Nice resort on the Jebel Shams plateau. Nothing special though, different room options in chalets and fixed tents. Swimming pool and volleyball field, a few pick-nick tables, mountain bikes for use. Breakfast and dinner buffets were good, the standard Omani dishes: meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, rice, salad, hummus… rooms were clean and spacious, staff was friendly and helpful. Starting point...

We opted to stay in the tents, they don't look anything special from the outside, but inside they are clean and spacious with 2 small doubles, table and chairs, we had 2 air conditioning units, not sure if they could heat as well but early April we were just right without either. There is a firepit outside each property, we...

It was a weekend visit. I booked the sunset villa. It was decent and had a small sit out with a fire place overlooking the ranges. Beautiful sunset view. The resort is kids friendly as there are swings and slides and swimming pool. The staff is friendly. But the food buffet needs a little more variety. All in all, enjoyed...

At first inspection the rooms are basic, a little shabby and could probably do with a good makeover - however, you are surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery and the way the resort is laid out, with firepits and the chance to camp in bedouin style tents, allows for an authentic and unique mountain experience. The buffet breakfast...

Booking 8 months ahead we couldn't get a booking in a 'Sunset Chalet' and when we did stay we realised that these rooms are likely as not reserved for groups. Staying in a 'Private Chalet' we found that the accommodation wasn't really up to standard. Only twin beds were available, no shower curtain round the shower so the whole bathroom...

We loved the stay there, especially the location, which was just beside the canyon. We had chosen the Sunset Chalets. We could see the sunset from our room seated on the sofa. That itself was very fulfilling. They had also set up a bench behind every chalet where the guests can enjoy the view. We did! The resort is the...

Spend one night here, for trekking. Resort is really nice, stuff was friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were very good. They organised a pick up from the end of the tarmac road for 10 OMR each way. But it's also possible to go without 4x4, when it doesn't rain.

We stayed at this resort atop Oman's highest peak. Some of our friends pitched their tents on the camping grounds and braved the 2degC temperature. We booked the private chalet but was upgraded to sunset chalet. The property is clean and you can see that it still has a lot of potential for development. What I liked: spacious rooms, with...

Stayed with friends (had four children in all) ages 5 to 8) from booking, check-in and till the end had a fabulous stay. This place seems impossible top of mountain everything needs to be trucked in including water. When you consider that the place is just amazing! They are incredibly child friendly, great food and a playground. The tents are...
