been updated. Management for the motel s now handled at the nearby Ivey House. I expect that Room 22 was partitioned off the old office. Previously it may have been storage, but a shower was added in an effort to monetize the space. But a windowless cell, it is better suited to be a storm shelter. And the work done inside the room shows a complete lack of effort or pride. The paint trim might have been done by a school child. The drywall work was no better. The wires for the TV an cable were hung in a knot, and the power cord for the AC ran up the wall. A few bucks in trim would have made the wiring look much better. The AC was very loud, but I think I have made the point. To be clear, I can not say anything about the other 20-some rooms but I am only reviewing Room 22.Th

Walking in the door we knew our room had been recently renovated. The brightly lit room was nicely decorated with all new amenities that included a sink, countertop ands new AC system. The bathroom was newly tiled and the shower was hot with good pressure. Beds were comfortable. We liked being able to park in front of our room. Check in and check out we’re off site but quick and easy. There was wifi but it was not great. The ‘city’ is small and quiet with several places to eat. If you are heading to this area do not hesitate to stay here.

We spent three nights over Christmas week at the motel, and it worked out fine. Super easy in/out. The room was clean, the beds and pillows comfortable, and the bathroom fine. Certainly a basic 1970's style motel with updated furniture and appliances. Next door to Island Cafe, which was super convenient, good, and economical. If you stay in the Motel, you can show your key and get a 10% discount on your meal. The only reason I gave it a "3" was the wifi not working. It's a good, simple choice if you're visiting the Glades.

I stayed here five nights and it was the perfect place to stay while exploring the Florida Everglades. I had a suite which was large and very clean. Indoor swimming pool was large and wonderful. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay there again. The staff was very friendly and helpful - and they actually did me a huge favor when I was faced with a flight issue. Wonderful stay!

This motel was just what we were looking for...it was quiet and very clean with a very modern bathroom. Since we were arriving late, the staff called and left information about after-hours check-in, which was very helpful. Beds were comfortable. There is a nice restaurant next door, and others are located within walking distance.

Room was clean, so was bathroom. Bed was okay. Restraunt next door is good food, we ate there breakfast , lunch and dinner. They have outdoor seating, with kids size picnic tables. You have to drag your chairs from in front of your room if you want to sit under awning
