My husband and I spent an absolutely wonderful three day weekend at the Meranova Inn a few days ago. It was to celebrate his 80th birthday. We stayed in the KeyWest Room and found it met all our needs and more. The king size bed was superbly comfortable with ample pillows, we had a full kitchen with snacks and Keurig machine with coffee pods and tea and sugars and creamers all there, and the bathroom was spotless with toiletries and fluffy towels and two comfy cotton bathrobes at our disposal. Two TVs--one in the bedroom and one in the living room-- had good reception. The pool was right outside our door. The town is lovely, and has a designated bike trail right through the middle of town, so one could ride a bike safely out of traffic's way. Each room as its own unique character, so check out the website and see the rooms before you decide in which one you want to stay.
We had breakfast right next door at the Wild Iris restaurant--so convenient. We also had dinner at AlFresco and found the meals and service very good. That, too, was within walking distance. We are Floridians, yet, this mini-getaway to Dunedin was a great way to celebrate, and we are pleased we did.
I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

We stayed in the Sea Star Apartment for one evening. The checkin process was contactless. Rooms are keypad entry & the code is given on arrival by text or call to JJ or Hanassa. They are very friendly & always readily available via text or calls. The apartment is entered through a quaint courtyard area. Our door opened into the kitchen with an oven/stove top, microwave, residential size refrigerator & coffee maker with coffee pods & tea bags. The glasses of Port wine & chocolates were a nice touch. The room then opened up into one long room. Bathroom, dining room, walk-in closet, living room & bedroom. Everything was clean, spacious & open with only a door on the bathroom. Would have liked a more separate bedroom area with a door & the bathroom closer. The king side bed was medium firm & very comfortable. Loved the choice of a soft or firm pillow. The bedroom is located Main Street side so we could hear the live band at a local restaurant. Thankfully they stopped performing at 10pm. Otherwise the room was very quiet. They thoughtfully placed a sleep machine & air purifier in the bedroom which helped to block out noise. Due to Covid they didn’t serve breakfast however the location is fantastic. We parked in the lot behind the hotel & never drove again as we were able to walk to shops, restaurants & breweries. On Friday & Saturday there is a nice farmers market steps away.

We were searching for a place to stay in Dunedin, that was not chain owned. There were listings for 2 B&B’s in the area. They both appeared to fit our needs, however as we dug deeper into the reviews it was apparent that the Meranova was much more accommodating to their guests! (Seriously, check out the BTW reviews to see their true colors for anyone leaving less than a stellar review - incredible) I digress. The Meranova Inn was clean & spacious. Our room had a full kitchen. Their king mattress and bedding were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to our room with a choice of 8 or 10:30am arrival. The room had a coffeemaker & coffee, toaster, and basic cooking needs. We arrived to glasses of brandy & brownies! There is a restaurant / bar across the street with live music that can be heard at a moderate level, not lasting too late. They have provided a sound machine, if needed. A small pool is on property. Our room also included a lounging area, table for two & 2 TV’s. The Pinellas trail is close by, as well as all the shops, restaurants and area activities. Those seeking to rent bikes may like the Racer Cafe a few blocks away. The Luck Lobster was another good find. This property is a gem & the owners very attentive to your requests!

So, I love and really appreciate this review but I gotta say we love our neighbors at BTW and are good friends. We both understand we fit guests needs differently, so don't count them out altogether. If you're a Veteran, for example, or would enjoy brewery tours with the owners, they are your people! They have a brand new place with very clean rooms and a beautiful property that they take great pride in, as well as we do. We've had some guests prefer BTW over us as well, so we get that not everyone will enjoy either place. Thank you for your detailed and stellar review of us! We are all about doing whatever we can to meet our guests needs for sure and have thought of many little in room touches that the big guys/chains don't care about. We have the best location of any hotel in town and gorgeous gardens that take a team of people to maintain! We also sell beer/wine and host gorgeous weddings/events on site too! Check us out on Facebook to see our latest brunch and event photos!

The Key West room was very nice. However, this is not a Bed and Breakfast as indicated on the website. There is no breakfast. Their idea of breakfast is to offer "discount" tickets to the restaurant next door for $30 for two. My wife and I had breakfast next door without their tickets and paid about $30 so their discount is no discount. The owners boast of contactless check-in and check-out. To us it seemed more like a lack of hospitality and graciousness. Part of the charm of staying at a B&B is to meet the owners and learn about the area from them.

My wife and I stayed at the Meranova about 5 years ago under the previous owners. The breakfasts were fabulous, served privately to us on the porch or gazebo. The owners were incredibly gracious and could not have been nicer. We don't buy the COVID excuse for lack of breakfast. Since it can be served privately it would be quite safe. Same applies to the contactless bit. One can wear a mask and stay 6 feet away and still show some hospitality.

I gave it 4 stars because the rooms are so nice, but the charm is gone. That's unfortunate. Again, it's not a B&B, only a Bed.

We live in St. Pete; 20 miles away. I chose this place to celebrate my husband's birthday weekend based on the excellent TA reviews and the fact that it was near as he hates driving in a car for hours. It was a perfect choice.

We had The Cottage which is very private. It was immaculate, everything in working order, and the kitchenette well stocked to prepare basic meals. NOTE: If you are staying in the cottage and are big ice users like us, be aware that it is a mini fridge with a small freezer compartment for only 2 ice trays. We had a cooler with us and would walk 5 minutes to the Natures Food Patch grocery store each morning to pick up a bag of ice which would last us until the next day.

What we found amazing was that either sitting on the cottage porch, under the gazebo or at the pool it felt like we were at a Guest House on a Caribbean Island due to all the tropical landscape. Yet, we were just one block away from the center of downtown Dunedin and a 10 minute walk down to the waterfront.

During our five night stay, we did a combination of dining at several excellent, nearby restaurants with outdoor patio seating and on other nights dinner delivery.

We take all Covid protection steps very seriously and so does Meranova. They do a fantastic job by providing contactless check-in, providing fresh linens at your door step along with any other supplies you might request and contactless check-out. Employees serving rooms between guests always had a mask on. The only disappointing thing, which we were made aware of at time of booking, was not being able to partake in the wonderful breakfasts we read about in prior reviews. Due to Covid, that's been suspended and understandably so.

My only suggestion to the owners is......get some comfortable chairs for the kitchen table. The narrow and hard metal backs and seats are most uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. Do that and we will change our 5 star rating to 10 star!

We spent last night at the Meranova Bed & Breakfast in the Zen Suite and the only thing wrong is that we were not able to spend more time. This B & B thought of everything for your convenience. There was a pitcher of cold, filtered water in the refrigerator along with creamer for your coffee. A one-cup Keurig machine with really nice coffee capsules, as well as all kinds of sugars, stirrers, teas, etc. was on the counter of the little kitchenette. The bathroom had body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers mounted on the wall of the shower, as well as wash cloths and packages of makeup remover wipes next to the bathroom sink.. And, on top of the nice little conveniences in the room, the property and the room was extremely clean and there was off street parking in the back or on the street in front. Plus, the location can't be beat. Park your car and walk to bars, restaurants and the marina. Book this property if you are in the area - you won't regret it!

We stayed in the Key West Apartment. It was clean and comfortable. The location is great and within walking distance to the Pinellas Trail, bike rentals, restaurants and other activities. The grounds of Meranova are lovely and well maintained. They have mastered "contactless check-in and out" but are readily available if needed. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon.

We were met when we arrived by the most gracious host. The brandy and a brownie offered on arrival was unique. Our room was spacious and clean with a gorgeous view overlooking the garden, where we took breakfast delivered to our room. Meranova is conveniently located to restaurants on the main street and a nice stroll to the marina and the Pinellas trail. A wine bar with live entertainment is just across the street. Even though close to a main drag the place is quiet and feels safe and secluded. Lovely!

This was our 2nd visit to the Meranova and just like the first, it was exceptional! We arrived to a lovely welcome basket of snacks and glass of wine. We stayed in the Key West suite and it was very cozy, it has a full kitchen with great amenities, there is a Keurig coffee maker and plenty of coffee pods for your stay, plenty of ice in the freezer. The king size bed was so comfortable, we slept great! Due to Covid they could not offer breakfast (bummer because our last stay was pre-Covid and the breakfast was amazing!) But there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and since we had the full kitchen in our suite, we did a small grocery shopping and it worked out great.

JJ and Hanassa were so easy to get in contact with, whenever we reached out with a text they responded right away.

Friends of ours decided to join us on our long weekend to Dunedin last minute, and unfortunately, the Meranova was sold out by the time they booked so they had to stay at another hotel. When they came to pick us up for dinner, they were super impressed at how quaint the property was and absolutely loved our room. We all sat out in the garden and had a cocktail and did some people watching before going to dinner it was such a nice time. The location can't be beat! It's right in the middle of everything but set back enough to feel so private.

Four of us have already booked our rooms for October (our friends booked right away, they didn't want to miss out again) and at least 2 more will be joining, we can't wait to go back!

**Our first stay in 2019 was in the Garden suite, such a cute room. It is smaller than the Key West but just as lovely and comfortable and the private porch on the Garden suite is perfect, I was torn when I booked my stay because we loved the Garden suite but wanted to try a new room and the Key West was fabulous.
We booked the Cottage suite for October, our goal is to stay in every one of the rooms :)
