Located in the heart of Englewood, Sun Life Beach Hotel offers comfortable efficiencies, two rooms suites and double bed suites, 1 mile from the beach and at affordable prices. Recently renovated, our hotel rooms are impeccable clean, smoke free, and nicely decorated, with beautiful outdoors areas and a gorgeous swimming pool to relax after a day at the beach. Our efficiencies have a king bed and a fully equipped kitchenettes with full size appliances, dinning area for two and love seats. Our double bed rooms have two queen beds, love seats, mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker, We also have a two rooms suite with 3 queen beds, kitchenette, 2 TV's areas, sofa, 2 bathrooms- We have weekly, daily and monthly rentals all year long. ALL OUR UNITS ARE SMOKE AND PET FREE (PETS ARE NOT ACCEPTED)

This was the first time at this hotel. It is quaint and easy to locate. The owner is very nice and helpful. We bought prepared food from a nearby grocery store to eat in our room, which had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and enough dishes for us. The decor is beachy, but not overdone. The only drawback was it is difficult to get in and out of the parking lot with the location very near the stoplight. Not a big deal! Very near the beach area and restuarants. We will consider this hotwl on the next visit, but will be sure to reserve in advance because it seems to fill up!

A big shoot out to Anna and her husband. I was so impressed from the moment I arrived. Talk about CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. I was there for 3 nights and really wish I had more time. My room was spotless, you can tell they take alot of pride in their property and sincerely care about their guests. We have several friends that have company come to the area and are always looking for a nice place to stay. I have informed them that they would be very pleased to have them stay here. I can't wait to return! Thank you again for such a nice place to stay.

This was a nice place to stay on my recent visit and I'd definitely stay there again. The rooms were clean and very well appointed - I had a king room with kitchenette and the kitchen was stocked with all the dishes and utensils you would need - even a wine bottle opener and wine glasses! No stove, but I didn't need one, the microwave was sufficient for warming things up. The only thing missing was a light over the sink, but that was very minor, everything else was great.
Ana was a pleasure to deal with. She texted me to check on what time I would be arriving and texting a few times during my stay to see if I needed anything. Couldn't have been more accommodating. The rooms were very quiet - it's a small place with 8 rooms, but it was so nice to not be in a hotel with people banging around above me.
I would highly recommend staying here.

We booked this place based on the good rating and the description. It was supposed to be a well-equipped kitchenette, which turned out to be a sink, a microwave, and a refrigerator. No stove or even a hot plate. A draconian set of rules included "Visitors can only stay for a maximum of one hour and not after 7 PM." In a seaside community, we could not bring fish back to cook for dinner as the management claimed that a strong fish smell would render the unit unable to be rented for over a week, The kitchenette was an important consideration for us due to dietary considerations. There was inadequate lighting for the kitchen area. The place is on a busy roadway, and the tiny pool relaxation area is barely adequate. There is no clock in the unit.Etc., etc., etc.. While the manager is quite lovely and personable, the place does NOT live up to its description. We survived our stay, but we would not have booked into here had the truth be known.

Dear Mrs W, We have an "accurate list" of what is on our kitchenettes on our website under each room description, but you "did not read them" as you commented to me in the office. Our kitchenettes have a full size fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a toaster, dishes, silver, and sink.They are just designed for cold and microwave meals because we do not have an exhaust system in the kitchenette area. Our main goal is to provide our guests with a room that smells fresh and clean-no fish smell. You explained to me that you wanted to FRY fish inside the room and I told you that we supply an outdoor grill for such meals. I cannot sell a room to someone that when they open the door it smells like fish and you AGREED WITH ME during the conversation we had. I'm actually glad that you have posted this review so our future guests know that they cannot fry meats/seafood inside the rooms, the grease and smell will last for 2-3 weeks making the room uncomfortable for the next guest. Our rules are the same rules that all motels have in order to protect our other guests. If I allowed visitors late at night, our guests which are mainly seniors, will hate the noise and the late hour talking. Those rules are all based on our past guest's complaints. All we want is everyone happy and comfortable. If you want to bring people late at night and fry seafood inside the room, this is definitively not the place for you. When you write "we survived our stay" and "draconian" those are exaggerations and I'm very sorry that you chose those words. I sat on the office for half hour finding a place for you to buy prepared fish and also finding a place for your husband to go sing "open mic" and I toughed you were a very nice couple. My husband and I stayed at Sun Life Hotel with our one year old for two nights in January. The owners were so kind and hospitable, loaning us beach chairs and giving us recommendations for local beaches. We were very comfortable during our stay and enjoyed time in the pool, which was small but very clean. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette, which had a microwave, sink, coffee pot, and full size refrigerator, but no stove. (This wasn't an issue for us, since we didn't need one, but if you plan on cooking in your suite you might want to double check.) Everything was clean and nicely decorated, the bed was very soft (softer than we like, but that is just a personal preference). We will definitely stay here again, with their great rates and easy distance to the beaches. (about 5 minute drive)

I discovered Sun Life Beach Hotel a year ago when visiting the Englewood Fl area. My 2022 stay was so pleasant that I decided to stay here again in 2023, this time accompanied by my wife. This little hotel is perfect for couples or small families. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. My room was clean and comfortable. My wife does have a fragrance allergy which was aggravated by some sort of air or fabric fragrance in our room, but subsided after a day or so. As mentioned in other reviews, we did notice the king mattress in #7 was softer than our liking, but we made it work for a few days. We did not notice any road noise in #7, perhaps because it was muffled by the pool wall. The WIFI was strong, fast and dependable. Overall, I believe Sun Life Beach offers the best affordable accommodations in the Englewood area. Thank you Ana for another pleasant stay! We look forward to our next visit.

My in laws live in Port Charlotte and when we visit them we typically stay in the Hampton Inn. I went down to bring supplies and help with repairs to their house following hurricane Ian. I quickly found all the hotels were booked for the remainder of 2022. While searching just two days before leaving Alabama, I found this place had a new vacancy for just the days I was going to be there. I grabbed it and I am so happy I did. What a hidden gem. This will be our new go to place to stay, no more Hampton Inn. The owners are amazing. They make you feel very welcome and at home, checking on your needs throughout the stay. If you are like me and read reviews before you book a place, please do not pay attention to the very few negative reviews. These reviews are from people who do not read descriptions, are entitled, and cannot follow a few simple rules which are in place to keep the rooms pleasant for the next guest. And the one review stating they discriminate against vets is absolutely false. As a 24 year retired active duty vet, I can ensure you they treat everyone (including vets) with respect. Thank you for an amazing stay and allowing me to help my in laws get their place livable again. Hope to see you on our next visit.

This is a very quaint hotel. It’s like you have your own little apartment. I loved the beach themed decor. The kitchen dining room area has a full refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, plates, cups, eating utensils, and other things you may need. There is a small couch and tv. We had the room with a king sized bed. Very comfy. Plenty of space in the closet to hang your clothes. A nice pool area as well. The beach is just a few minutes drive from the hotel. We went to 5 different beach areas. We liked some better than others. McDonalds is right across the street. Publix, Walmart, Winn Dixie all close by. The only thing missing was an ice machine. Other than that this is the perfect vacation spot.

My husband and I would like to express our gratitude to Ana and Michael for the wonderful time that we had on our anniversary weekend. We enjoyed our stay at the property Sun Life Beach Hotel in Englewood FL; the hotel room was very nice, clean, the bed very comfortable, very affordable and a great location. The beach is less than five minutes away which by the way is very nice and has free parking. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. We will be back and definitely we will recommend this place to relax and have a nice time!

My wife and I have been to the Englewood beaches many times and being from Ohio we are always on the lookout for places to stay for the following summer. We always talked about staying at the Sun Life Beach Hotel and this trip we did just that. Great decision! The room was spotlessly clean and was just perfect for us. It’s a short drive to the beach and close enough to places to eat in the evening. The owners are super friendly and try very hard to make your stay enjoyable. There’s a pretty cool pool area and the covered porch outside your room is nice to sit and relax in the evening.

I will definitively try Gulf View Grill not just to eat but to watch the sunset from their top deck. We have a small breakfast place down the street called Old Time Diner that many of our guests recommend for breakfast.
There are more places to choose from in the Englewood area.
