Stayed at Sunburst for the third time in the past 3 years. Previously stayed in the immaculate gulf facing #121, then another unit (the # escapes me) and then this year in #124. Love Manasota Key! Here’s the info on this trip: Location: this gulf side unit was up a short flight of stairs, with one unit above you. No outside space or view of gulf. But you are less than a mile’s walk to 3 or 4 nice restaurants, as well as a small convenience store. Plus the beach is 50 yards away, and Lemon Bay just across the only real road on Manasota Key! In short, great location. Check-in /out : collect keys and all info from the managing agent estate agency, which is really close to the apartments, also on Manasota Key. 5 minutes and we were good to go. Unit: Large and clean, maybe 900 sq ft. Aircon is central, there are 2 TVs, a king bedroom, and 2 inter-leading bathrooms that share a shower. No bath. There is also another single bed area that can be screened off. Keurig, dish washer, microwave, large fridge. Plenty of pots, pans, glasses, cutlery etc. However the unit really needs renovation! Stove is antique, kitchen units old, lounge and dining room very worn and dated furniture. Also the vertical blinds need servicing, and are not really working 100%- with some slats missing! It’s also worth noting it has none of the little touches we so liked about the other units we stayed in. No condiments or basics in the kitchen, no spare toilet paper, no soap, no dishwasher powder. Empty. Also no beach chairs or umbrellas that some other units provide. Parking: your carport is directly under the unit and easily accessed. Wi-Fi: a few options are available, all okay. However reception is not great and speed is bit slow at times. Noise and cleanliness: no complaints. Public areas spotless, no noise could be heard in the unit. Value: I’d say the unit is fairly priced, but not cheap or a bargain. I do believe there are units that are in far better shape and upgraded in Sunburst Condos. That said, we love Manasota Key and will come again!

We spent a week in Unit 111. This unit has a deck which faces the gulf. Life doesn’t get much better looking at the beautiful blue ocean and sunsets every evening. The unit’s kitchen was just updated and has everything you would need. The unit was clean, smelled good, and was comfortable. No musty smells in this unit. The complex is well maintained with nice outdoor seating areas with gas grills. The heated pool is on the other side of the complex. It looked nice but we didn’t use it. Hard to leave the beach. Laundry is not in the units but in a common area. It is coin operated and doesn’t have machine to make change. Nice to have parking under the units. We would recommend this complex and definitely this unit.

Such a perfect location for a getaway. We had a fabulous, gulf side unit, with a balcony overlooking the ocean (Unit 211). The sunsets were magical and all we had to do was step out onto the balcony or onto the beach to view them. We could also walk across the street to the bay side and watch the sun come up in the morning. another beautiful sight. We also used the pool on that side on occasion. The unit was very clean and had had everything we needed. (We've actually stayed in Unit 111 as well, with the same results.) The brand new gas grills were a great addition. I have stayed here a few times in the past. Always on the gulf side, with a balcony and it's truly like being in heaven. We're already looking forward to returning next year.

We have stayed at Sunburst 3 times, twice in this gulf front unit, and once in a unit one back from the beach. My review is of our most recent stay (current). Upon arriving, the AC pretty much stopped working the first day, coming back after dinner it was 81 degrees. We reset the breaker, changed the batteries in the thermostat, nothing. Once it reached 83, it kicked back on and our night was ok. We left a message for management (a Saturday), resisted calling the AC company listed on the thermostat, it wasn't really an emergency, just uncomfortable. No contact on Sunday. Monday, we walked over to the office, "Oh I was just ready to contact you, the AC folks will be there within the hour (noon)." At about 5 pm, we called again, "Oh they are on their way will be there within an hour and a half." Cut to the chase, the AC repair folks found the drain clogged, but it was because the filter was filthy and had not been changed in a long time. Low and behold, the management said they had sent a guy around to change AC filters in all units today, but not ours. Whoops. Aside from the dated decor, the bathroom fans that sound like a plane taking off, and the refrigerator that sounds like a jackhammer, I'm not sure we are coming back, at least not to this unit. The view is great, the master bed is comfortable, the unit is well stocked with most things you would need to cook any meal. The location is great to walk to the restaurants and convenience store. We were told there was a management change, I hope so. Have had nice times here, but it's just not as nice as it was and we are not particularly happy about how the AC issue was addressed.

Response from Resort2450, Owner at Sunburst Condominiums
Responded Dec 13, 2016
Thanks for staying in 211 Sunburst again. We are so sorry about the AC problem you encountered. As the owners we are always available for emergency calls/emails when the office is closed. When we arrived in November to make updates and repairs we did have another HVAC company out to diagnose the problem. As a result the coils were cleaned which improved the performance greatly. The unit also had a deep cleaning then and several updates including a new 55 inch flat screen tv in the living room and all new bedding and linens. The unit is very popular and receives a lot of families renting over the summer so in the future we plan on having the deep cleaning and updates/repairs made sooner after the summer vacationers so it will be in better shape for our fall guests. Thank you again for taking the time to post your review. We hope you return to enjoy the unit's spectacular Gulf and Beach view and hopefully find that the unit is again as nice as it was from your previous stays.

We stayed here for a week in unit 121. It was amazing! The unit is on the Gulf side so the sunsets were lovely. This unit is stocked with everything you need! It was neat and clean and very comfortable. The pool was on the bay side and very clean as well. There was a nice dock that we enjoyed fishing from. The neighbors were friendly and quiet. They had grills with plenty of gas and very nice out door eating area. I would highly recommend this condo and this particular unit.
