#1 of 2 hotels in Duck Key
Midway down the Florida Keys, you’ll find an island called Duck Key. It’s small. Secluded. Yet central to Miami and Key West, and easy to reach by car, boat or plane. Duck Key has a few telltale Florida Keys features: Aquamarine water all around. Glorious sunrises and sunsets. An island sensibility that lulls you into a state of total relaxation – except for when you’re out fishing, snorkeling, paddleboarding or gliding along with the ocean breeze on a kiteboard. The best of the Keys is waiting for you at Hawks Cay Resort.

We absolutely loved our time at Hawks Cay! What a beautiful location with TONS to do for kids and adults. Andrew, Brett and the entertainment staff were amazing at keeping us all entertained and laughing and Grace at the kids center was lovely as well! I was surprised at the cost of things - as a friend stayed two years ago and paid half as much as we did to stay in the same villa- but I knew going in this would not be a cheap vacation. I will say, we ventured out to nearby Marathon ( 10 minutes South) for some meals and I’m so happy we did! The resort food was pretty good but options were limited and it was super expensive. Get a reservation for Angler and Ale because we were stuck in the back room the night we didn’t and it was super loud and echos back there! Also, we would choose a villa ( with water view) again because having a kitchen to cook in from time to time was amazing and we loved being away from the hustle and bustle of the resort at times. My husband and son had an epic fishing charter with Tarpon Time and we also did the dolphin experience ( can’t recommend it enough) and the snorkeling excursion arranged by the hotel as well. Overall, we had a wonderful time making memories as a family and I can’t wait to come back!

We could not agree with you more, Alley, as the memories that are made at Hawks Cay Resort are unparalleled! From swimming with the dolphins to an adventurous fishing adventure with one of our incredible Captains is always unique and fun! Be sure to bring your catch to Angler & Ale next time as they will gladly cook it for you with their Hook & Cook special! It's fantastic to read how comfortable you all were in our villas as they strive to provide the convenience of home, especially with the kitchens! I cannot wait to celebrate everyone for showing you the five-star service you deserve during your travels, especially Andrew, Brett, and Grace. We will all be eagerly awaiting your return so don't wait too long for your next family adventure!

We had been wanting to stay at Hawk’s Cay for a long while now but our plans always took us either to a different cay or other destinations. We were so glad we finally made it.We reserved directly with their reservations desk and our agent was superb. Our room had an amazing view of the beautiful resort, pool and lagoon. We even caught a few minutes of the dolphin show when a family was doing a dolphin encounter.Every staff member we encountered was so helpful, professional, respectful AND friendly. What an awesome team; it was a pleasure to interact with each of them! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The grounds are beautiful, and we loved the pools and the lagoon. There is no service at all. No housekeeping, trash service, and we had to wait on new towels for a while. The carpet in the hallway was very dirty and threadbare. The restaurants were not fully open and we were especially disappointed that you could not even get a bottle of water by Coral Cay which is where our boys liked to play. Had that bar/grill been open, we would have enjoyed it so much more. Also, the pools and hot tubs close at sunset, which we were disappointed in. Overall, we do not plan to go back. I think had more service been offered, it would be a different story. We are staying at a resort in Islamorada now that is full service and we are enjoying it so much better.

The resort grounds are beautiful. Service was literally nonexistent. We stayed five nights and did not have our trash emptied, linens changed, or towels given a single time. One time I sat the garbage can outside the door so they would empty it and they took the entire trash can, leaving us without one. I assume it was because of understanding but for the price of the hotel it was just ridiculous. The pool and surrounding areas were great. The curly haired DJ at the pool did a good job getting everyone involved. Dolphin experience was cool. If there was any service whatsoever, it would be 5 star but with the complete lack of service I’d give it 3 stars.

While we're glad to see you enjoyed our lovely grounds and fun activities, we certainly regret that our current services fell short of expectations. Although daily housekeeping is limited at this time, fresh towels and toiletries can be delivered and trash removal provided upon request, and we apologize if these important details were not communicated to you at check-in. Your feedback is immensely valuable to us, as it's helpful to see how we are currently meeting your needs and how we can make improvements to our guest experience. We hope this one lackluster stay will not keep you from returning, as we’re confident we can win you over completely the next time you plan a getaway.

I was excited to go this resort for our vacation last week. Online the resort looks amazing and got great reviews. The week before my trip They sent me a welcome letter. When I arrived I was told there is no house keeping you have to ask. Ok so I asked for housekeeping. There was not enough staff to manage this resort. They advertise 5 restaurants we were lucky if one was open. So we went off site. We arrived on a Saturday and by Monday morning I was done. Day 3 of using the same towels, everyday we stopped at the front desk asking for housekeeping. Just give me clean towels. So we checked out at $500 a night I do not think asking for clean towels is too much to ask for. When we checked out the woman asked why and I told her, restaurants not open to suit our needs, and using towels over and over for now the 3rd day I was done. She asked did you ask for house keeping, yes we did when we checked in and every morning and nothing. I get the covid struggles, and doing less for less contact, but don't send me this welcome letter and then when I arrive you shared nothing with me about the restaurants that were closed or how the hours they were open. All I wanted was clean towels each day. Don't make my bed, ok for $500 a night if I have to make my own bed under these situations I will, should not have too but will. So before you go, call and ask what is going on at the resort before you book. Went down to Key West and had a fabulous rest of my vacation, stayed at the Opal no issues there and as a matter of fact they could not do enough for us.
